I feel that the circuit itself is just too small for F1. It's for MotoGP and low powered touring car in mind, to be honest.

Looks like there still was an engine issue. He did get off the line very well
 
Looks like Gasly was the meat in an F1 sandwich. Not sure if he got squeezed by the Alfa or if Gasly was being a bit too adventurous.

I think it's fully a racing incident, and nobody really did anything stupid. Track just gets more narrow, and everyone got squeezed a bit

And with greater knowledge and/or experience a driver should know when to back out a bit if there's room to. Some may not have had that room but it looked like Gasly might have
