How did you come to that conclusion mate?
I don't know about the full game, but in the demo I took out the Cougar, burned some rubber for a couple of minutes and when I later checked the tire wear it was like 2-3%.
How did you come to that conclusion mate?
Something was going on for sure with Rivals mode yesterday around 7:00 EST. I was able to do 1 challenge, then after that it didnt work for a couple hours. Kept getting "Forza 4 server is unavailable". Plus something is going on with xboxlive for sure. I am not getting party chat invites or game invites half the time. So its not just you, something is going on with xboxlive again for sure. It was messing up over the weekend too. Later that night rivals mode started working again and was a blast!Well I had a total nightmare getting the demo yesterday.
With it sat in my queue it should have been a case of just switching on the 360 and waiting, until my broadband picked then to crap out.
Managed over the course of 3 hours to download it in bit and pieces and then have a quick go at the single races (was not able to try Rivals as I couldn't keep a connection long enough).
Broadband seemed fine this morning before I left for work, so fingers crossed I can actually have a real go tonight (no to mention that no broadband means no BF3 beta and that makes me a sad bunny).
Scaff
Make sure you check out Rivals mode. Its the highlight of the demo for sure. Especially the Zonda race and the BMW race.I had no idea a demo was out! I'll be downloading it later, and enjoying it with a pad without worrying about teeny steering assist issues. Some people need to go outside and realise there's a whole world out there to explore and that steering assists aren't really important at all if the game is still fun!
Everything in the demo is plain ****ing awesome. Love it.So WHAT are people ENJOYING about the demo. Anyone some GOOD things to say, are YOUR impressions good/mixed/bad?
Very much my opinion.Improved visuals, improved handling, massively improved and nuanced ffb, improved sound, it's a hugely enjoyable and rewarding driving experience. I think it's great and a huge step from FM3.
The only problem I had is that the demo seems dark at points especially the interior. I am guessing its probably my HDTV. I will have to work with the TV settings again for F4.
Oh that is GREAT news. That was one of my complaints with F3 was that I could not adjust anything IN GAME. I had to adjust my HDTV but still had issues with the darkness of the game. Having in game adjustment will be greatly appreciated. 👍Those lucky enough to have a green disc have confirmed that there is the option to adjust brightness/gamma/contrast in the full release.
It's most likely because of the high-contrast track. The only problem I had is that the demo seems dark at points especially the interior. I am guessing its probably my HDTV. I will have to work with the TV settings again for F4.

Also, I don't know which demo some people have been playing, but in my version losing traction happens very quickly if you're not "gentle" with the steering. And it's not easy to recover (even if admittedly not as hard as it should be).
Much improvement over FM3 👍
👍I don't get comments about the game being super-grippy, because, at least in the two cars I've used, they will swing their tails out over 100mph with only slight provocation, which is a welcome surprise.
I think a simple way of describing it would be that the cars feel much more "alive" than in FM3, where admittedly they could feel a bit "tame".
FM3 allows you to take a photo any time anywhwere you want during the campaign. GT5 would only allow you to take a photo after your race was finished in the campaign and then you were not able to rewind the replay. So if you were on lap 3 and missed your shot, you had to start the replay over. That sucked.Excited to see what Photomode is like, since I can't say I'm a huge fan of FM3's compared to GT5, though that's probably just familiarity speaking on my behalf at this point. Still don't even know my way around the 360 system itself too much, after all.
Actual picture quality sucked though due to compression. But this year looks light years better in every aspect.FM3 allows you to take a photo any time anywhwere you want during the campaign. F3 allows you to rewind and do anything you want to get the perfect shot. Or at any time during the race in the campaign you can just hit pause, go to photomode, and take a picture. Then instantly upload it to the forza site for others to view. And you could also put it into your file share from there. Its a lot better than the GT5 photo mode. Not talking about Photo travel, just the photomode while racing. So if you didnt use the F3 photomode much, then you missed out big time. It was and is miles ahead of the GT5 in game photo mode.
That is true. The pic that was uploaded to the site never looked anywhere near as good as the game. I really do wish we could just transfer the pics onto the USB but oh well. I guess T10 and Microsoft dont want everyone to see how great F3 or F4 really look.Actual picture quality sucked though due to compression. But this year looks light years better in every aspect.

Still concerned about the F4 pics. Some look great and some look terrible. So its still having compression issues for sure. Because the demo looked WAY better than the pics that have been posted from the site.
Yea, but at least they are giving us the "Big Photo" option that has no compression. May be a hassle though since you can only have a few of them at a time. I definitely agree about the USB.That is true. The pic that was uploaded to the site never looked anywhere near as good as the game. Thats a good description. I hadn't played anything but the FM4 demo from when I got it on Saturday until last night when I took part in my weekly GT5 comp. I was pleasantly surprised how close the two felt. I'd still give the crown to GT5 for the best handling but FM4 has massively stepped upto the plate and is snapping at it's heels.
You should quote the person that your reply is directed at. Who is that directed at?? I dont seen anyone named Buttsneeze.Buttsneeze :
so that we are on the same page : What kinda of high performance car have you driven on track in real life ?
Every modern car has some for of assist in the steering. Only car like F1 have direct input to the wheel. Everything else is power steering assist. On my car, I can even change the steering mode I want : Sport, Comfort or Standard.
Traction control and ABS is so effective that they took it out of F1. So please don't tell me I can't be competitive if I have them on while I drive.
Note : I drove a 2012 Mustang V6 with PP package (305hp - 280lb torque).

the noise of the car is the same as FM3 also no change if you use cockpit view or external view...
the track is absolutely EASY...no one difficult turn and also is extremely large...seems to be an autobahn!!!
for the rest nothing special, GT5 is better for me.
I hope the full game with all the personalizations of the cars looks better.
Do not confuse power steering with steering assistance. I'm no expert on current steering devices but I'm pretty sure the steering wheel is still mechanically tied to the front wheels (meaning they are directly tied). You just have a power assistance on top of it (which can be adjusted in some cars, as you pointed out).Buttsneeze :

I break traction in most gears in the Zonda if I don't drive carefully.
