OMFG.... I don't know why but it just dawned on me.... I'm going to EU for vacation (cousin getting married over there) and it'll be right around the time that Forza 4 launches! So I'll be reading up for almost a week (pending I don't come back sooner) on the goods of the game without even playing the game! I was debating on preordering the LCE but I want to have it the day I'm on US soil so don't know what to do now...

Sad panda is sad.

FAIL^ You must have them postpone their wedding, mmmkay? :)

Let's see....we have the 1st gen, 2nd gen, 4th gen and 5th gen Mustangs...I think we'll see the 3rd gen in there, as well. T10 honoring 50 years of Mustang. I wonder if they'll also celebrate 60 years of Corvette and 20 years of Viper...we'll see.

Actually they do have the 3rd gen Mustang (1993 Cobra R), though it would be cool if they put in the SVO as well.

As of now, they have 4 1st gens (including the Shelby), 1 2nd gen, 1 3rd gen, 1 4th gen, and 2 5th gens (probably be a couple more of the 4th and 5th gens once they release the rest of the Saleens (which I'd like to see at least one 3rd gen version).)

Oh, yeah. You're right. :dunce: Well, awesome.

More FoxBody Mustangs is always a good thing...imo.

Mustang > Skyline :)

Sorry but no way! lol
Skylines >>> Mustangs

But having 1-3 stangs isn't like having almost 50 Skylines across all model lines. There's how many R34 Skylines in GT5? Did we really need ALL of them? Mind you, I'm a Skyline fan and wished they were sold in the states. I'd probably own one now

Sorry, but WAYYYYYYY ;)

lol
I respect the stangs. I personally like them a lot but Skylines are Skylines!!
My godfather used to race stangs in his day. Was in the top 5 fastest stangs of North America at one point too. Had 2 5.0s and eventually had a fox body lx that he dropped in a modified Cleavland race crate motor... and then he flipped it. lol

Mustang > Skyline :)

Agreed, but do we really need every variant of Mustang in the game? There is already a 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen, 4th gen, 5th gen + Shelby, Saleen and Boss variants. I think we've got a pretty good choice of Mustang's already. ;) I'd personally rather that Turn 10 spent their time on including some other legendary cars, such as the Ford Capri, Escort (EU version), MGB, original Mini, etc.

(Just my opinion of course, I know a lot of people like Mustang's but I think there are too many in the game already.)

Agree with above. There are so many classic European sports cars that are overlooked. I couldn't really care less about Mustangs or Skylines, as long as they have a couple of models of each.

I don't think they are overlooked, just unavailable for modeling. PD being in Japan has fairly easy access to older Japanese cars as does T10 with older US cars.

Also, the new Under the Hood is up, very excited about the upgrades and (supposedly) compression free photo mode.:)

this under the hood is loaded with unexpected surprises........didnt imagine they will touch on progressive restrictor removal, "wingless" modification option and uncompressed ultra high res photomode!!!! Just didn't expect these goodies!

I'm also pleased to see that in no uncertain terms they talked about the steering filter in Forza 3, and how it can truly be turned off in Forza 4. It's nice to see it written in an official capacity on the actual Forza web site.

Also nice to see them say that controlled drivers aren't be affected by it at all.
"Interestingly, if you are a very smooth driver that doesn’t really let the car get out of shape, you probably won’t notice a difference at all."

For Forza 4, we’ve added a drag racing tire compound. This tire compound has more accelerative peak grip than the racing slicks,With the proper tuning setup, we’ve been able to use these tires to get wheelstands, but it also requires strong clutch control and car with the “right” center of mass.

I'm pretty giddy after reading this and the nostalgia appearance packages.

From Under the hood part 2:

"Finally, photographers can take photos in more career homespace locations. In Forza 3, the career homespace was a special version of the lowest corner of Camino Viejo full. In Forza 4, players can choose from six different homespaces each featuring a distinct look. This collection of homespaces includes the white garage from the E3 2010 Autovista demo, the Top Gear Studio interior recently shown at Gamescom, as well as a new interior space we call the Warehouse, among others."

Why did this make me want Forza 4 even more? :dunce:

Different gens I'm fine with. Like the R32, R33 and R34 Skylines, just to name a few of them, is definitely welcome. Maybe 1 or 2 special models, or tuner versions like the Amuse R34. But having over 10 factory R34 Skylines.... is just dumb.

This homespace stuff to me sounds like they took a page out of GT5's book over the photo travel locations, only every car will have access to these locales, not just 20% of them

Wow, there's some big boots going into GT5 tonight. Haha.

The Mustang is a properly iconic car, the Skyline is too, obviously, but being a japanese car it tends to be less visible in the world media. Mustang you've got Bullitt, Gone in sixty seconds, hell even Deathrace had a Mustang in a lead role. Skyline gets a few cameos in Fast and Furious.

There is also the fact that the standard Skyline is a rather bland and boring 4 door 4 pot saloon. It is run of the mill until you get to the beastly versions. All Mustangs are (and always have been) quite shouty and fast. (Mustang 2 was awful and slow, but it was still in your face and gaudy).

Some of those 80's and all of the 90's GT models were pretty slow IMO. For example (2 cars in the same class) 95 Z28 1/4Mile low 14s - 95 GT low 15s. Thats a pretty big gap there.

Eh...not exactally. The 90's-today make the standard version of the car which is pretty basic, bland, quiet, and not very fast.

The new V6 Stangs aren't bad at all anymore. while the V6 is short on torque, it is putting out over 300hp now

I know it's been a while since the Hummer was announced, but I'm pretty sure this picture is new on the site. At lest, I hadn't seen it there before, anyway.

I can't wait to put this thing out on the track.

I definitely don't. Not a fan of SUVs in a racing game. Not a fan of SUVs in general.

I am interested to see if you can climb over a smalll car with that.

While I wish there were some off road tracks(still waiting for a decent off roading game on any platform, haven't heard of any worth trying since 4x4 Evo2) there is something genuinely fun about taking a vehicle that isn't exactly known for being fast and making it that sleeper car that gets laughed at when you join a lobby with it and than kicked after you beat the crap out of them.
