Anyone has this knocking-sound when you depress the brake pedal of the CSP? Itsnot just a sound, you can feel this knocking in the foot while breaking and that is what I dont like and I am sure this knocking wasnt there 4 weeks before or so and thats why I think it's not normal.. (you can hear it best just at the end of the video)
someone has a solution?

 
I don´t know, might you can check all screws of they aren´t loose, or check if there aren´t any broken parts you can see:sick:

I checked every screw and every part of the CSP and nothing is loose, broken or something else.. everything looks ok but feels not good... :( But now I know that this noise and feeling is not normal.. I have no idea where the issue is.. I can feel the knocking but I cant see that there is anything not correct .

Have you taken apart the pedals and lubed the brake shaft and foam? I'm just guessing here but it is possible a ridge has built up either on the shaft or hole where the shaft goes into. You should take the pedals apart and check that the shaft and hole are smooth. If they are not smooth, try some emory cloth to take off any rough edges.

thank you for your guessing but I have taken apart the pedals several times now because I wanted to check exactly that and I'm also a bit unsure which setting I should use with the brake pedal..^^ And I lubed everything so this is also not the cause of this sound and feeling.. :(
 
I uploaded another video where it is very hard to not hear the sound... And something else now when fully depressing the brake pedal (1:01).. I think I should write to support again.. I think this cant be normal when other users do not have this terrible sound and feeling...

 
mine makes a noise like that but not as loud if i press real hard on the brake pedal, mine are only weeks old too. im think its where the metal changeable rod hits the load cell, it hits the load cell and where it hits that metal flexes slightly and makes a noise.

however yours happens with hardly any pressure, did you lube the brake axis pin? the pin that you can move up the notches?

yeah my brake pedal makes this noise even when I press it only 1-2 mm... And I dont think that the metal bar hits the load cell.. And yes I lubed the PU foam, the metal bar etc..

i mean the the the pin/bar what the little tiny allen key grub screw screws into. its in the brake arm itself. its not the foam or the brake bart next to the foam, i guess you could say its directly under the vibration motor

ah now I know, yes I also lubed that complete part...
 
ok im very interested in this, i would like to solve it. so have you turned the pedals upside down and the pressed the brake to see if the noise still happens?
 
if you can be bothered take the brake assembly apart again, and pressing the brake with bare minimums attatched, so first do it with nothing attacthed so it is loose and see if it still happens? then add bits one by one, like add the axis pin with grub screw and rod, then try again next add brake bar then try again, then add foam etc etc untill you start to get the noise
 
This happens to me, well the noise at least. It's not as bad right now. I don't have a difference in braking feel though so I think we have different problems. Mine was just caused by not enough lube as the pedal was squeaking before this happened. I can't put lube on it though because they're mounted inverted.

thanks for your helping effort and the tip!
I turned the pedals upside down and pressed the brake and...... the noise and the klocking feeling still happens. :(
I also took apart he brake and started with nothing into the shaft as you said and the noise is still there so there is no problem with the foam or the brake bar which must hit the load cell...
 
so even when no spring is connected and the pedal is loose the noise is still there?


have you just tried pedal on its own no spring no brake axis rod(grub screw one)either?

maybe try to move grub screw rod up or down a hole depending where you have it already

aaaaargh ****ing.... my load cell seems to be damaged I think?! I can press as much as I want, it only shows this:


but yes the noise is there even when no spring is connected...
 
damn sorry to hear that. have you got warranty?

so if noise is still there with no spring attached maybe the problem lies in the actuall shaft the brass bushings rest on.

let me make a pic up just to be sure about things

I never tried it complete without the shaft under the virbation motor, I always bolt it together so I can test the brake pedal, just without everything..
But for now I have some bigger problems.. not only the load cell seems to be broken, now also the magnetic sensor of the gas pedal seems to go crazy.. :( Hope Armin or Thomas reply fast to this problem and either send me a new csp or something to repair.. They can read every little step here in this Thread that I tried everything to repair it by myself but I had no chance.. here is the last video with the broken Load Cell AND the problem with the gas now..

the magnetic rod for the gas pedal, is the grub screw tight on it? as loose grub screw can cause erratic behaviour

yep, absolutely tight... it started only with a noise and bad feeling in the foot while driving and ended with a broken load cell and problem with the gas pedal.. now I have to watch TV instead of driving a little bit til I got answer from Thomas or Armin what to do now.. :(
 
i made the mistake of putting the magnetic rod for the gas pedal in the wrong hole when reassembling the pedals, that also gave me a funny reading like yours, make sure the rod is in the sceond hole from the bottom

I never changed something on the gas pedal so it is still in the second hole from the bottom.. thats what is strange.. I only tried to solve the issue with the noise and feeling with the brake pedal.. now my brake pedal is useless because of a broken load cell.. but I never had my hands on the gas pedal so I dont know why this one is also damaged -.-
I just hope I can get a replacement unit... I wanna drive.. :(

This is mainly for Thomas, or anyone with some real insight.

Any info on when there is to be new firmware for the GT2 with autoclutch and other firmware updates? Just curious and thanks in advance.

Also, a true price-point for the CSS would be appreciated. Just trying to start to set aside for the CSW & CSS now. Wondering if the CSS would be $100 as stated previously, or more with all the revisions and upgrades so to say. I'm leaning toward $150 tbh. So trying to set $800 aside for both with shipping feels like enough, I hope.......
 
Any CSP owner ever notice the issue whereas the brake pressure can give a false positive? For instance, on the PC in the driver app when this bug occurs I see my brakes readout at 1%-5%. My guess is I need to clean out my load cells, etc.

I just noticed this just started happening when I was running some practice laps and my car all of a sudden lost speed off the top end cause the brakes are applying pressure on their own :scared:
 
If you go on Fanatec's support page there is firmware I've linked below to update the CSPs so it will have a higher deadzone value to alleviate this issue. Be sure to make sure the brake pedal is lubricated properly (steel shaft and the foam) to be sure it's not sticking on you.

The V2 link is to be used if the V1 causes a loss of the vibration function.

I have a question about the CSP firmware update. Is it a critical update for the CSPs? I have had my CSPs for almost 2 years now and they are still working great. I have never updated the firmware. Just would like to know if the update is recommended and what improvements will I see.
