I want one.
6500 RPM for an overhead cam 5.0 V8 is screaming?Maybe compared to the 302 Windsors. Sounds like a winner, though.

They said peak power, not redline.

Any engine of that displacement at that price point, with that much metal moving around, hitting 8000-8500RPM at redline, would run for about a month of driving like that, and then send something through the block. Even stronger components would be needed for a race engine revving that high.

I'll play nice with this:

Oh snap.
No. Horsepower peak is at 6500 RPM.And did I read 390tq at 6,500RPM?
In all seriousness, I am curious about the size/weight of the new engine.
Now I'm reading that IRS would've been cheaper to implement than the solid axle after all. Hopefully that means we'll get it, as an option at the very least, in the future.
At the very least, I'm sure it'll be standard on the next generation car. Apparently that isn't too far away since the current one isn't that much more than an update of a previous car?
Re: Screamers, why would you want a screamer anyway?Cross-plane cranks ftw!

I wonder when Falcon gets it and what the XR8 and FPV numbers will be (if the XR8 still exists by that time as they were talking about leaving V8s just to FPV).
LOL, someone should import some FPV badges and chuck them on their modified 5.0L Mustang.![]()

Good god almighty I think Ford's just taken the pony/muscle car wars and run away with it. Nothing within $25,000 of the sticker price will come close to the numbers.
Indeed. But, we've got nearly 6-8 months before these come out, so Chevrolet still has time to step up the Camaro.Given how the current one does, that'll be THE car to have for a RWD coupe.
