When it comes to the physics , there seems to be two levels to physics that I seem to pick up on,
The first is this high level car feel, the one where you throw it around and how quickly it swaps ends and that kind of thing, In this regard I find FM4 a bit dialled back from GT5 and PC Sims.. A bit 'soft'..
Then there is the whole 'progression' and feel of the grip levels, how the tyres let go, how many 'variables' seem to contribute to the grip, etc and in that regard, I find Forza offers something that even some PC Sims lack, which is very good 'feel' and a really nuanced handling model.
It has never surprised me that FM/GT get debated on their physics, because they do excel in different areas, and depending on your own 'preferences', you are going to probably side with one game over the other..
I will say for me, when hotlapping etc, where it's all about driving on the limit and having as much feedback/feel for the car, I much prefer FM, it's just more rewarding on that front, even the FFB (you get much more sense of slip angle, even if artificially amped), you get the feeling of being on the curbs quite well communicated etc..
But when I pop in GT5, even though I do find it numb in many ways low down, I do like how quickly the cars can rotate, like every car is on a knife edge and if anything this effect is probably too amplified to real life, but it's also entertaining and offers it's own rewarding challenge..
But comparing the Zonda challenge in FM4 to the recent SLS seasonal in GT5, I much prefer what FM offers it just suits my own prefences..
