I tried to censor the words in you quoted text as well to help out.

Never can be too cautious I guess, it's just too much fun to miss out on.

I would hope they'd give a warning but never know.
Well, i have had 2 warnings in the past, so am i on strike 3 :nervous:

I am still interested in being a guest but the schedule has been pretty full on the weekends. I am also worried that I would cause an incident.

Give the practice race on thursdays a shot and/or practice with AI so you can get the hang of driving in traffic. We were talking about this earlier but because the F1 is so dependent on downforce the handling characteristics change greatly when you're behind in dirty air.

That's why you see F1 drivers give a look to the inside when they're behind under braking and then go back onto the racing line. Part of it is to throw the guy in front but not much because they're all pro drivers, mostly it's so they can get a fresh scoop of clean air under braking.

You are welcome nofex.
Have you time to drive thursday our 45 laps practise race in spa??

You guys got a bit off topic...there.
youll end up here if you aint careful https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70684
On another note it was easier to drive on comfort hards than race hards

No doubt, we cleaned it up with the fancy censor button. Get a bunch of dudes together on a forum and they're bound to broach divisiveness at some point.

Edit: LOL @ destin's:
Destinkeys - 2nd February 2011 - Insisted on testing the moderators' patience at every opportunity. Was given numerous chances, but whined about how the forums were not being moderated the way he would like, even going so far as to claim his infractions were badges of honour that exposed the tyranny of the moderators. Given a temporary time-out when he suggested his opinion was the only one worth having. Has been granted a reprieve on the condition of less rantitude.

If you know him this is especially hilarious, he's a bit... tightly wound, to say the least lol

Edit 2: He has the dubious distinction of being banned three times:

Destinkeys - 24th February 2011 - Polyphony Digital's own personal Ralph Nader has once again argued himself into a rabid froth and has earned another temporary vacation for contempt of court.

Destinkeys - 26th March 2011 - Despite numerous warnings, infractions and two temporary bans, Destinkeys failed to understand that running around the threads starting arguments and flame-wars is not the behaviour we want from a member. Seemed to be under the impression that a ban would never come, turned out to be utterly wrong.

LOL BTW he runs squeaky clean shuffle spec rooms, highly recommended if you like that type of thing...

I still don't think we were out of order Gian, i saw a few names i didn't recognize watching the thread so i got a bit suspicious.

Probably not, but mentioning the adult stuff might have received a warning. And kids use this site so I figure it's for the best (not like any 10 year old with internet couldn't find it anyway, but it's the gentlemanly thing to do).

That's my point though, we didn't put any links up, we merely mentioned names that the grown ups would know. I think if a 10 year old wants to find naughty stuff this is the last place they'd look :D. Look at you being all moral and everything, i know deep down you are just as bad as me, if not worse :D
And Wilso, him telling us we went off topic only after we'd slammed the brakes, some friend he is huh?

I'm single in my 30s with no kids and live in NYC... according to the rest of my 'family-values' oriented country I'm the devil reincarnate.

Edit: On a topical note, I'm going to do some laps at Spa for an hour or so before heading out to the bar if anyone is interested. I'll be on until about 12:30-1am eastern time.

Edit 2: Done for the night

Iam open a practise lobby now guys.

Practise lobby is still open guys.

I'll be on in an hour or so, watching USA vs USA in the Womens Gold Medal Final Volleyball match.

I'll also miss the practice race tommorow night as i'll be going to watch the Womens final football/soccer match. Here are my favourite USA players:

What kind of lap times are you guys seeing? I was doing 44s last night full fuel no abs, is that competitive?

BTW I love this track, only second to suzuka in terms of pure awesome. Last night Mr. E and I went through eau rouge together and almost pulled a webber alonso... unfortunately he spun. Almost though, almost.

You're in a disadvantage with no ABS :p. And I could run 43s full fuel with ABS.

Damn that's fast. I know it might be slower until I get the hang of it... but I have third sewed up and no abs is full simulation. For me this league is all about fooling my brain into thinking I'm driving a real F1 car because it's always been a dream of mine, hence the in car view.

Now that I'm coming to the close of my rookie season figure it's time to take the last "training wheels" off you know.

Edit: If anyone is interested in some Graham Hill 1970 Monaco on board footage... enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdTw6BhFxYE

What sort of lap times are you guys doing with about 1/4 tank of fuel with fresh RS tires?

No idea brother, I usually don't test on empty fuel because you can't run that way in qualifying and in the race it's such a small portion of time after most of the running order is sorted. The difficult part of the races is on full fuel. I'd guesstimate somewhere between 40 and 42.

I don't test low fuel either but I wanted to find out if I could improve on my low fuel best lap from last season. Found out I'm 3 seconds quicker, and this will only be my second race back. I haven't done much F1 since season 1 as I've been trying to improve by doing SPEC racing.

You figure out the dampers yet m8? You were close to a solid setup before hope it's going well.

I'm using mostly my set up from last season but with full downforce and full springs. Very little toe and camber.

Last season Immortal did a 1:41.366 as best lap in the race. I watched him do a 41.5 on sort of heavy fuel today.

Front bumper isn't actually front bumper. I think it's very close to being in car but without the car being in the way. when you lock up the front tires on the F1 you can actually see the skid marks in front of you......just read your sig.

Still fake and I consider it an aid, being in the car is the only way to drive. It also has the fake rear view mirror... F1 cars don't have rear view mirrors either.

This is what you should see; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3DY7HIjXMc&feature=youtu.be

Everyone has a preference I guess. Some people can only drive one way or another. I've been using bumper cam for something like 11 years or more (Gt1). You aren't going to teach this old dog new tricks pal.

I used to have to race in that view too since gt1 because they didn't have in car until prologue. I also used to use a controller and use automatic transmission.

Time to graduate my friend. :)

I don't like it. It does't feel realistic to me because I can't move my head and look in the direction I want. I have a friend that used in car for a long time. He tried but couldn't use bumper cam. He was one of the fastest X1 racers around..using in car view and using a ds3. I just finished posting somewhere else about this guy. He purchased a wheel and took it back for a refund after half hour. This guy was slower using bumper cam. It's all about preference.

I'm slower using bumper cam now because I'm not used to it, but overall it has advantages real F1 drivers don't have so once you adjust to it you're better off. But it's all about realism and that might not be important to everyone but it is to me. Use the directional buttons on the DFGT to look left and right in your mirrors. We were just talking about head tracking the other night but unfortunately it doesn't work online from what I'm told. :( Keep in mind F1 drivers are wearing helmets too which restricts view, it's not far off as you can see from that video I posted.

You can always teach yourself new tricks, I'm in my 30s and it didn't take long to adjust. BTW he was slower bc he was using a DS3 and got a wheel. That always happens, people realize they don't actually know how to drive and they thought they did before. Much different handling a wheel than it is driving with your thumb, reaction times are much faster with a flick of the thumb.
