I had a masterclass from @Mwerte tonight. I must remember to save a replay so I can see where I'm losing time. I'm sure there are places where I'm lifting where I could go flat if I got my lines right. I always underestimate the amount of grip available. Had a chat with sevytron ? afterwards - accused us of being aliens, which was nice.
Better than being accused of using SRF!

I tried to find @Mwerte, but kept ending up in rooms with SRF users, including the infamous van lady....

He did send me the same msg but in french .... and he know we re GTP members ...
So @sevytron si tu es la... manifeste toi

;)

I know that you knew that I knew you knowed that @Mwerte and @StirlingMoose don't knew and were trying to know... who knows...

Hello to all.
I've been reading your forum for some time now, and playing for many years. It was a relief to find out about SRF using drivers, but still not quite sure how that works. I'm only pretty sure I don't have that option. It has always made me mad to see people driving so much faster than me, and never sure why. And, trying to find an answer online, finally got to know this forum.
Unlike the most humble of you, I know I'm not a slow driver, and that's why GT6 sometimes gets me crazy. The compensation some of the QM events have is just not acceptable for a title that calls itself a driving simulation.

Anyway, hope nobody here knows me from being a sarcastic revengeful guy, which sometimes is accurate when I meet unfair drivers.
If I ever did something to you, I'm sure I can explain.

By the way, nobody here driving in Fuji QM?

Well, I'm pleased to meet you all.

Being a bit mean with the info there... What were your times?

I'm pretty much stuck at mid to high 46's and one high 24 total *but in my defense, I haven't had much track time.

*Made sure I got an excuse in for being slow.

You're not on your own with being annoyed at the SRF bug but don't let it bother you too much. There's still some good racing to be had as the majority of people run without it.

The original thread discussing the bug is here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/activating-srf-in-some-quick-matches.346327/

I've dabbled with Fuji a few times but with the GTR's having a decent edge there, I mainly use it for a bit of pack racing in the Z4. The first sign of people using artistic license with the track layout sends me straight back to Bathurst though.

If Nemapau is your PSN name, I'll look out for you. I'm Digtater online.

...and welcome to the forums.:gtpflag:

:lol::lol::lol:

Hello Memapau. Only found out myself about the SRF glitch here not that long ago. Can be a tad frustrating at times.

Just tried out Bathurst with Kim's tune on the Megane base model. Man I need to get in some serious practise. 2:10 on my first practise lap then got slower. :banghead: Still got a bit of a hangover from the weekend so gonna blame that.

Did that on purpose  !
1. Didn't want to throw away the "just not good enough"-option
2. Was curious if some certain Mr. would ask exactly that

Seriously ... surprise surprise ... I didn't have too much racing lately, maybe 15 - 20 races at Monaco.
Best racetime is 5.22.9, best lap is 1.45.3
Have to say though that my trusty yellow roadster is a HELLUVARACINGMACHINE,
it's easy to be decent with it :D !

Thank you very much!

I'm sure I've raced Digtater before.

Went to the original SRF post, thanks for doing that. Clarifies a lot.

Doesn't anyone from PD or even the producer ever read the forums or check into this?
Because I remember back in the day, when I was young and the world wasn't so round, playing the GP series in the PC, I had Geoff Crammond in such a pedestal, like a living legend you could never - ever - get hold of. But now there's Internet, and they cannot not care. I feel like I have to let them know this is ruining the title for me. I've been trying not to let it bother too much, but I guess I am too competitive.

100% with you on the "Artistic License". Sometimes it seems I'm the only one getting (unfair) penalties.

Will try your Bathurst tonight.

Playing and writing from São Paulo, by the way.

Cheers!

Great times there @ROCKET JOE. Looks like I'll need extendable elbows if I ever find myself in front of you.

It's one of my favourite cars as well but I'm woefully short of track time with it being a street circuit. Never been a fan of them as I'm sure the walls move in on you when you're under pressure..

If the bug had been found (much) earlier, they might have addressed it but not this late in the game's life. I was told the code was frozen when I reported it so it's never getting a fix. I felt as strongly about it as you do now but if I wanted to carry on with the QM's, I'd just have to accept it or look elsewhere for my racing.

Just so you know, it's only a QM bug. It doesn't affect the game's other racing options.

Always thought that you had these elbows preinstalled - a gift in racing when you can use them in a fairplay
manner ... and something I really really have to work on.

I can't say I love Monaco. But it's a bit of an extra challenge to race without any contact ... like it was one of the highest tasks 10 years ago in GT4, if you remember.
What makes it great in the Mazda Roadster is that in some sections driving feels like dancing - I simply love that !

:)

I don't mind defending but if there's a small chance of a collision, I'll wait for a better opportunity. Quite keen on slamming doors on people though.

...and you're right about the car dancing. Yours is the Waltz while mine's break dancing...on the barriers.

First time out at Monaco. About a half hour or so of actual wheel time. Lot of dopes, so that was enough for today. Clocked a high 45. 100 kg of ballast was about it, rest was typical me tune.

If you stick to it, I don't want to race you there three days from now :nervous:.

The Mazda steers beautifully on the throttle, particularly through the swimming pool section :)

Any 1 driving Tokyo. Looking for a realistic lap time to aim for. I've managed a pd of 1.27.1xx think i can do a high 1.26. Been seeing times in the 1.25's but when following those guys they're slow around corners and faster on the straights. Has me thinking a little bit of cheating is going on. That said an alien could manage it maybe.

Got a 46.1 tonight, from what I thought was a safe line so I must be learning something at last. I'm still a wimp with missing a lot of apexes though. Me and the armco just don't get on.

yes....i did try looking for u and end up in the same lobby each time .... did find @StirlingMoose
Today it was a very good day ... i raced the German blonde for severals times and win everytime thanks to a italien player ( calveron ) who i used to fight but i guess the enemy of my enemy is my friend and he didnt overtake me when she did block me..... but i manage to make her spin twice and she DIDNT like it .....oh she really really didnt like .... try everything to the point she was waiting in the last corner but in the last lap and thanks to god at that time i had a teamradio asking me to pit ...so i did ...and when i was running safely in the pit ... i saw her car doing like this :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: with the wall...that was fun

Fine racing at Bathurst tonight chaps. In just one room met @dogmarsss, @Daduce1947, @kilesa4568 and the mysterious sevytron. And nearly @bone_tone (you were in the room when I joined but left before my first race).
@kilesa4568 I remembered to save the replay of the one where you came back from two and a half seconds behind me, so I've got my educational video to watch.
