The return of Lancia and Alfa were my biggest want's from the very start of FH5. Very pleased to see it finally happen.

I mean, if they are calling it 'Italian Automotive', then there should be at least one 'halo car' in the next update which is supposed to be 'new to Forza'. My prediction would be coming from these ones:

Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm

Revuelto/Huracan Sterrato/SF90 XX Stradale/new Gran Turismo are just 'too new' to be added to the game imo.

I'm away with work at the moment so I missed the series stream last night. I've just caught on JakeXVX's channel.

I love the cars coming next series, a great selection of muscle cars. Very happy indeed.

However, it's nothing compared to the big news that Alfa's back baby. We use to have a 1995 Alfa GTV, and what a car it was. Yes it was a 2 litre FWD but by God was it sexy to look at in Alfa Red with its little Pepper Pot wheels. It also drove lovely and was deceptively quick. Please, please, please let this car be in game when it's cousins all return in August.

Here's our little Italian Beast before we sold her for a larger more sensible family car because we'd filled another pram......again 😂😂.

The FM4 Porsche Expansion Pack included three new 2012 models, the GT2 RS, Cayman R, and Cayenne, plus four 2011-spec racecar variants that were technically new but less so. It also had a ton of new modelling done on some of the returning cars, like a full 911R body conversion for the Carrera RS and a 964 conversion for the 930 Turbo. That was a paid 30-car expansion though, much larger in scale and scope than one month of seasonal content.

Also don't forget under the 'new modelling done' part the fully remodelled Carrera GT and 911 Turbo (997) which had poorly done meshes from the FM1-FM2 era until then, those were the highlights for me.

Upon looking at one of those dudes who time travel to get the latest cars' (MONST3R) videos about the GR86, there is an OEM trunk spoiler and GR Racing side vents as visual customization options for it.

A bit late to the Maserati portion of the car list discussion, but I find it completely bizarre that none of the Forza games, and almost no racing games, period, include any of the cars manufactured between the Tipo 61 (1961) and the AM336 Ghibli Cup (1997). That's an entire pantheon of classic sports cars and GTs -- the AM115 Ghibli, the Sebring, the Bora, the Merak, the Indy, the Khamsin, the Kyalami, the Mexico, hell, I'd even take a Biturbo at this point. It's like every racing game decided that Maserati only exists when they're a regular fixture in sports car racing or something.

I think there are three facts that can't be ignored:

• in the 1970s and 80s Maserati changed more owners than some people do pants in a week. As a result, licensing models like the Bora, Merak and Khamsin may have been more legal trouble than it was worth. However, the fact that Maserati and Citroen (its owner for a good portion of this period) are now part of the same corporate group could make things significantly smoother;
• the difficulty in sourcing cars to survey: most of those cars were sold in the Italian and French markets, and have generally stayed there in the intervening years (making it as far as Germany and Spain, but no further). This puts them quite a way from Turn 10 or even Playground. And to further compound the issue, Maserati doesn't have a "heritage museum" like many other brands, and it doesn't seem to be a very popular brand with automotive museums;
• the fact that the Biturbo was a pile of dog**** even Maserati would prefer you just forgot ever existed.

Generally speaking, that period of time is Maserati's dark age, in more than one way, and I'm not too surprised to see it as underrepresented as it is in racing games. In fact, I was quite surprised to find out GT7 was adding the Merak.

This is still pretty bad. It doesn't say "Doughnut" any more, but there's still obvious differences between what's said in American English and the regular English subtitles ("shop dad", "petrol station"). Also I question the wisdom of talking about keeping knives in your car given that fulfils the requirements for the offence of "going equipped" in UK law.

Something else has changed too. I'm just zipping through the playlist prepping for tomorrow and... it's all gone weird. The AI are appalling - I had a Mini FE AI in Horizon Tour that just could not do corners, and every AI in the HW/Goliath seasonal crashed at the first turn.

I also flipped the Rimac Concept Two I've used for every run of the HW Goliath in a place I've never experienced air at all. Damn thing took right off, hit a track overpass and fell down into the terrain at Ice Cauldron.

Edit: Also just flipped an S1 Supra on the main highway over a bridge expansion joint.

No wonder the AI is so awful. Unfortunately there's no way to address this since it was listed as "Will Not Fix". Racing game AI just has not evolved much in the past, what, 5 years?

This is why I hate the Drivatars so much. Whatever happened to 2000s era AI?

I was just thinking when looking at the burgundy one that's on Cars and Bids right now that the TC would be a lot of fun in Forza. That and the Cadillac Allante. They could have those two and the Pontiac Aztek in the "Hey, We Tried" Series Update.

I suspect that Hennessey are spending a lot of money on PR and exposure these days, there also seem to be a lot of frivolous news articles on car sites about the latest random tuned car that they've assembled from other people's parts (even the Venom GT was built by another company and rebadged). I presume it's an attempt to drown out the many stories of criminality that they're known for, and the complaints of all of the customers that they basically stole from. I don't know if they still have such dodgy business practices, but they're certainly trying to get them forgotten.

I think, given the focus on the returning manufacturers, the new to Forza car will probably be from one of them rather than the existing Italian supercar manufacturers. It'd be a hilarious misuse of the reason to get hyped for this season if we just got a new Ferrari instead of something from Alfa Romeo.

(It'd be hilarious if they DID go with the dripfeed reintroduction method and decided to use the Fiat 500 as the headliner car though. )
