Been playing offline recently on my career mode. I have a team with a rating that should be of the likes of Real Madrid and Barca but, my team decide to play like retards and I concede goals left and right. It is absolute BS that the computer just decides it's going to score and I can't do anything about it. Which is just wrong on so many levels.

I have had the trade pile problem as well. Said I had 80.

What's your team? What club, forrmation, players, etc. Curious cause I used to have that problem (~fifa 10) but I've been able to tighten up a lot by using some different tactics/formations/players. I play on legendary (no sliders except to turn injuries down a touch) and in my last season I conceded 5 goals :D

I switch around on the formations (4-2-2, 4-4-2 Diamond Wide, 3-4-3, 4-3-3 holding) Here is my top players that I mix around often; Tim Krul, Danilo, Coloccini, B'wia*, Davide Santon, Gareth Bale, Yohan Cabaye, Inui, Muriel, Lukaku, Neymar, Ben Arfa, Aryan, and many more 75+ players. I just don't get it.

I play with Juve, and I have a couple different team styles I rotate through. My basic starting 11 is a 3-1-4-2 (Juve default) with:
Buffon (85)

Ogbonna (85) Bonnuci (84) Cheillini (88)

Vidal (89)

Montoya (81) Marchisio (88) Asamoah (87) Bale (88)

Falcao (89) Giovincco (85)

Bench:
GK- Leali (75)
RB- Lichsteiner (84)
CB- Jones (81)
CDM- Pogba (81)
CM- Ramires (85)
LW- Deulofeu (79)
ST- Gabbiadini (82)

The other team/formation I play a lot is a 4-2-3-1:
Buffon (85)

Caceres (86) Jones (81) Magnussen (78) Jose Enrique (85)

Pogba (81) Ramires (85)

Isla (85) Amabile*(69) Deulofeu (79)

Bench:
GK- Leali (75)

So those are basically my 2 go-to teams. I play the 3-1-4-2 any time I play against 1 striker, because it's basically unbeatable for any 1 striker formation. The 4-5-1 comes out when I want to sit deep and counter, or when I want to cross (replace Deulofeu with a traditional winger).
Picking your formation and tactics to match up against the other team is super important in CM if you want to play at a high level. In Italy, there's a lot of 1 striker systems, and a lot of 3 defender systems, so knowing how to break those down is important, which is why I play the systems I do.
Are you with Newcastle, or did you just go on a raid there?

I was reading about this earlier. EA are probably doing this to make you feel like they still care about the customer by giving them more boots. They still sold everyone a broken game. I can still see that.

Broken game? Don't agree......Then again I don't play UT so I guess my opinion is invalid to most in this thread. Flawed in places but not broken.

Ultimate Team actually has slight problems. The biggest problems on the game right now are; Career modes freezing and people having to completely restart career mode, EA servers, invisible ball glitch.

So many big name YouTube commentators have deemed it a broken game as well.

The biggest reason why I don't spend a single cent on UT.

I know im going to ruffle a few feathers here, but I have yet to see literally any evidence of scripting in any fifa game, let alone fifa 13. I feel like its an excuse that gets thrown around a lot though, mostly by people who play exactly the same all game every game, and sometimes get killed off at the end once someone has their number down.

But then again, I rarely play online and have never touched UT, so.....yeah. I have played well over 300 matches in CM and against people on the same console (no lag/ea server BS) in fifa 13, and was close to 1K matches in fifa 12 though, so its not like I haven't played the game.

1-0 loss.

Paying 20k for a good player.
Playing against someone who had your last stricker whom you sold to get the new one.
His stricker gets a hat trick.

Stuff like that.
 
When you have 18 shots on target and can't score, they have one last minute break away and score with their only venture into your half for the whole game, maybe if this happens once or twice, maybe that is just football.

When a quarter of the game in, you know what is going to happen (above) as it happens nearly every time you play team of the week or need a win to get the title, something is wrong.

As I said, I have never played a single match of UT because it holds zero interest to me. Plus, my relationship with the ea servers....lets just say they don't get a Christmas card from me.

I have seen that happen maybe four times? And they were woeful backpasses, so it wasn't hugely surprising. Once was some weird glitch though, just let the ball nutmeg him :lol:

For this (as I have seen it happen offline too) you have to ask some questions about the quality of the chances. For me, the 1 shot was a 2-on-1 against my keeper, squared & finished. My ~20 shots were all from long range or absolute dribblers; I had 2 real quality chances, and wasn't able to put them away, so I paid the price. Its not like it never happens in football that one team dominates and the other wins... (Barca vs Chelsea anyone...?)

This isn't scripting, come on. Its good luck and favorable service/tactics/formation/playstyle etc. You know as well as I do that different players fit better into different systems 👍

FUT is my game mode of choice, and as Matty says it seems a bit too obvious to be a one off, you know when it is going to happen.

For me, everytime I play the team of the week (TOTW), I will destroy them, but they either hold out for a win or a draw. Everytime. I have to lower the difficulty to get the win.

For me, I use a different range of tactics and approaches which always result in goals. But use the same against TOTW, it makes no difference. It is impossible to score.

Career mode is my main mode of choice, I've had atmost 2-3 freezes on career mode since I've had the game so I wouldn't say that is to bad. Rather have no freezes ofcourse but most games tend to have a few freezes in them knowadays. Invisable ball glitch? Haven't experienced it myself. And how is the crappy servers fifas fault, this is an inherent issue for all EA games not solely fifa.

All I hear in this thread is whining about scripting, when will people realise its not a "problem" per se. Its a gameplay mechanic purposefully programmed into to the game for whatever reason. Do I like it? No, but people need to realise its ment to be there and no amount of moaning and tantrums will get rid of it. Its been part of fifa for the last few iterations and will probably continue to be. Just get over it, and if you can't. Don't play it.

Fifa is a video game, EA makes and publishes it. They are not "the same thing". People are acting as if its specifically fifa which has the bad servers, This is merely something you must put up with if you purchase a EA game.

I'm not whining, I'm merely trying to explain my view and where I dissagree with others. This thread has been virtually lost to UT complaints, hissyfits and cries if victimisation by injustice of the gods of scripting. Which is why I generally avoid this thread for the most part. I pop in to let people know of something added to the the game (for free I may add) to be greatest with tiresome negativity and the same old rubbish, which is regularly regurgitated in this thread.

Oh and easy on the sly Smileys there, wouldn't want one to think your posts are not to be a taken seriously.:sly:

It just seems unnecessary, in my opinion. If it added to the game in any way, shape, or form I wouldn't be agitated when it strikes, but I can't figure out a productive reason so it bothers me. That's all :).

I'm thinking about getting rid of my EPL bench and just putting a whole new team in the subs/reserves so they can swap out every few games and eliminate me having to buy fitness cards. Can anyone see a downside to that? It seems like it'll pay for itself after awhile.

Ill get you when im on a real computer, but that won't be until tomorrow evening/night (GMT -8) so until then, what style of attack and defense do you generally like (ideally) to play?

Awesome!! Don't spend it all in one place ;)

Won Division 1 for my second time. Started out 6-0-0, and finished with 2 draws and a win. The last was 5-nil at halftime and he quit. The gold pack was garbage but it was still fun :).

First game using the weak side of my rotation (kept using fitness cards for the win season), I'll report back with results.

Lost 2-1, had a stopped penalty that I hit well and a fast break shot hit the bar and both goals were due to the fact that my defenders mysteriously ran the opposite direction my stick told them to go. Can't win 'em all though, not bad for a first time out ;).

I am a very possession based player. Pass around until I find an opening to take a shot at goal. Defense wise, if my defense has had time to get organized then I am solid at defrnse but, if they are doing a quick counter attack I am in trouble.
 
What should my first investment in my backup team be? It's a La Liga 4-5-1 set, right now I have Vela (ST), Turan (CAM), Isco (CAM), Feghouli (RM), Simao (LM), Song (CM), Miranda and Victor Ruiz (CBs), Juanfran (RB), Abidal (LB) and Diego Lopez (GK).

Looking to invest in the front six first.

Just bought Guardado for 800, but wondering what's wrong with him to make him so cheap...
 
His lack of 4* skills, that's what.

Reyes, Muniain, Joaquin, Ever Banega, Tiago, Sergio Canales, Perotti, Ander Herrera, Griezmann, Valeron, Trochowski, Masoud, all good shouts.
