More varied characters, not the usualy backstabing plot(well thats in there but not the main focus of the story), more twists to the story and it is sewn up quite well at the end.
Im sure that people who like Italian(traditional) gangster stories will prefer Vice though.
But I like that they went out and did a gangsta theme!.
Remember this is just my opinion im not saying im right, just thought id add that before the flamethrowers come out.

I liked him in both. I liked his sense of humour in Vice City, but he seemed more real in San Andreas, as do a lot of characters. Kent Paul seems a lot more serious, and seems to have grown up. I liked Kent in this game just as much in Vice City, too.R32GTST/M
Vice City was more based a lot around humour, as this game provides more true-to-life characters in my opinion. I like both.

I don't see how it's not. The San Andreas storyline was much less cartoony, in a way. The missions seemed a lot more real, even though a lot of them aren't capable for one person, I know. But they seemed a bit more down to earth, and better done. Vice City's storylines were a bit silly in some points. GTA 3 had a good storyline, but it had a very disappointing ending. San Andreas' storyline is very good in my opinion. What don't you like about it, KM?KM
Uhh, Vice City was about the Cuban wave of the 80's. GTA 3 was more about the Italian Gangsters than Vice City, although GTA 3's storyline went into a lot of different types of criminal life.R32GTST/M

Errr, oops....I've always called him Romero for some reason......I just think his last name was just to weird to remember, so I called him "Ceaser Romer" because.....Well I dunno, but I did use to watch those old batman shows when I was young so that could be it.

Al Pacino plays a Puerto Rican gangster (Carlito Brigante) who gets out of jail on a technicality thanks to his Jewish lawyer, David Kleinfeld (played by Sean Penn). His lawyer is a paranoid coked up headcase who eventually betrays him and gets killed. The Malibu Club seemed to be based on both the night club in Scarface and the nightclub in Carlito's Way. The dance area looks exactly like the club in Scarface (can't remember what it's called), but it's owned by the main character who is a gangster, who has an office upstaris overlooking the dancefloor, just like in Vice City. I thought it started off very well. Up until CJ left Los Santos it was going fine. The plot was very well handled for a video game, I actually paid attention to the story, unlike in some other games like Driver 3 where you couldn't tell one mob goon character from another and you didn't care enough to actually follow the plot and try to figure who's who, but after CJ leaves Los Santos the plot just lost it's way. Once arrived in San Fierro, the plot became just like in GTA III, which was just a pointless series of missions for different people. There was no real coherent plot until things came back to Los Santos and the riot started.
And I really didn't like the ending. I'd rather have seen CJ whack Smoke in cold blood than the touchy feely scenes between them. He should have handled him the way Tommy Vercetti handled Lance Vance. I know that Smoke is meant to be one of his oldest friends, but it would have been more hardcore and more enjoyable for me to see CJ get proper revenge. And the last scene where everyone went to get lunch together and everyone lives happily ever after. That made me cringe.
I'd rather see Tommy Vercetti sitting on the steps of his mansion after slaughtering his enemies and ready to take on the rest of the world.
However, the plot's done for me now, so I don't really care as such anymore. I just think it could have been handled better.

I wouldn't like an ending where he goes and massacres everyone, and kills Smoke in cold blood. There wouldn't be much feeling in it, for starters, and the plot would then become less involved. I thought in a way, the San Fierro mission, etc, got a bit towards GTA 3, though. I think it would have been better if everything was connected in him trying to get his brother out. There was only one real indication of him doing so, and that was in Toreno's missions. The rest of the time, he was sort of forgetting about him.
But that aside, I really enjoyed the missions, and thought they were much better thought out than previous games. I missed the ending sequence, so could someone PM me what happened in that, please? I explained why when I explained how my old save game got over-written.

Scarface is one of my favourites, too. The dance floor is very much like Scarface, and the little square glass window things around it are in a couple of places in that movie, but that's where it differs a bit. I always wondered about that balcony in there though.

I like the Radio Station DJs. Sage is completely up herself, and says some funny things. I love when she explains her tattoos under her armpits. Tommy Smith off K-DST is okay, although he has some "childish" moments. The Chat Stations are fairly funny. The Master Sounds DJ is pretty cool.
I like when Sage says she slept with the singer of Guns 'N' Roses, and then Tommy Smith off K-DST (in real, the singer from Guns 'N' Roses, Axl Rose), tells Sage that "it was only a one-night stand, and to forget it.

Haha! I don't remember that, but he does say that he hates that DJ off "Radio X, Rock X, Radio what?" I think that Axl Rose didn't do a bad job as a the DJ Tommy Smith, mainly because he doesn't have an annoying voice and he's pretty low key so he doesn't interfere with the music. But I hate Sage. She's really annoying. Yeah, that's one thing I like about Tommy Smith, he's not a huge personality, he's very subtle, so that's good.
I don't find Sage annoying, but K-Chat and Amy (I think) were my least favourite things from the Radio in Vice City. The station and Amy were childish and stupid.KM

My favourites would probably be Wu Zi, Tenpenny's partner, and Mike Toreno. Toreno is such a dick sometimes and CJ gets so pissed off with him it's awesome.
I also don't mind that pimp you have to do jobs for, he was kind of funny.
Oh, and Millie! She is just so damn funny!
