Yeah its a on-going struggle for them w SW & FW and I get your frustration. I figured in a year after the takeover they’d have improved but still got a long ways to go - the app has been a lot more complicated set of issues then they expected - what a mess. Probably another 6 months or more before looking better

Personally I think Full Force adds a lot to GT7 immersion and when its off I notice

THe FW in App 1.2.0.5 addresses pretty much all the issues w Full Force, freezes in GT7 and the new CSL wheel and mostly the Formula V2.5 - no need to go any further at this time

Podium Pedals will be the next FW required for the base to recognize

If you want to try then this would be the version I’d recommend

Had no issues with the install and update but my base has been pretty solid w FW updates so far
Thanks for the info. How do I find that previous app version now that they’ve onto 1.2.1.3? And you’re saying this new version has more problems than 1.2.0.5?

I upgraded my DD+ firmware to the latest version, now my wheel base seems to occasionally have trouble connecting to PS5 (in a cold boot, not disconnecting mid-game). Once that happens, I have to cycle to PS compatible mode to connect, and cycle back to PS5 mode to try again, only then can it connect in PS5 mode. Anyone else experiencing the same?

All older Fanatec app and driver versions are in the software section of the Forum

Here’s 1.2.0.5

There’s a hotifix for the Formula V2.5 in 1.2.1.1 if you need that

After that the CS DD+ gets a more major set of updates when the FW goes from 2.7.x.x to 2.8.x.x and there seems to be more issues and no obvious benefits listed

According to Fanatec, the App v1.2.1.3 is the latest official and stable version.
And according to users i can not mention any problem with Clubsport DD/DD+ hardware.
Also this App version has the latest official firmware (2.8.0.6 and for WQR 1.2.1.3) for Clubsport DD/dd+ and Podium DD.

On the other hand the App v1.2.0.5 had firmwares that didn't fixed the misshifts and maybe in some cases the Fullforce "problem" permanently and that is why there was also App v1.2.0.6 (hot fix) at least for the misshifts, among other fixes.

In my opinion the best and safer option is to have always firmwares that are through a stable and official App version.

For now tha latest is the Fanatec App v1.2.1.3 that anyone can download through Fanatec site in the section ''software''

Sigh.
🤣
Yeah. I’ve given my results based on my use so its only an informed opinion - take it as you will

The word “official” from Fanatec is meaningless IMO as each of the releases so far has had issues that needed additional fixes or caused unintended breakage - they are all beta, maybe some more so than others

Fanatec has a long way to go before I’d believe they have a robust SW/FW development and testing process

So I upgrade when needed until I get to a version that works well enough for me and then stay there until some other reason comes along, either something needing fixing (in this case FF and disconnects) or adding some improvement, so jumping to the latest or official release just because is not my strategy

The benefit of the latest release of FW is for an issue I’m not having and there are some reports w WQR being 0 that make me pause. If you use the app for PC games you may have a different need

So IF you want to try Full Force my suggestion still would be to start w app 1.2.0.5 or 6 - both have the same DD+ FW 2.7.1.3 or app 1.2.1.1 which is FW 2.7.1.4 (all 3 use WQR 1.2.1.1) and see how that goes - I think the 2.7.x FW has gotten solid enough, not sure yet about the 2.8.0.6 which is in the app 1.2.1.3 release - again just my opinion

Just got my new DD Extreme with the inverted V3 Pedals. Really nice upgrade from my G923. But I did think there would be more feel. I tried to mess inside the wheel settings itself, but nothing seems to make it really come alive. I do notice the wheel heavier as I make changes, but not much feed back.

Any help with settings would be appreciated

With the pedals. I had upgraded my 923 pedals with a load cell, and that was a really stiff brake. Now when I play around with the preload on the V3 brake--It just makes it brake slower, but the pedal is still fairly soft. Would you recommend the brake kit from Fanatec to get that really firm feel I am looking for?

There are some settings posted in this thread a bit back. Also the A_S auto setting works pretty well in GT7

Yes the V3 is soft w/o the brake kit - would recommend it

...... I should not have said that......
In the 2nd of today's Manufacturers cup races, the FFB got stuck for a few seconds in the final chicane and wanted me to turn left. I could still steer against it though and on the middle of the straight it was gone.
It's quite rare, but not the first time this happened. So I wouldn't hold it against the firmware update for causing it.

Then in the middle of the 3rd race, I believe I got the knocking issue that @PirovacBoy mentioned here a few times. It was definitely related to Fullforce. It felt like something got stuck in a loop and kept repeating the same feedback pattern over and over. Not sure if you could hear anything since I always play with headphones, but it was definitely something you feel.
Since I was in the middle of the race I was unwilling to reboot the wheelbase, so I just turned off Fullforce through the Tuning menu while driving. With that turned off, it was gone.
It also made me realize how much of a change Fullforce is for GT7. The stock FFB is quite bare bones in comparison, especially as only very few track effects like curbs are transmitted over it.

I go with the old method. Delete all fanatec software, and everything with fanatec in name from pc. Download new SW and clean install. Never had any problems

Try this - fixed the knock for me

Before exiting GT7, under options/network clear the network cache

Completely power off PS5

Power off wheel base

Restart PS then base

Run GT 7

My theory on what is happening - GT7 reads base at startup and saves some values related to the tuning menu settings and these are then reused

Changes in tuning, or FW versions create differences with what is saved and how the wheel base is set - GT7 and/or wheel base functions gets affected

I’ve seen differences in how the Auto Setup values are calculated before and after clearing the cache and restarting everything

This AND ONLY THIS, solved the knocking Issue .

1st : Before exiting GT7, under options/network clear the network cache

2nd :Completely power off PS5

3rd : Power off wheel base

4th :Restart PS then base

5th: Run GT 7

It ONLY happens in GT7 so no need to do it on other Games.
Yet the more this ritual becomes 2nd nature, you'll subconsciously do it on every game.

Are you running PS 4 or PS 5 Mode?
All Sliders Maxed out, both ones...? In Game Vibration 150 and Wheelbase 100,... Right?!

PS5 mode. All sliders maxed out.

I play with low in-game max torque (1-3) and that affects the intensity of full force effects. Depending on the car I also have to lower FOR which further dampens these effects.

Forgot to say I’m also using 32cm and 33cm wheels which also dampen these effects. The GT wheel is 30cm I think.

Not as far as I can tell but driving in general feels very satisfying to me at the moment. I’d still prefer they’d up the full force effects a bit but that’s not a massive deal.
I have an aluminum rig and felt I needed to turn Fullforce down. It would reverberate through the rig noticeably at 100 and in-game vibration at it's highest. Maybe I have some bolt not tightened properly on it. Also, really high Fullforce effects seem to just get in the way of useful force feedback information. I think less is really more with it.

Are you guys talking about what the game calls “delete temporary data”?

I decided to bite the bullet today with the latest app etc. and … knock on wood everything went flawlessly. Made sure to uninstall all the existing Fanatec files on my PC and then the FW updates to my DD+, WQR, PBME, and steering wheels all uploaded on the first try, no issues. Drove for about 20 minutes and no issues. Full Force seems subtle but some better curb and road effects, though as before some curbs are far more pronounced than others. My GT3 Endurance wheel with the Podium Hub and APM is a relatively big and heavy wheel, so perhaps it damps out some of the effect. Will have to try my Formula V2.

Didn’t give it all a full beans go in VR with my fans and Next Level haptic seat running, so that’s when I’ll really know. I never play in flatscreen anymore so doing so tonight as the first test felt different, anyway. Full Force or not, the whole game feels a lot different to me in VR and is what I’m used to for the past three years. But so far so good.

Holy smokes am I dumb. For some reason when I turned on my DD+, I had it in Compatibility mode not PS5 mode for my first run. That’s what I get for finally updating everything when running on four hours of sleep and a 17 hour day🤦‍♂️
Nowwwww I see the true effects of Full Force. Major difference. Love it.
@PirovacBoy I loaded up your latest base settings. Excellent out of the box feel. I may mess with some adjustments but this is 🔥
Just the feel over the curbs at Spa with that rumble is so much more realistic and immersive. No idea yet if it’s going to tell me more about how much grip I have and what the tires are doing to potentially actually go quicker as a driver. But just that overall feel is like a different game and wheelbase.

I'm genuinely happy for you that you finally bit the bullet...we are true Men, we take risks, we win we feel like champs 😀
These are my latest refinements as of today, more over, the cherry on the tip I'd say the least.
Almost finalized and written in stone.

Controller Sensitivity 0
SEN Auto
FFB 100
FullForce 75
NDP 16
NFR 8
NIN 0
INT 10
FEI 80
FOR 90
SPR 0
DPR 100
BRF 60

This might finally be THE Settings, my holy grail. Feels as close as best possible... across any category.
Stay healthy and safe and enjoy yourself and your ride 🫠

I thought for sure trying to update everything would lead to calamity like that reported here and especially in the Fanatec forum. Instead … opposite experience for once.

I’ll give those new settings a whirl tomorrow. You turned down the in-game vibration from 150 to 100? Why so?

Just seen Fanatec drop their prices on the Clubsport DD's to bring them in line with the launch of the Podium. However, the DD Extreme bundle is still at the same price - any reasons why and is it likely to drop?

To be fair the GT wheel is not the best, it's definitely not worth the 500€ difference between the bundle and just the base.

I don't think they will from what I've seen on their socials.. Something to do with licensing costs means the price of both (GT & F1) bundles will remain the same

If they leave the GT DD Extreme "bundle" it will drop in sales to 0.
If Fanatec had +300€ in mind for the GT steering wheel when Clubsport DD+ was 1000€, no way they will charge +500€ for the same steering wheel.

I believe they will adjust the price of GT DD Extreme and F1 bundles at -150€ at least. It doesn't make sense to leave it as it is now.

That was in mind of the whole community when they announced Podium DD price. It was making no sense either, and here we are talking about the price drop.

Well we will wait and see.....
