Any excuse to see Jessica Alba eh ;), the first one was watchable, so I'll probably go and see this, tbh though I'm far more interested in Shrek 3.

Hmm, I wonder if she'll go invisible again in civilian clothing. :sly:

But I'll see this when it's out. I particularly enjoyed the first, so this one can't be too bad.

To be completely honest, I have yet to see the first movie. I can't say I wasn't interested, but its more along the lines in which I'm not that big of a Fantastic Four fan...

That said, I've been enjoying the cartoons that are on the Cartoon Network these days. The art style is pretty cool (a cross between American comic-books and anime), the story lines pretty decent (obviously made for younger kids), and the VO not too bad.

Would I see this movie? Maybe... I think if they sold it just as the Silver Surfer they could get some more folks to come in, but I do like the "tie-ins" with the other comic book characters.

(I'm still crossing my fingers for a Captian America [2009?] or Avengers live-action movie!)

I just saw the first preview to this movie over the weekend when I watched Ghost Rider. I really enjoyed the first Fantastic 4 so I was excited to see that they are making a 2nd one. Looking forward to it.

I actually quite liked the first film it just lacked action and hoping having the silver surfer in and apparently Galactus is in it so it should kick serious ass.

The Thing was horrible. He's impossible to transfer from comic book to live-action movie, but they keep trying and he only makes people roll their eyes and laugh.

I also liked the first film and I think they did a great job with the Thing. I am looking forward to the 2nd one. 👍

I have to agree with this. While I enjoyed the movie overall I think the rock monster in Galazy Quest looked better. At least it looked like it was made of rock.

I think the problem is that they went with a suit and the original orange color.

In the new trailer though the Silver Surfer is definitely CGI and looks good passing through glass and even his board. I'm holding my judgements for the movie to come out.

Yes but with major characters being entirely CG like Spidey with his suit on, you can tell and the character somehow loses his or her humanistic qualities and becomes flat.

Or they can be like King Kong and steal the show.

There's no way that Silver Surfer will be able to accomplish what Serkis' Kong did.
Right, but I was just making the point that CGI is not always bad.

Judging by how the first movie left a cartoonish feel and look to the characters and story I am pretty sure that the Silver Surfer won't be as cool as he should.

My point has just been that The Thing would have been much better had they used some CGI to make him look like an update of this

instead of an orange rubberized rock design.

The GQ monster looks good for when it came out and it looks like the surrounding rocks. At best The Thing looks like something my mom puts in her flower garden.

First film was okish, I saw it on DVD like ages after it was out, so I will probably see this one a few years down the line.

Oh and the picture above, I really like Galaxy Quest was quite hilarious!

I saw a new trailer for Rise of teh Silver Surfer last night and it appears to be a little more serious in tone than the first was.

I had a question answered though. I heard the phrase, "How do you stop something that eats planets?" Sounds like Galactus to me.
