So i had a look through the EventLab today, and the overall quality of the stuff in there has really gone up. Almost all of the SP/credit farm events are just plain gone now, so I'm wondering if the hotfix they did stealth nuked those in the background too.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you, it was quite nice to look through the "Trending Today" section and see stuff that's had actual effort applied to it. There's a forest touge stage in there someone made that must've taken a crazy long time to set up just from the amount of trees and lightpoles along the route.

Very late to respond (long time lurker of mostly the GT Sport FIA thread, first time caller to the forum) but I made that mode and I'm very glad to see that you enjoyed it!

Sadly/somewhat understandably the game doesn't allow you to copy the rule set from events made by others, but I'm happy to post a ton (and it is a ton, there's multiple things that need a rule for all 12 positions!) that should allow you to recreate it with any circuit/class combo if people really want it.

So I've gone through the mode, tidied up the rules and variables greatly so they're easier to follow (never thought I'd be doing a refactor of a race in Forza Horizon 5, but here we are!) and written up all of the rules required to set up the mode, stepping through it all rule by rule and going through all of the triggers/conditions/actions needed with screenshots also provided. On the subject of online racing from my last post, I remember now -- in FH1 I liked to host B/C/D-class racing and rallycross (up to class A) with my own lobby. Sometimes I was left waiting alone, but there was an audience for that. Probably a bigger and hungrier audience now? How does one even race their C-class builds in FH5, except in Rivals or against haphazardly-scaled AI by oneself?

There are C class lobbies that pop up infrequently in Open and Tour, but you have to be rather lucky to catch one in Open that's not half finished by the time you cycle around to it, unless you want to just sit through a torrent of the other drivel.

Interestingly I see there are Tour accolades for using D and S2 class cars, but I've never seen those come up in rotation. So I have to think PG is planning to shuffle around the available online lobbies at some interval or another, which might bring more lower class events into the mix.

Yay got the Trial, struggle too find anyone else too enter, was 3 of us me in capri class A800 and 2 other dudes in bmw class c500 odds , worked out well as i was guaranteed 3rd at least and the other dudes done well too get 4th n 5th's and in last race one of the leading Ai crashed in the tunnel, skipping the Eliminator as i ain't clued up on that one

Idk for sure. I just remember at one point right around release, there were talks of people auctioning off cars not yet available that could get banned & people were wondering about those who bought it off the auction house since they didn't really do anything wrong.

Ah yes, one of the more notable painters in the Forza community, and a community relations manager at Codemasters is unaware of the issues present in both games, and should be bagging on Playground to the level that you are.

To get back to the point of that debate, I work in the industry/genre. I have a good understanding of what challenges developers face when making massively complicated AAA titles with millions of lines of code. I’ve also had first-hand contact with Forza’s community team in the past (I was one of the volunteer race marshals for Forza Motorsport 7).

And since the guy in question called me out for being a painter, painters can race. I’ve been a Top 1% player in Rivals/Online since Forza Motorsport 4, and have set World Records in DiRT Rally 2.0. On a Formula 1 wheel.

I know some things are rough in Forza Horizon 5 (prior to yesterday’s hotfix I couldn’t play at all), but to say that developers “don’t care” is disingenuous at best and a flagrant misunderstanding of the gaming industry at worst. No game is 100% bug free, and our best hope with any release is that the “big issues” (frequent crashes, save corruptions, server issues etc.) are solved first and that the rest comes after.

I usually suffer through 7-8 trials before getting a group that isn't crashing the faster guys trying to get through and 2 that DNF every race. When i finally get that winning group there's always two that block the AI so the slower guys can get by and it's a breeze. I don't understand how so difficult most the time.

The DNF's should still get points as long as they were ahead of someone. I was the only D class last night in a race full of A-Class, due to not having anything to use. Good thing is that the Ai is matched up to the players, and I still managed to beat my only Ai racer, so essentially I gave everyone an easy target and also beat him myself as well. Luckily for me, that was the first attempt at the Trial, and we won the first two races and didn't have to do the third.

Playground Games should retroactively fix the following IMO. Completionists got screwed due to those 2 daily bugs where you couldn’t complete an expedition and story if you already finished everything before. Really annoys me as I wanted to 100% all the series for a long time.

I don’t mind much about the perfect series accolades, I can do that with series 2. But what bums me is that this 261/263incomplete Series 1 will always stay visible in the series history window. Call it OCD or whatever, it’s really annoying.

You could complete the Showcase one, by losing it. The Exhibition one wasn't possible unless you hadn't completed one of them previously.

I'm going to end up missing out on a second F1 since I don't have the patience to wait for a decent Trial lobby (I'm a whole 7 points shy), at least I got one via wheelspin so I can still enjoy it. Next series should be a bit easier to get all the stuff now that Arcade is actually possible and Horizon Tour isn't the nightmare I thought it would be (I avoided it entirely the first 2 weeks).

FH5 has decided to turn it's back on me... again.

The game simply wants to remain stuck at the launcher at 0% data sync. This is not the first time this happens, as i managed to solve it by just updating the Windows 10. Except this time, it doesn't work.

I tried to reboot the game without success. I rebooted my PC and then tried to launch it with the same results. Then as a last resort, i reinstalled it and tried to launch without avail.

I have no clue on how to fix this annoying problem. Guess i'll have to wait for PG to launch an update before i try to boot the game.

Same here on the Tour actually. Avoided it like the plague and decided it to give it one shot last night on some road courses and it was more or less enjoyable. There wasn’t a rammer in the whole lobby or anyone playing stupid.

There is a D class Buggies Tour event that I've done 3 times and most people only have stock vehicles at 349 and 371 pi so that is usually unbalanced. I haven't seen another D class event in Tour or Open.

I can upload my M3 tune when I get home as well, but I dont know how helpful that would be because it's more tuned to drive like I want it to rather than being outright fast, so it's more catered to me specifically.

I’m not missing the showcase one, I did get that one by losing. I missed the Story one and the Expedition one as you can see in my second screenshot. They couldn’t be done if you already did all stories and expeditions before. I even improved a story chapter from 2 to 3 stars but that didn’t work either. Since you got 262/263 you probably still had a story chapter you never did before.

And even if the showcase one could be done by losing, there are probably thousands of gamers that didn’t know that. Also I was lucky to get the Horizon Arcade one done each week but that was (at the time) nearly impossible as well.

Playground should take responsibility for their bugs / malfunctions IMO and mark all these troubled dailies / weeklies as completed for all players. Heck, for all I care they can mark the entire season 1 as 263/263 for everyone complete as compensation for all the troubles we had to go through. @ManteoMax

If there is 1 multiplayer aspect that has been working perfect from day 1 it was actually Horizon Tour. 😄 Playground games, Horizon Open, Horizon Arcade and The Eliminator all had (or still have) their issues.

Just how long do you wait on the 0% data sync? Forza games (both Motorsport and Horizon) take huge (and I mean HUGE) amounts of time to sync. I just went through factory resetting my Xbox Series X and reinstalling dozens of games. I think Horizon (the only Forza game I reinstalled so far) took me 10-15 minutes to sync from the cloud and it was indeed hanging at 0% a long time. Every other game (and I’m talking about 70+ games so far) took maximum 5 seconds to sync.

I would strongly suggest to let it sync for over night or something so it can take all the time it needs, especially if you have a low bandwidth internet connection. I’m on high speed fiber by the way and it’s still 10-15 minutes to sync.

But you mentioned you’re on PC and updating Windows helped in the past. Maybe check all those settings that affect data throughput, like firewall settings, anti-virus software and what not. But I don’t know much about that, I’m on XSX myself. No hassle with OS settings and patches at all, thank god for consoles. 😁

Nope... I just did a Tour with the invisible players/cars parked at the start bug. However this was the first time in over 50 Tours I did so far. Yes I love a more chilled competition every now and then.

@dirtydog it's a little bit late. But I finally got a headlights not working on the XBone. So it's definitely not a PC thing. But I got mine during Open PGG at Ek'Balam in a..... S2 class().

The other weird thing here is the taillights randomly changing from red to white and back again.

This is because the lights are a white glow shining through red glass. When the car gets ghosted at the start of the race, the glass isn't drawn properly (translucent objects on an already translucent car are very hard for most renderers), so the colour overlay of the glass is lost.

Sadly still unplayable for me as my Xbox controller still won’t let me go around corners, I push the left stick fully left and right and it barely registers so I basically can only go in straight lines, screen flickering too.. a shame as I was really getting into this game.

FH5 seems to be working for me with Xbox One X. Got weird bug where the game won’t respond to any controller input for a minute when I load into the open world but after that it works and manage to complete a race too.

On my Series X, I’ve tried reinstalling it twice and the game still crash whenever I try to start a race.

I hope PG has another patch coming soon.

Given everything else in the world of FH5, it's possible they might have been adjusted by the update somehow?

I forgot to check these since it's been so long since the last Forza new release, that was a miserable 3 hours.

Playing a bit less than at the start sure… but uninstalling is already a drastic decision. We’re only a month in so far. I think the only thing to possibly pull you back in is one of the 2 expansion packs then.
