Some confirmed cars are indeed not available to be bought in the full game, for example the E36 doesn't appear in the autoshow, or upgrade heroes, but it is in game and it got a bodykit to go along with it.
Also the Murcielago SV got a LB bodykit and it doesn't appear in the upgrade heroes section as well, I couldn't check in the autoshow, since they were scrolling way too fast through it in the stream, but I believe all cars that have any sort of kits would be in the upgrade heroes.
But however, it appears as a wheelspin prize somewhere in the stream:
So yeah, it seems like some cars have to be earned in a way instead of just bought from the autoshow. Or maybe the build they have for the stream is outdated.
I don't think those cars you're referring too @Boxout will be only available by wheelspin. I have a feeling this is where midnight battles comes in. There are four cars so far that can't be obtained through the autoshow or skill tree and don't make sense for barn finds:
These cars would be perfect rewards for a pink slip midnight battle; they all have real life widebody kits available and it looks like all these cars will have them in the game (based on the E36 and Murcielago having them) so I believe that's where these cars will be available in the game. It'll probably be confirmed soon though.
Cars from the official car list not in the preview build buy cars section (Possible Barn Finds)
^ That's possible as well.
I'm okay with either way, I've always liked the idea of having to earn "special" cars through the career, kind of like the early GT games.
Just want to post this to complement @willbsn13 about the missing 4 cars from the autoshow.
SlapTrain uploaded a video showcasing the auction house feautres, and in the search, there is a filter for "Midnight Cars" along with "Barn Finds" and "Horizon Edition" so I guess this pretty much confirms that the missing 4 cars are meant to be acquired through the street races.
Badned at Forza Central confirm that M3 E36, RX-7 and Murcie SV are rewards for Midnight battles.
when you reach a certain reputation level in street races you can challenge one of the Street Kings in a one on one "Midnight Battle" where you can win their car if you beat them.
