Oli should stay in this lower pressure environment for a bit longer and aim for a Ferrari seat in 27 or 28.

He still has a bit of work to do, but the potential is there for sure.

Shocked that both Racing Bulls made Q3. And Bearman with another solid lap, as well and Charles and Oscar.

Realistically that's what's gonna happen anyway. I don't think he'll quickly move away from Ferrari, and both Leclerc and Hamilton have contracts.
I can see Hamilton potentially leaving after next year if things don't go well, but that would still make 2027 the earliest opportunity for Bearman.
And I don't think that's a bad thing.

I must've woken up too early for the Sprint... just noticed Gasly and Hulk made Q3.

edit: Landoooooo! Nice gap for provisional pole.

Bit of a double-edged sword. If Ferrari nail the new regs Lewis might want to stay. If they don’t and he leaves, might not be much of an upgrade over Haas for Oli.

Great lap by Lando. He seems to have woken up towards the end of the season and is the only one of the title contenders performing like someone who wants to win the Championship. Game on for tomorrow

Lando nailed it when he had to, although a bit presumpteous to park it by the no 1 whilst Kimi was still on track and close

If Lando wins tomorrow, I'm guessing Max will want to at least secure a podium to keep title hopes somewhat optimistic. Otherwise, a 4th place finish puts him at 338 & Lando at 390 after this weekend. I might have mixed up numbers b/c I was never a math whiz, but in that scenario, if Max then wins the next 3 races & the sprint, that would put him at 421 points. If Lando however, also finishes at least 5th in the next 3 races & the sprint, I believe that'll land him at 424 points.

The scary thing is Max is capable of accomplishing this.

If it stays dry tomorrow I don’t see how Max could get a podium.

May be some rain early in the morning but all clear for a dry race.

If Piastri doesn’t find someway to get ahead of Norris tomorrow it looks like game over. He may not even get past Leclerc and Antonelli. The decision to stop development really hurt his chances. Before he had a buffer to slot into 2nd when Lando was faster. Now the safety net has gone.

In the end Lando has been more consistent over the season. He kept it close when the initial car favoured Oscar’s driving style, and now is maximising the advantage when the upgrades have shifted it his way. No conspiracy either - I’m sure all the calculations say this way is faster, Oscar just hasn’t adapted to it. The problem is having two lead drivers with quite different driving styles.

A podium is a long shot, but it's something that's still crazily achievable if things go his way. Regardless, he'll want to at least secure some decent points.

Personally though, I think Vegas' results will be the decider for Max's title odds. I think a Lando podium will narrow it down to the remaining two.

As talented as Max is, it ain't gonna happen.

There is no way Max will win all remaining races and Lando won't make a podium.

I think Max is talented enough to win the remaining races. As much as I'm not a fan, the guy did go on a short resurgence from Monza to Austin.

But, I do agree, the odds of Lando not securing podiums is where it becomes nigh impossible for Max. I was merely working out that even with Max having the capability to win the remaining maximum amount of points, Lando could technically afford to finish outside the podium and still deny Max his 5th, hence why I think a Lando podium in Vegas likely shuts the door on Max's contention.

Been backing Piastri for the championship since the start of the season but I feel a bit disappointed by his recent form and performance. At the start of the season he was so clinical with a level of consistency that you only see from the greats but then it just look like the wind has been taken from his sail. He's got no where near as much pace as Lando in the races and he's making silly mistakes that he can't recover from. Meanwhile Lando has just been a lot more consistent and has gone from strength to strength. He looks like the more hungrier of the 2. I never doubted his speed but it's quite impressive to see how much he's pushing for it. If the championship goes his way this season, it will be a well deserved title for Lando. I'm sure he knows he has to win this one too just like he did in Mexico.

Let's see what Max can do from relatively the same place he started last year in a car that is not as good as last year. Lewis sounds like he's already given up saying he can't do much from his starting position. The RBs set to bag some good points if they can hold positions. This could be a entertaining race to watch.

Would be hilarious if this would now lead to tire failures.
