It pains me to tell you this, as there are some people in this thread who have already bought it, but you should not buy DeLorean.
So-called "time travel" is one of PG's most hated forms of cheating. If you buy those cars, you risk having your account banned as well as the seller.

If the ban comes, I’m screwed then. Randomly found it in auction house and went and bought it.

I don’t think they are time travelling for it, apparently there is an exploit on getting it through the car collection page.

From what I’ve seen, that seems to be the case, Supposedly it’s not even tricky to pull off either.

You don't even have to get it from the auction house.

Go to Car Collection. Click on the first car for any manufacturer (there's only one DeLorean, so it's automatically first) and click on it. You'll get a popup saying "this car may appear as a reward in season events, festival playlists, or Forzathon shop". Back out with the B button. Then go back and try to buy it. You can now buy it at its regular price. 15,000 credits for the DeLorean. And you can keep doing that. Buy as many DeLoreans as you like. And yes, this works with any car that is first in the manufacturer's list.

I don't know if that counts as ban-worthy because no one is cheating. This is all completely in-game. I haven't tried this myself yet, but I plan to as soon as I get home. I'm not the biggest DeLorean fan, but if I can get it now instead of later and do it without modifying the game or XBox, then I'm going get one.

Edit: Turns out it doesn’t work on the XBox.

I created an event, check it out. It's at the Colossus, "Japan esta en Mexico", Japan cars, S1. Traffic is ON, and the weather is Clear. There was an option for Rules, aparently you can set up consequences if certain 'things' happen. I couldn't figure it out so I just left it alone. Overall a really nice run, point to point. 30 something miles, lots of turns, competition was good, and the traffic was a fair amount. This is a big improvement. I hated the traffic in FH4, which always seemed like "heat seeking missiles" out to ruin your good time. Here, you can see the cars and avoid them while navigating the other racers and minding the gates. A much more pleasurable racing experience. And you're much less apt to throw your controller at your TV in frustration. I am liking the racing much more in FH5!

Guys, just play the game normal. Why do this Willy Jeep thing? Why cheat time to get the DeLorean now? And then those guys cheating on the leaderboards… 🙄 It’s quite disrespectful to the devs IMO who have done an incredible job on this game. If you want to bend or break the rules, then go spend some time in event lab. ☺️

Money is easy to come by anyway. I already own all player houses and got 6 mill credits in the bank and counting. I haven’t bought a single car from the AH or autoshow yet, not even from my free one-time purchase voucher. Why would I? I get thrown cars at my garage faster than I can even try them out. In contradiction to previous FH games, EVERY car in the game can now be won either from wheelspins, festival playlist or Forzathon shop. There are no cars exclusive to the autoshow anymore. If you play the game for the long run (which I assume most people on this forum do), you don’t need any credits to eventually get every car. I already got the 250 Testa Rossa, Jesko and Enzo as my best value wheelspin rewards so far (currently 145 cars in my garage). The only ‘farming’ I do is take out a good skill point car when the radio DJ plays a skill song and go farm some skill points. Not to unlock those wheelspins in the cars, but to max out cars so I get better skill chains during events.

Anyway, enjoy your game! We are currently at 4,659,898 superstars. And that number will already be outdated when I hit submit. 😅

I honestly doubt they’d ban the buyer, I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of people that aren’t even aware it’s a future reward.

seems like it. friend of mine told me the same thing. got them by doing stories.

I haven’t done a single story yet, only focussed on the 4 racing types and I already have all barn finds unlocked. They are not tied to the stories for sure, but I always got a new barn find prompt after I upgraded a festival.

If for some reason they don’t trigger correctly, I’m sure PG will address it in a future patch. They sure got a LOT of stuff to patch. I have never ever seen any Forza game as bugged as this one. Nothing game breaking at all, but every playing session I see at least a handful of bugs.

I found something of an exploit last night that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere, if you get a Diablo and spend 65 skill points to unlock the car in its mastery tree you can sell both for a total of about 3.5 million credits on the AH, get your skill points back, buy another of the first car and repeat.

Obviously it's a bit tenuous since someone has to actually buy both cars, which is why I only bothered to do it once, but that's not bad going. I assume they'll turn off skill point refunds pretty soon, it feels like something that was enabled for testing and was accidentally left on after launch.

Also, the imbalance between all but the last barn finds and the last is crazy. It's taking so long to restore and costs so much to skip! I mean I'll wait, but damn, did someone add an extra 0 by mistake?

EDIT: I did the introduction to the street scene and it's unlocked now. I put the point in to street scene but didn't actually do the event lol, I didn't think it would matter since it's in another part of the map.

to be finished. I've been doing almost no racing. I have been doing the stories like Vocho, the photography one, and Lucha de Carreteras. That kept generating prompts to upgrade the festivals and now they're all maxed out. The barn finds were coming in one after the other while doing the stories. Maybe that's what triggers it?

I've got none of the stories done, save for one of the short test drive ones, and have all the barn finds. I'm pretty sure it just counts each time you start an event that needs a loading screen and increments an internal counter by one. Since the stories tend to go by quicker than the races, that'd make them come up faster.

It picks someone at random from the group you selected, and will send you an inbox message that the car was received regardless of whether they send a thank you or not. Most likely the cars you sent were allotted to someone who hasn't picked them up yet, probably because they haven't logged in for a while or missed the popup notification.

If you were wondering, like I was, how to import your designs and decals from the MS Store version of FH4 to the Steam version of FH5, turns out you...can't.

There's a workaround that involves copying files manually, but it's fairly arcane for now and I don't know about any long-term consequences.

I have my doubts on whether they'll patch the Willys itself, considering there was, IIRC, a similar thing with a Porsche in FH4

Yeah, the 930 could be bought for 150,000Cr, then awarded 300,000Cr from skill points, then could be sold on the AH for even more profit. All of the credit bonuses I've seen so far in FH5 are an order of magnitude smaller, probably to avoid that problem.

I have everything unlocked at this point and have completed the hall of fame. Good! Maybe Haley will stop bugging me whenever I'm trying to do something like do a long drift zone or drive somewhere.

During my playthrough, I recently completed the colossus event among most of the road events. It's part of my "make things slightly more challenging strategy". I wait until I had most of the road race events done before doing the colossus race and I'm going to do the same for the rest, just get past 50% competed on events. With the rate I'm covering, I imagine that I'll either end up doing the Marathon next or the dirt event equivalent. I'll finish the Goliath once I complete all of those type races first.

I think it counts the accolades or something else. Got most of the barn finds just by driving every road, doing skills and smashing every board. The last 3 barn finds I got just by doing PR stunts.

I really wish we were offered a demo for this game. I want it, but since my pc is meeting the lowest recommendation of gpu, I’d like to test it before I buy it.. same goes for my laptop. If it can handle it.

I’ve gofted four cars. Two have been received and I’ve gotten kudos for them. But it took four days between gifting and receiving. So be patient.

I think it's a reward car for Series 1, which starts on the 11th.
Series 0 was the Early Access season with the Alpine and the NSX as playlist rewards to my knowledge

It was on my Series 0 playlist back on November 1st. As a result, there will be plenty of influencers and media with a DeLorean in their garage quite legitimately - and it could quite easily appear in Barn Find Drops or Auction House from those people.

That also means there's no way for the people getting them secondhand to know if the original source is legit or nefarious, and there's no reason for PG to punish them.

In another note then, does anyone know what the point is of accolades, if any, beyond unlocking the festival stamps and any potential accolade rewards?
I haven't reached the hall of fame yet but from what I gather there's a leaderboard, and endless repeating accolades, but is getting higher on that leaderboard all there is to do with your points once you've unlocked all the expeditions or are there other rewards tied to your accolade points?

You say that like I haven't been playing the game in the meantime normally.

But considering the fact that I would like to complete the collection, and some of the cars north of 10 million credits are there...then no reason why not to do the Willys grind for those that can tolerate it.

Like Famine said, it was a Forzathon for Series 0. The fact that there's no real clear defining line between those who get it legitimately (so, media and influencers) and those who got it through time traveling or glitches (which is one of the few non-conduct methods that gets a pretty consistent ban from PG) is bad for those that want it, or see it in the Auction House. Can't really blame people for wanting it either.

I just want a Delorean so I can use the Hyaku Shiki livery I downloaded, man. But they get sniped the literally second I look at them on the Auction House.
