It is phenomenally piss-poor though, isn't it.

I remember one in FH4 with bikes and the Nomad, and the bikes would just smash me out of the way on the final stretch, in one giant "**** you" to physics.

Still, there was a reason I wrote this in the season change article...

Win the race (which will be frustrating due to the AI’s infinite density, in all senses) against the giant monster trucks

I have just done the hot wheels championship in the playlist and there are 2 things I'm not happy about. Why am I starting at the back on the grid when the difficulty is locked at highly skilled, why aren't I staring in 8th like usual? It's the same on all the races in hot wheels so far where I am forced to start at the back.

The other thing I'm not happy about is the vast differences in the times the A.I are putting in. On the twin loop speed circuit the fastest A.I had a best lap of 2:14.218 and the slowest was 2:40.123, that's nearly 26 seconds difference in lap time! It makes it nearly impossible to win since the lead A.I builds up a massive lead while I'm battling through the pack that are running much slower than the lead car.

Ahhhhhh the memories of that final corner, dropping down onto the bridge as you leave the woods in a car of any size/density only to be side swiped into next week by a Motocross bike. I remember it well @Famine

I had something similar, I think on the same track. Doing 300mph down one of the straights in an S2 Mosler, the lead AI in a Huayra was still accelerating away from me ahead. It ended up 45 seconds ahead of the other cars, even when I had caught and passed it.

Favourite bit of rubberband so far though was doing 225mph in class B, and having a Series III Land Rover come past like I was standing still. Yeah, right...

Yeah I had one race where I was fighting a deora 2 for 2 laps since it had gotten away at the start. Since they cheat with insane rubber banding I had no worries punting it into a road barrier.lol

The races are no fun when it's just 1 A.I that is unfairly fast. I have never seen a Land rover do that 😂 225mph in B class.

I was very much looking forward to driving the bonkers Sierra Alpha hillclimb buggy, but sadly it doesn't quite meet my expectations. There's so much downforce you get pretty much infinite grip, but that downforce comes with so much drag you don't have any acceleration or top speed. I was expecting that much, but when the AI has Divos and Vulcans and whatever else is in it's native class, you just get blown by on every straight-ish bit of road. Overall not that fun, sadly.

I came back to this game a few days ago for the Hot Wheels expansion and it's definitely worth the price of admission, even if it's the second of it's kind in Forza Horizon. I never had the chance to play Horizon 3 so I was excited to see that a new Hot Wheels expansion would arrive for this game. It may not be a long campaign but it's a lot of fun and I think the car selection is very good. Deora II has a great sound and handles surprisingly well for what's essentially a custom truck, whilst the Venom F5 is hilariously fast - a perfect fit for Hot Wheels. I like it a lot more than I expected.

Has anyone seen a livery for any of the Extreme E cars (ideally for the #44 as it’s the only one I’ve got at the moment but beggars can’t be choosers) that replicates last years Champions Kristofersson/Taylor? Big Molly Taylor fan hence why I ask. I’d give it a crack myself but for the minor detail of having no artistic talent whatsoever.

You are ghosted in online HW racing (not Tour) which is as good as single player imo. And if nothing else I really like to have a DLC map available for Open racing and hope all the future DLC maps will get the same option.

Now, thanks to HW expansion playlist I have learned of the strange nerf done to Bone Shaker.
Perhaps others already know this, but this car's rev limit in top gear is limited to 7000 rpm.

I was unaware of this nerf and had to re-set the gears many times.

Are you sure it's not related to the build? The build I'm using for HW only goes to 5000 rpm. It's a RWD A class build and can reach 245 mph in 4th gear. It's definitely not nerfed imo. But I'm not used to drive the BS so maybe you are right.
It's still OP in A class in the right hand. Did a almost perfect run(for my skills) in the meta build Tacoma and @RYAN was still 6 sec faster in the BS.

Either way, regardless of the gear ratio, for some reason this car seems to be set up so that the rpms do not go all the way up to the red zone in top gear.

I initially suspected excessive downforce or a gear ratio that was too wide for the power output, but then realized that this was a deliberate nerf by PGG, since no matter how the gear ratio is changed, the rpm limiter is always applied in top gear at a certain rpm, and the top speed changes regardless of that.

Who else is having the glitch where you can accelerate but not move.
Update: since I use hood and or cockpit cam, I didn't notice the brake was being stuck. When I checked the collaborations it was fine, I do not know why the brake is dragging.

A couple of minor tweaks to the game I think I noticed: DJ chatter now plays over the beginning of the record like on a real radio station. More usefully, the drone seems to have a much larger vertical range now which I found essential for scoping out those hard-to-reach XP boards. Too bad they didn't make it lava proof and it would be good if it had an option to bring up the world map and place a waypoint, too.

Car Collection rewards have all reset for me. I still have my 611 cars out of 637 total, but I can redeem every single reward I was eligible for... Again. Also, for some reason, my Horizon Open level jumped by 200 without explanation. I was in the high 170s before, I am now exactly Level 370.

What do I need to do to have all collection cars reset? The reason I’m asking is because just after the launch of FH5 the Ford GT40 collection reward bugged out of me and i had to contact support to give me the car via the in-game mail. But it doesn’t show me as the original owner of the car. 😕 So this bug seems to be a nice way to fix that.

The reason I’m asking is because just after the launch of FH5 the Ford GT40 collection reward bugged out of me and i had to contact support to give me the car via the in-game mail. But it doesn’t show me as the original owner of the car. 😕 So this bug seems to be a nice way to fix that.

As its payday and its 20% off in the summer sale, I've picked up the Deluxe pass to go with my Game Pass Ultimate Tight Wad Edition. I'm working through the HW tasks slowly, as with the main game at the start, to get longer enjoyment out of it.

The expansion rekindled my interest in the main game so I went back this week and finally started the Born Fast, V12 and Test Driver stories. They were so addictive I three starred everything in about eight or nine hours.

That just leaves Drift Club Mexico but I don't think I'm gonna be doing that one any time soon. Picked up a Mach-E in the Auction House instead.

Regarding bugged achievements, there is a member of TrueAchievements forum (but doesnt seem to be a member here) @Vudix who is working on discontinued achievements for many games in particular, but seems to have been involved with the fixed ones in the latest hotfix:

Yeah got One for all and back in the saddle achievements after yesterday patch too. It took about 15 minutes for both to pop up and now I'm back at 100% or 1615/1615.
Still doing some rivals and open in HW. Will definitely come back regularly since the driving is so much different from Mexico. And now that I know better all the tracks it's not that hard to race fast without wall riding/hitting. I really like the expansion.

The new Mosler is OK but it doesn't beat the MT900S for me. That car is so much fun to drive stock. I needed a tuned Huayra to beat the pack in Goliath though.

Yeah, it is a tad underwhelming. Super grippy, but otherwise fairly undramatic. I can see it being decent in S1, but its straight-line speed leaves a bit to be desired.

I've actually put a racing V8 inside that thing, and since has become my weapon of choice for certain events like my NIO EP9. The stock version did have grip, but it was too slow. Now it flies!

Oh, and thank goodness the two bugged achievements have finally been unlocked, but means my game is achievement free again. I wonder if the next expansion is going to come out this holiday season? I mean, Forza Motorsport is pretty much coming out in spring next year. I wonder if PG will tease it and release it maybe in January 2023? I dunno, but I'm curious. 🤔
