I agree with you guys on some points, but I'd hate to change the schedule up with only a week to start.

Certainly the replay would be great as a tool for learning and improving! Not only for me, but maybe for other fellow racers. Thanks.

here you go: http://www.gate19.net/temp/ntscreplay.zip

I second that.

And the worst part is that the waiting game, can be the waiting game for the end of your race. If the guy in front of you makes a big mistake, theres nothing you can do to get away from him.

But believe it or not, the races we did it yesterday on Madrid, were more clean then the ones i had on Spa today.

Spa was filthy today. Pile up after pile up at the bus stop chicane. Spent more time trying to stay out of the fray more than anything. But it was also lagging like crazy. (probably because the host admitted to having a bad connection and the room bombed when he left so it must have been 'fixed host' which is a cocktail of fail.) so; grain of salt.

I think I'm losing my edge when it comes to online racing. Either that or everyone has improved so much that I'm becoming a back marker.

So frustrating. Me and this car are just not getting along.

Turbo, you'll be fine. You are one of the fastest dudes I know and where you excel is your ability to dissect a track and evaluate where you need to go faster and then going out and doing it. That plus your ability to lay down fast lap after fast lap after fast lap after fast lap after fast lap after fast lap is why you are always running at the front when it counts. I have no doubt you will figure this car out sooner rather than later and come the first race of the season I will be staring at your taillights on the grid.

It could just be the effects of Spec 2.0 since I know it has made me more consistent. Not sure if I'm faster but I can definitely hold my own unlike before.
The only track I've run so far that I'd question is Madrid. You just cannot pass there, unless the driver in front makes a mistake, or you're a ton faster then them.
I was on both ends last night, all I had to do to keep my lead my drive error free, and to pass you just have to play the waiting game.
The real issue is 10-14 cars entering turn 1, I foresee a great crash involving (at least) half the field.

Other then that I take tracks I dislike as an extra challenge, just Madrid worries me for more reasons, even more so then Monaco.

Figured I'd voice that now, just so I said it ahead of time, don't want to sound sour about it, I just fear the worst for that race.
I've raced there in the GT4 Cup twice and we were driving faster cars with racing hards and we had no major problems. Then again, passing was still a pain so qualifying is going to be critical.

Oddly enough, I like Madrid forwards and I hate it backwards. I realized this during GT Academy.
I actually prefer Autumn Ring in the Reverse direction. :p
Same. 👍
Funny, I absolutely hate El Capitan. Has no rhythm to me at all.
I loved it except the middle section. Far too narrow for my taste.

Yeah I agree with that. It had one fun section at the beginning but then it all ragged. He is right about Apricot Hill... that track was mad fun in GT2.

IDK, I made some choices during that last race that kept me up with you guys for one lap, then my next one came back and bit me in the ass at the start of lap 2, effectively ending my race. I won't make those kind of choices during an actual race though.

I don't quite remember what you did other than spinning exiting La Source.

On a side note, there was an actual flying Miata sighting today. :dopey:

Don't get me wrong, I like Madrid, and I can turn pretty good laps on any city track generally, I just know some people will be unhappy after the race, whether it's a pileup, unavoidable accident in front of them, or getting stuck behind someone slower for a lengthy period, etc.
Just figured I'd throw it out there, that's all.

BTW - You guys are crazy, El Capitan was phenomenal, absolutely loved that track. :)

It was all sorts of messed up. Thought I could correct the car a certain way and it didn't quite work like I wanted. I tried to feed it and it bit me. :dopey:

Edit: Just ran a 2:38.202. :D

..... in a 2003 Honda Accord.

It seems I have a dilemma on my hands. My wife has decided she wants to see her family in TX for Thanksgiving this year which means I will be out of town for Twin Cities and Spa (which I've been really looking forward to, btw).

I'm working on some contingencies --bringing along my PS3, borrow her cousin's PS3, etc. However, I'm thinking maybe I should give up my spot for someone who is certain to make all six races.

What say you, Turbo? It's your series so I'll let it be your call.

It's your spot, you make the call. ;)

I just posted 3 more driver graphics. Starting to fill in nicely, but unfortunately we're still missing quite a few of them. If you haven't submitted a photo yet for your graphic, please do ASAP.

Shaden I'll get yours done shortly, depending on what you choose to do with your situation.

That's just wrong!

I dialed my force feedback to 4 and no change in lap times. Still a 2:38.9 at Spa, 1:32.5 at Trial Mountain, a 2:05.2 at GVR Reverse, 1:32.6 at Madrid and a 1:36.0 at that track I'm growing to hate more and more. You know which one I'm taking about.

Even real race car drivers have tracks that they hate, and they just have to deal with it. ;)

NOTICE EVERYONE:
We have open spots in each division that need to be filled. I have a lot of reserve drivers on my list, but about 90% of them have not even checked into this thread or shown up at practices. If you are a reserve driver and want a guaranteed spot, PM me ASAP!

Still trying to obtain photo. It was really hard to get on yesterday. Hopefully today I'll get a picture in and some practice with you guys. 👍

As soon as the NASCAR race is over tomorrow, I may host a practice room (connection willing) for the whole night and we'll practice all the tracks on the schedule, including Laguna.

Well, I'm gonna do what I can to make my 'contingency' plans work. So I'm gonna stay in. Hopefully thing go to plan. If things don't go to plan, I'll at least do my best to respect the rules laid out in the OP and give the appropriate notice.

Food for thought, her cousin may not have DLC - just take your own with, that's what I would do. :D

Fools I say!

I tried to add you Turbo, but your PSN friends list is full, anyone else I can grab the Twin Cities Raceway Park off of?

Are you keeping the Black/Silver scheme? If so, I can get the picture right now from a Laguna Seca replay that I saved.

Lots of space now.

I just cleared out a bunch of people.

Also, jumps? Me? Forgetaboutit.

Good to know. Unless you're kidding...:scared:

If you don't mind I'll add you then anyway, never hurts to be able to click the orange button to follow. :)

Check my track maker link in my sig. Twin Cities is actually featured in that thread. ;)
I need to check out some of those tracks you've made. Maybe I'll actually like one of them.

On a side note, how about letting some of us submit a track for possible inclusion for next season? I have a few that I've made. ;)

Works for me. We are also going to have a rookie category that uses the old car in Season 4 that will require noobs to drive before they can move up to the new car.

@ MULE: I need a new picture of your car as the one that you posted isn't exactly at the right angle and the front is shadowed.

Had a feeling you'd say that. Should get another one up soon.

Yes. I guess you could do that. Go ahead, it seems I might not actually get on at all today. 👎 Plus this would save time.

The "Cliff" after the tunnel is amazing.

On another note, I did a little 2-lap online race by myself to get a replay to take another picture from. Hit a 2:43.7 on the flyer, so my lap times are definitely falling. I'll still finish last at Trial Mountain, though. :(

Since you are talking about free spots, I kind of feel interested lol! I really like the idea of not having to build a setup, that removes the inequality between those who are food at finding setups and those who do trial and error (like me!)

The car is also really fun to drive and the practice races were clean and fast so I'll keep everyone updated about my decision.

Some pics for you to use if you prefer them to the one you took:
