FINALLY I got this car, stupid thing now is I can't drive the Formula Championship untill Monday or so, damned! And by the way, count 5.8 mil in for the car, not 4.8 because the engine overwhal and chassis repair together costs...you guessed it...another 1mil, but I guess it's worth it if you want that B-spec Bob can win the championship.

I paid the extra million also, but I've heard that you don't really need the engine rebuild, just the oil change.

I would agree. Unless the car actually looks damaged when in the garage I wouldn't go near this rip-off nonsense.
I have driven countless second hand cars so far and after an oil change they drive like a brand new showroom car 👍

I've only ever done the rebuild/chassis on my Stealth Mclaren F1... because it's cheap at 500cr. I can happily throw the thing into walls without worrying of damage. All my other cars, I try to baby as much as possible... I haven't done a rebuild on them, and have yet to see wear and tear that would require a rebuild, but maybe it's just me.

I had a number big collisions with others in the Formula GT races, but I still managed to catch them and win, regardless of what condition the car may have been in.

Spending 1,000,000 credits on an engine rebuild and chassis refresh is completely unnecessary. The max your hp will drop after an oil change is 50, from 935 to 885. My Formula GT is near 16,000 miles and I've done neither, my chassis is still fine. My B-spec driver had no problems winning the championship with the car in this condition.

Save your money, it's not worth it.

After a day and a half of UCD surfing, I came in and guess what popped up? The Formula Gran Turismo! If you are looking for this car, it will come if you keep trying. And to think, I almost got frustrated and spent the money! :dopey:

So the race you have to grind to unlock at level 23 you then have to go back and grind even more to unlock the only car you can use in the game for it at level 24 plus hope it shows in the used lot when you have the 4.8 mil to drop on it? Why make it level 23 if it is impossible to play at level 23? Are the car and event level guys not on speaking terms with each other?

I'm lvl 32 in both A-spec and B-spec now, still not seen the FGT turn up. As for engine rebuilds and chassis, they are not needed unless the engine has run a lot of miles. My Minolta ran 7000miles before its power with clean oil started to drop, that is when it is time to refresh, if the FGT car is at 935bhp with new oil then the engine is fine.

Even if the option is available, it does not mean that it is needed.

It's still really not needed even when the power drops unless you consider ~50hp worth 500k credits. A Minolta at around 990hp still dominates, as does a Formula GT at 885.

There's a quicker way to get the Formula GT but it still requires a bit of patience. Firstly make sure you have over 4.8m cr to buy it, then go to licence test and select a test but instead of starting it select 'next licence', repeat this 4 times and the used car lot will be totally refreshed. Like I said it still takes some patience but I got it within a couple of hours as opposed to a few days waiting for it to just show up.

I used this method to get my FGT and it worked. Probably took about me around 8 tries. I was checking the used car lot after every race for days. Thanks for the tip man. ...👍

I'm doing this right now for the 15th time and still now FGT... hope this does not take too long :P

If GT5 was supposed to be realistic you should have to do an engine replacement (rebuild will cover that I guess) every 2000km otherwise you don't just get a loss in power you get a catastrophic failure.

And in that respect i am glad its not. The advantages of simulation is that things don't have to break, which i am fine with.

I understand why you can't have a race full of F1 cars-- licensing and what not. but that just makes me wish even more that they would have gotten an IRL license. Darn.

repeated the license method 100times or so and after 1,5 hours i finally got it and than recognized that i have to train my driving skill for that beast! Monaco and Suzuka are a nightmare with that thing:grumpy: but no problems in monza while it was raining... was alot of fun 👍

I had rain in Suzuka, and it was the easiest race of the series for me. Everything happens slower, so it's less stressful, and you make less mistakes.

Maaaaan...Finally it showed up in my lot. Only took me about 4-5 hours of doing the license test thing...It's a good and fast car, wish it was a premium though as it looks pretty poor when you are in the "hood/roof" view.

Do we exit the License Test when sitting at Test 5? Or do we hit Next one more time, exiting on Test 6?

I ask because I had the BMW V12 listed as new when I started the Test Trick. It was still there as new after I exited the TT on Test 5. Unless a duplicate showed up 2 full cycles in a row???

Hi to fellow Michigander,

Go to B1, then click next license until you get to B5. Then exit and go to used car lot. It will have 30 new cars. Make sure you don't go to B6, otherwise you'll miss one day and it could be the day that the car you're looking for is there.

Just picked one up, pretty happy it didn't take too many refreshes (about 10-15 or so, wasn't counting).

So what's the verdict on what I should do to it? Obviously, I did the oil change, but I heard some people saying you don't need to do anything else to it and it'll still perform well enough?

Just do the oil change. No need to waste 1,000,000.

5 solid hours of refreshing and still no joy, i'm getting really fed up with this, its the worst flaw in the game, why couldn't he have put it in the new dealer section.

Exit on the Fifth License Test.

This means you've had 5 loading screens in total, 1-5 and will result in a completely new Used Car Lot.
