If I was to do a lot of mental gymnastics, I could kinda sorta warp reality in my head, to make an F1 car look like something that competes in NASCAR. I think I would have to be on various recreational drugs first.

How can you tell that? All it says is "why did the updates make the F1 look like NASCAR?". Now to me that implies that in a previous update, the F1 cars were made to look like a NASCAR. Nowhere there does it hint at wanting the 2011 F1 car. If he wanted to hint at that, he should have said "why dont they update the F1 like NASCAR?". That would have made much more sense in supporting your comment.
