I apologize for my absence, and I promise that I'll be there next week

Next week send a message on the ps3 as i did not get a reminder which made me not appear for the event, :( and i was looking forward to it

I'll get messages out, and add everybody (have 10/14) right now. I take it brandofo is not going to race with manual? I may allow Auto if thats what people want. The diff between manual/ auto is not huge when it comes to lap times. I'll shift down to quickly sometimes into slow corners but other than that its not a huge difference. I will work on the season track list today as well. Its just that I dont have a full grid now since Klondike left, and now brandofo.

I vote for allowing auto. I'm not too good at using mt as well

Yeah, I have to cater to the majority, so it depends on what everybody wants. Golfer? Leedona?

What's the point of having no aids or bull **** regulations if your gonna have AT and ABS that never existed whats the point of driving an F1 car and whats the point of saving tyres or adjusting brakes , those are all non sense if there is AT and ABS , any unrealisticness that makes it unrealisticly easy and makes you unrealisticly quicker and unrealisticly safer than others is not the way to go.

like what I said there is a huge gap and difference between AT and MT , and ABS and no ABS , in an X1 you will go tons faster with AT and ABS which is the same prospect with F2007 because they maneouver similarly then that makes it really easy but you just made it even more easy which makes it easiest of all which is even more unrealistic.

dont call this a championship if your allowing ABS or AT those never existed in F1.

you have to work your a** off if you want to compete in a championship , but even if you werent in a championship you wont find AT or ABS in any lower Formula cars.

In short everything is non sense if it was allowed.

technically TCS on 1 or 2 should be allowed with an F2007. Don't though as F10 will misuse it. No I'm just posting to say what tracks I've come across which are good with the F10 at least (want an F2007 so bad. If there was no trade limit I would get to B-spec 35 and trade the X2010 for it) but any way. The tracks that I found are :
Autumn Ring - Easy to control the F10 there. No massive bumps
Madrid - It could be our Valencia
Rome - It could be the new Macau Grand Prix
SSR5 - We need a singapore right?

Also, I was thinking, if we run a mini competition in the "Course Creater" section of the forum, then you could get a very good Sunset-Night time transition track at Toscana for the end of the season, rather like Abu Dhabi. That or you use the Nordschleife.

i totally understand why AT would bother the F1 purists, so its no problem if you want to keep it MT only.

unfortunately i will only be able to participate with AT. i have no problem driving with ABS off tho as it makes it more realistic for me (just not 100% realistic since i use AT and a controller)

my friend uses controller with MT and he does 128's on suzuka and even 127's on online races

you just have to practice before you compete in any championship

people need to understand you cant compete if you wont meet the realistic regulations which makes up a realistic championship

there's no need for non gp tracks , and F1 doesnt race in macau. Its too small for the cars now its just for go karts and formula starters.

I like the night race idea at Toscana, although its really hard to see at that track when it gets dark. The Ring is a little bit better visibility wise at night, but still tough.

I'm in a bind about the auto/manual thing, because I have people that will leave and go if I allow auto. For years in F1 they allowed traction control, and driving out of a chicane meant flooring it pretty quickly for F1 drivers.

In GT5, I find the TCS on F1 cars to be un-helpful. The car generally wants to step out with it on or off, and having it off just forces me to be easy on the gas, making the stepping out problem go away.

As far as tranny goes, I'll leave it on manual for now. I know its tough to shift with a controller. A wheel makes it a lot easier. Even with the "Semi pro wheel" aka the DFGT I'm able to shift in the X2010 with the tiny paddles and get 1:03 laps at Suzuka using a manual tranny. The F1 cars are alot slower, like 100 km/hr slower. So naturally, I have to say if your a Logitech or Fanatec user, the lap time diff just istn there, and driving with the paddles makes you feel better about yourself. Minus the G-forces, the car damage, the bumps, $500,000 salary, the language barriers and all the slutty girls in your hotel room.

I think with every mention of Toscana (insert: Madrid, SSR5, other non-GP track), night race, TC, AT, etc Reventon dies a little inside. So let's not get too crazy. I could do w/o Sarthe and Daytona. I could deal with SSR5. It is a wicked night track (with full pits to my knowledge).

Rich are there many on the fringe/dropouts/waiting list that could be added to form two "leagues".

We could run an automatic league and a manual league at the same time. idk
2 race winners.

I dislike the fantasy tracks strongly, I think they are too walled in, they encourage wall usage/wall riding to slightly improve lap times, and with light damage on people will hit the walls and get no tangible punishment. The Super GT race we had at Tokyo in the NASGT series, I was hitting the wall every other lap and it didnt do $hit to my car, I finished 3rd. Also, the physics and lack of bumps at fantasy tracks is weird. In general, I dont like them.

I hate it when F1 guys bag on Nordshleife and Circuit de la Sarthe. Why?

This game is missing something like 15 of the Formula One circuits. Its missing 22 of the cars. LOL, why am I required to use only real F1 tracks? If you want to play the official F1 game, head on over and play that arcade game with Test Drive like physics.

SSR5 is a great idea for a night track

Ok so people like the idea of SSR5. I'll do some testing with different penalty settings and damage with the F10 so see if there is any way that the Madrid and SSR5 and Rome circuits can become 'cheat proof'. I'll report my findings later so you know what tracks will be fair if some series entrants are cheaters. Grrrr hate cheaters so much. Once in racedriver GRID i was on track for my first ever online win and some idiot parks at the start finish point and drives out when i pass.

Doesn't Rome have that funky cobblestone? Does that surface chatter a little for other wheel users out there? I'd vote for no Rome, but at this point I don't think I really care. It's just another round of racing.

I guess which leagues you run would depend on if we have enough to run two large grids and can we agree on something now that we have multiple choices. I'd almost split it between purist, F10, GP track only. The other an AT/MT, F2007/F10, extended track season. From what I am gathering the F10 is very dependent on setup (more so than F2007). That one would be for the few purists (pending they have an F10) as it would be one make, setup/driver dependent.

What are the "fantasy tracks"? Eifel, Toscana, etc? I don't mind the 'Ring nor Sarthe, but for an F1 season those would be more optional for me. Whenever I play Sarthe in the F2007 it's just a clusterf$%# of cars drafting/passing/crashing. You're running the show; so whatever. I'd just rather see SSR5 instead of Sarthe.

Nah you don't feel the cobble stones at all with a wheel. Odd really and quite a shame but oh well. Going to test at Toscana to find a good track with good night visibility, so easy to drive when it is dark and provides technical sections and high speed overtakes etc.

Just been testing at Toscana to see if I can get a decent track for these cars. Ive come up with one and the time I have it set at is the latest you will be able too as otherwise visiblity is an issue. It has two long straights so a toe should result in a good overtake. Very wide track as well to allow space for the cars. I have set it to online status so if you want to test it then add me via PSN and download it.

I'll take a look at the track. It would never be fair to use it though, unless you added every single person on the GTP Ferrari F1 list because then some would have no way to practice on it.

In general, there's a universal Toscana track, the one used for that old Super GT time trial. TT even 10 I think it was.

For now I'm going to keep the same rules, since nobody else has shown outrage over the manual transmission.

-Also of note is that 14 people voted for one or the other when it comes to cars.

OK people I'm going to add everyone who is in the series so you can practice at my Toscana track. Be prepared for a friend request from golfer199 in about 9 hours. Oh and Rich, what do you think of the track overall? Once we get to know what the cars are capable of and work out the amount of laps, i'll be able to work out the length of the race and then the time progression so you start in daylight and finish in the cold of night with nothing but the sound of Ferrari V8 power to accompany you

I just checked the OP and I was literally ecstatic when I saw that Madrid was on the track list for an average season. I cheered with Joy. That is the track that I am going to aim for an in-class victory within. Can't wait for that. Also I was thinking, with the two classes you will have to adjust the point system. I was thinking reducing the amount of places that get points, and awarding points for in class finish place and overall finish place. E.g. an F2007 winning the race gets 35 points. 25 from an in-class victory and 10 from an overall victory. An F10 coming 2nd gets 33 points. 8 for an overall 2nd place and 25 for an in-class victory. But the points that are scored are only counted for the two cars individual championships. Plus we could run an overall championship as well as individual championships

you will get more out of F2007 if you know set up very well since its very easy and handy which means giving out its full set up potential.

any setup wont give any potential on F10 , lol

well im not really a tuner or understands tuning so I may be wrong but thats what I can tell you.

we dont need different points system , people will just respect more of F10 drivers.

can i just check, the quali being at 7pm GMT on sundays, that makes it 8pm current UK time doesnt it? Since British Summer Time is GMT +1

So we have to run manual trans? :-/

I've sent out friend requests to everyone involved. Download the track when your next free and tell me what you think and wether it is suitable for a day/night transition race. I think it would make an excellant championship race.

Open my slot up again. All of my data has just been lost for the 2nd time now so I won't be able to take part unfortunately. I was really looking forward to this as well :(.

Oh thats too bad, that hasnt happend to me yet on GT5, although I was a victim of the save glitch on F1 2010. (saving during practice and loosing everything.)

The Japanese players must be on pins and needles with all the rolling blackouts they have due to loss of electrical power from the nuclear meltdown thing.
