I have enjoyed this game with all of its amazing visuals and the car selection is still pretty good. I'm definitely am happy that I have a new computer now as I get to have a smoother experience with FH5 on it than how FH4 was on my aging original Xbox One. I mean, I still had a lot of fun on the og XB1, but I really felt like I needed to up my experience this time. As I said I would, I actually got rid of all of my Forza rewards and other cars except for some Forza editions, mainly because I don't want to have a headache trying to earn those again.
I'm having a hard time putting my finger on it, but the game feels more engaging than the previous one this time round. That could be due to it being a new game, but I still feel like I have more things to do that are compelling to me. I guess little things like making the avatar you play as a character. He interracts with the cast instead of just being mute, gives a bit more personality. Once again, it's not going to be a memorable story of course. This isn't something like Red Dead Redemption of The Last of Us. However, it's nice that it's there.
With that said, I'm having some gripes with the game aswell already. As some may feel, the game losing a lot of the cars from FH4 and being down to 500+ feels like a massive hit. Especially with the licensing problems with the Stellantis brands. Part of me is wondering why they could've keep more cars from the previous games. I know they have a licensing budget, but I figured it would be higher at the point. I mean, I recall FM7 having more at launch and Gran Turismo 4 having over 700 cars to license. Sure, some of GT's cars were duplicates, but they still were cars PD had to license each. Maybe the prices have changed since then on some brands? I don't know. Just something that bugs me.
While focusing on the cars, some of the brands still feel like they could use an update such as Audi for instance. The newest car from Audi is from 2016. A lot of new variants of existing models alongside new generations have come out since then. The RS3, R8 facelift, TTRS Coupe, the new RS6 Avant, new RS7, RS5, and not to mention the lack of older cars. It's really wierd they didn't add any as some cars like the TT RS and RS3 would make for great rival cars to the newer BMWs they added. Mayb
Outside of my ranting about the car list, there were other gripes. One of them are the server problems, I can't maintain a solid connection to the online servers. It's also annoying that I can't access the Forzathon shop and make use of the points I earned. I also have noticed issues with the Drivatar AI, they don't feel quite balanced. I can pass some easily, but one or two somehow get far ahead.
