Make it the way it is now. Totally stock, Sports Soft. Not sure if I want to get the DLC since I have been reading about all the problems people are facing. Some have paid for the DLC and didnt get anything.:nervous:

No tuning locks the suspension too? Hmmm... So it feels ok with the default suspension settings then? Even though we wouldn't be able to do any tuning except for changing tires, I think have it full spec is the best thing that we could do. That way everyone is on the exact same playing field.

Sounds like a Sony problem.

Don't make the same mistake I made and buy the DLC on an account you don't really use (but with all your money) and expect it to work for all of your accounts. 'Cause, take it from me, it won't.

so Turbo whats the plan never really understood your last post...

Cool, so pending some testing by myself I think that's what we will do. Completely original car + Sport Soft tires. 👍

so thats Tuning Prohibited and restricted to Sports Softs? sweet perfect level playing field like the old mx5s were :D

Tuning Prohibited? Then we wont be allowed to tune aero, suspension or anything. Totally 100% Spec racing. Is that what you want Turbo?

Personally I love the idea of complete spec. I feel I am a B to B+ driver, but not truly sure because I know I am a D- tuner. I have run with enough guys to know I am not going to be the fastest, and that is okay, but I am starting to realize how bad some of my tunes have hurt me in some online races. Just my take for what it is worth.

Spec sounds perfect. Was hoping you'd want to go that road. 👍

i got booted from my own room wtf :grumpy: but yeah im 1000000% for completely Spec racing :D

Seems very good to drive with no tuning permitted and sports soft tyres - the car is very predictable, I like it a lot!

Yes!! Spec means I won't have to hire a crew chief...lol

I feel exactly the same way. All I've ever done is taken a base tune from the tuning forum and fiddled with the downforce and transmission, with the latter mostly being a detriment to my times.
Now when I'm slow I'll know for sure that it's just me. :dopey:

sad that most in the MX5s cant test the mx5 but the 👍 from Mole is credit to the Mx5s excellence :D
also its funny that mine and moles cars are nearly identical

Alright guys, I can't believe I did it, but it's for a good cause.

I'll post any and all updates on Twitter (:nervous:) starting today for those that use that....thing. :D

I'll post up a twitter photo that people can click on to get there. For now, use @FMSuperCup 👍

Car sounds good. I wish I had seen this earlier, would have popped in to take photos, even though I don't have the car yet.

*And Twitter added. Don't be too frightened. It'll be alright. Haha.

ill add it to the things i follow mostly i only follow BTCC related things and Plato but ill add that to my list :D

following im your first

The last line is perfect. That is all I am asking for is to know how much I stink :sly:

The way this car is is exactly how I thought PD would make it, with stupid amounts of aero. What I didn't except was for the rear aero to be so much more than the front.

Tried the car with sport softs and it was boring. Understeery, as you can except when the default aero for the car is 15 on the front and 40 on the rear . Why is it so high? So I tried sport mediums and the only corners around GVS Reverse where my back end stepped out a little (without actually physically trying to make it step out) was the cambered hairpin which is difficult to take in any car, and the last corner which is also slightly cambered and slippery.

Sport hards are too far for this car, but I definitely think mediums are a good compromise. Anyone else who has the miata/mx-5 agree with me on this?

Also, for anyone who didn't know, brake balance can still be changed when tuning is set to prohibited.

I found it pretty fun on Sports Softs tbh, didn't feel like there was too much or too little grip. It felt like you could push hard consistently, but there was still a grip limit for it to go wrong, not like the car being on rails.

Didn't find understeer to be an issue either. As I was saying to Paul in his lobby earlier, even if tuning was available, I probably wouldn't change much in terms of setup! I am using trail braking extensively, throughout Spa at least, so that I am turning the car as much with the rear as possible. But that's my driving style which means I've maybe not picked up on any understeer that the car might have, so I rely heavily on the rear being stable, which of course it is.

Ultimately it'll be the same for everyone, understeer or not, which imo is great 👍

Will try Sports Mediums tomorrow but so far had no problems with running the Softs, feels good imo! Also Adam, go try Spa with Softs and let me know your laptimes? :sly:

but there was still a grip limit for it to go wrong, not like the car being on rails.

Really disagree here. On softs, the only corner around Spa I found the back stepped out was that long right hander with the downhill braking zone. I feel as if all the other cars you can just trail brake into (like you said) and then hammer the throttle and turn that wheel 90 degrees. The only thing you then have to worry about is if you go on the astroturf or not - not if your back end will step out.

Don't have any lap times, only had enough time to have a few short races with Josh testing mediums v softs. :p Mediums are definitely the more realistic tyre, but softs are easier to use. We'll see what everyone else has to say.

the point is it grips nicely on sports softs but its not too much, i personaly reckon the suspension and chassis is the reason for its planted cornering not the tyres its just the mx5 handles that damn good :D :sly:
