Mediums are definitely the more realistic tyre, but softs are easier to use. We'll see what everyone else has to say.

Definitely agree. However, I ran a 5 lap race around the ring with tyre wear on. Around lap 3, the softs did start to feel a lot like the meds, and there we're barely any tyre wear.

Turbo I may need to switch with someone for division #1 I really wanted still in #2 but the time will conflict my work schedule. if not I'll figure something out.

That's fine, if you can find someone to switch with you.

Also, I'm going to allow everyone to switch up their color scheme if they want for now. However, once you find the colors that you want and have your driver image taken (see below) you are stuck with those colors for good.

Edit: Here's that image in case anyone missed it.

Cool because I was rethinking things and I'd like to go with white wheels.

I havent driven the car yet. The Miatas on previous season had Sports Medium right? So just keep it at that, or if this MX5 is faster than the other Miata then move it up to Sports Soft. We cant base it on 2 people's opinions only. We have to base it on the majority. All we gotta do now is wait for it to be out in NA and let people judge the car.

Very nice! Though, the flag makes it look very crowded. Maybe smaller? :p Just suggesting.

Also, is the car green or black?

If I may ask, what does this have to do with FMSC?
Last season there was a discussion of cutting the grid to 14. Which was the set-up for this season initially. Then Turbo expanded it to 16. My post - just a data point in connection quality after 2.0 update.

I havent had any problems in Spa so far. Been smooth and with full rooms. Could be the host connection. Also, was the room chat enabled? If yes, that pretty much explains the lag.

Oh, ok. We should really go by all of us drivers together due to connections differing between people. Hopefully we won't see lag. That would be terrible.

That's the image of the car that was shown with the DLC release announcement. Just an example. I'll update it with the right colors when I get my car...

There's so many factors that play into that though. We'll just have to do some testing before hand. It could have been anyone's connection that made it do that. In the Autumn Ring Reverse race last season, I was racing in slow motion until Coconut Coma lagged out, which freed up my screen.

^ you could use speedtest.net to find out who has the best connection and use them as a fixed host that way everyone is connected through them.

Also It's a bit rubbish you can only get 1 of each of the dlc cars, would have been nice to be able to keep one stock and get another tuned up. I'm gona test my mx-5 2moro check it out on sport meds, hope we're allowed to tune suspension ect like to tune up my car during the week before races :)

Just found out if you want another DLC car or paint ect you need to buy DLC again :(

I just ran a speed test and came across as Grade C. :(

With the "no tuning" thing checked, that means Zero tuning.

Good thing about speed test is that you can test your connection with loads of different servers so If you have some people from uk usa and europe or whatever you can test how well you connect with each region or country If you can find someone in the middle of everyone envoled with good internet you've hit the jackpot. But your always gona get some sort of lag at some point during the series unless we're all hard wired in the same room lol

I'm sure I can live with the no tuning ....might actually stop me messing about with my car and get me to focus on actually driving it lol

Is this actually how it works? I seriously don't know. Does the host's connection impact all the other cars' connections?

In the final race of the first Integra season one person (not the host) left their torrent client running (downloading via p2p) and they lagged the whole race, knocking other people off the track. Although, no one else had their connection effected.

It's much less about the strength of the room host than the compatability of the players in the room. We've tried using the person with the best connection but, as I said, it's more about one's connection and how compatible it is with every one else.

^ yeah wardez thats a better way of putting it

there's my connection

I can't get pictures... so...

Pingest.net
Grade A :sly:
Ping: 25 ms
Jitter: 3 ms
Packet Loss: 0%

Speedtest.net
Grade A :sly:
Ping: 27 ms
Download Speed: 18.72 Mbps
Upload Speed: 6.07 Mbps

Now tell me, other then the Grade A, is this good?

try connecting to a server on the west coast ED

When it comes to my internet, my download/upload is lacking. However with online gaming ping tends to be the most important. From experience on games such as Team Fortress 2, a ping of under 100 will get the job done. Any higher than that and it starts to noticeably effect gameplay. Of course GT5 is a different game so it's not exactly the same, but regardless the lower your ping is the better.

EDIT: Cool, free Stealth GTR (for North America only)

Go get your free stealth GT-R.

hah, that was awesome to hear, really cool little consolation prize.

At least I'll have something cool to race against all my friends new TC's till the 25th x)

Just for kicks:

I'm certain that at least for GT5, the one with the weakest connection drags the whole room down.

I rather have Sony fix the DLC issues than give us new cars(not entirely new actually). Sony is ruining Gran Turismo with their marketing BS. Come on Kaz, I know you can do it and convince those greedy bastards to change GT5's DLC to the old policy.
