Favorite Beer - Domestic or Import

Hmmm... I'm not a big beer person but Franziskaner Weissbier has got to be my favourite, and you've really got to serach ASDA to find it.

Favorite domestic would be Crown Lager.
Import would be Heinekein. Its the only import I can recall drinking...
Umm, I'm not 16, I'm 18, the legal drinking age.

Not a whole lot has changed since I became the legal age a few years ago.

Favourite domestic beers:

Favourite import beers:

• Stella Artois
• Heineken
• Corona

Anybody ever tried Holy Mackerel? That stuff is good. It's not a malt liquor but it's strong stuff. More like an abbey beer actually. It's brewed here in Florida.

To the opposite of mass produced beer then... Has anyone tried any of the Brew Dog stuff? It was on 'Oz and James Drink to Britain' a few months back. I tried their 'Rip Tide', but stout isn't really my thing, though I had their IPA, which was really nice.

You seriously need to get your hands on some High House Farm Brewery stuff. It's lovely. If you like your ales it's perfect.

I so want to try the Smokhaus, I just got my hands on a six pack of the the commemorative 100 from Shiner. The Black Lager is still hands down my favorite. They have the Shiner Family reunion pack at Sam's and have been thoroughly enjoying that one.

I hadn't had any beer in quite a while, but I picked up a six pack of Samuel Adams "Boston Ale" this weekend, and it has really been superb.

It's dark and rich but not too heavy. Really good. If your going for quality vs. quantity, it's hard to beat Sam Adams here in the U.S. As far as lagers, I would probably go with Natural Light--I know, it's a pretty cheap beer, but it's fairly smooth and doesn't have too much aftertaste, at least to me

I am a Scotch fan (Lagavulin and other similar smokey ones) but, when in a beer mood, my favorite domestic (U.S.) beer is Straub - brewed in a family-owned brewery in north-central Pennsylvania. Its a really neat place - they still use the copper kettle that Great-Great (maybe one more Great) Grandpa brought here from Germany in the mid 1800's. They polish the thing with cloth diapers and it still gleams! Looks more like gold than copper!

They brew without sugars or preservatives so its shelf life is only a few months. It has a unique taste that would make all the wonderful German brewers proud!!

If I have a little extra cash and a hankerin' for a dark brew, I'll buy the occasional case of Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout (does Imperial mean expensive on the British Isles??) - my favorite import.

Stone is probably my favorite American brewery. It's between them and Dogfish Head. Stone knows how to make beer that can bunch you in the tongue and make you love it. Ruination is my favorite IPA, period. Dogfish Head is really innovative and versatile, and I like the way they "resurrect" brews from ancient times. If you've not had the Palo Santo, I can't recommend it highly enough. Plus their 120 minute IPA is no joke.

Stone, Dogfish Head, and Great Lakes are all good. I've got some Stone IPA, Dogfish 60 Minute, and Great Lakes Holy Moses White in my fridge. I might have to get some GL Christmas Ale in Dec sometime. I don't have a favorite beer per se, but I have a favorite style: Belgian White Ale. IPAs come in a close second, then it's a toss-up between lagers, pilsners and other ales. I can not stand dark beers like porters and stouts.
