Not sure people have reached this stage in the game yet buuuuuut;

Anybody else finding themselves participating in the forzathon live events?

I love that when it pops up, you can see people driving towards the pop-up location. Much more social than anything we've ever had in Forza Horizon.

It's fun seeing all the different rides people use for challenges and they also help progress you in Horizon Life which is nice too!

I'm hoping they keep updating the challenges with new areas, objectives and even rounds. I haven't done the same one twice yet but I imagine it will get repetitive after a few weeks.

Still getting much more enjoyment out of it that I thought I would seeing pre-release.

Too excited to sleep, wake up at 5AM expecting FH4 to be installed and ready to play as it had less then 3GB left to download when I went to bed. I get up, go to my PC, Download restarts from the beginning. I'm pissed, weekend ruined.
 
Yippie, I've got an extra long, end of the month/ end of the quarter, busy day to get through first! Looking forward to trying it out tonight and this weekend, though.
 
I had a fright this morning when I saw the DL progress had stalled, thankfully the store was just being weird as it was fully installed but just didn't update the progress. Now for a hopefully not too long day of work (schedule doesn't look that bad, but they can always add crap) before having some fun. :D
 
Nice... still haven’t played the full version. Midnight came and every time I tried to start Forza it would just crash instantly without loading anything. So I figured it’s not installed correctly. Uninstalled and started downloading and when to bed.

Woke up, it’s installed. Tried to run, same thing!!! Started installing drivers for anything on my PC that was out of date. Didn’t help.I then looked around the web and saw that MSI afterburner onscreen display could cause this. Sure enough, turned it off and it starts. What a waste of time....

Awd cars feel nerfed a bit but they still the way to go for high power setups.

Failrace's Alex Day did some investigation and it looks like the two cars he tuned to handling beat the AWD high power builds on the courses he tried so it looks like AWD has indeed been nerfed slightly.

 
Aaaaah. Demo worked fine with CSL Elite but the full version has an E-brake known issue. Car is undriveable and you first have to make progression via the Autumn 'tutorial' before being able to do anything else. Seems my son and I have to wait for a 'Day one patch' to arrive. Probably Oct 2.....

I also tried to map TH8A as analog handbrake but this does not work. Back to demo again for the moment. If anyone has a solution I happy to read it.
 
Damn, i have same problem with handbrake. T-GT as wheel, TH8 as shifter, SQV1.5 as handbrake.
You can map the fanatec shifter as handbrake but if you leave the menue it reset the binding. I tryed so many diffrent ways now, its a bug.
In the demo version everything was great and worked. DAMN:(
It kills the fun soo bad if you cant use your hardware, i need handbrake!
 
I managed to play for two hours before going to bed, and the full game was a nice surprise on Xbox One after the sluggish and slightly underwhelming experience I had with the demo. In comparison the launch build looks and plays really great on the old hardware. I didn't even get to see the entire map, but I noticed plenty of geographical variety and the urban sprawl surrounding Edinburgh seemed much more believable that what we saw in Surfers Paradise. I look forwarding to exploring everything more.

Other first impressions would be that the beginning of the game is too damn drawn out and linear. Keira just kept introducing stuff to the point where I was fed up with the myriad of introductions to different characters, series and events. I just wanted to get back into the good old Horizon universe collecting cars and doing my own thing without constant guidance. Maybe it's just me, but developers need to realize that players just want to play on their own terms as quickly as possible.

Something I already brought up in another thread that still confuses me... Why does the skill progression HUD not appear until after unlocking the Autoshow? By the time it first appeared I was already at skill level 4, but up until that point the game didn't show my skill progression in any way. Bug or funny design choice?
 
When you've already finished all showcase events and nearly champion of the lot.... Adoring this game to bits, only thing I don't like are the fences :lol: in Horizon 3 it was trees!
Oh and the Escort you have an option to take at the start has become my favourite car to drive! upgraded all it's skill points and all. It's safe to say I'm an addict.

The E28 M5 sounds decent. Not too settled handling wise, but that's part of the charm too. I've amassed 1.7m credits already and I've only played 4 hours. Think I'll sink it on a Chiron.

Probably just a design decision to keep your focus elsewhere. By introducing it a little later it means that player focus can be on other things early on, and then they can take in the levelling up system once it's introduced a bit further down the line. Throwing everything at the player immediately is never a good idea!

I was also surprised when I found it in my list. I thought it was digital only. I'm sure @RandomCarGuy17 and other physical owners will surprised as well. Talk about lucky. :D

@ canada and usa, whats wrong with your internet? Biggest rockets but slowest internet infrastructure. :D Sounds like you download the game on a 56k modem. Is that wrong? Or the government of your country wants to keep you dumb by holding down the speed of information/download ? Or maybe just clap louder, so the hamster in the wheel run faster = better connection!?
