A review journalist is hardly a hardcore sim racer; rather a casual racer that has undoubtedly put a significantly less amount of hours into FM3 than I have and will put less into FM4 than I will. So I take reviews with a grain of salt.
A review journalist has also actually played the full game. To my recent knowledge, that's something no one in this forum has done, so I find it incredibly hard to denounce the reviewer's opinion when you haven't even touched the game yourself.

For all anyone knows, it may very well be a similar experience to FM3, with a couple new features thrown in.

I find it easy when it comes from Gamespot or IGN...In fact, I don't really trust any reviewers opinion. It IS fun sometimes to listen to the reviews, but, I'm not going to make a decision either way based on what they say. 80% of them are probably "bias" anyway. (I still remember the reviewer of GT5P on GS complaining that the "dash of the car was in the way"

I just noticed that Forza's new Indy GP track has been altered.

These 2 look the same to me.

Yup. They are. There are 3 configurations is all and they changed the track in 2009, removing the hairpins and putting in the little chicane, instead.

Ok, I must have misunderstood you then. I thought you were implying that the Forza4 version didn't match. Something to do with Turn4?

Sorry but it's been a long day of staring at the computer screen reading the forums with as busy as they have been.

It's my fault, really. I saw that the hairpins were gone in FM4 and thought they had done one of their "it's not conducive to online racing" things, but it was just the track configuration has changed between the time that PD modeled it and when Turn10 went down and modeled it.

And there is another section of the road course that turns away just before Speedway 1/Turn 13 that they're not using, but I think that's either the MotoGP configuration or something.

So, I apologize for the confusion.

EDIT: Week in review is up.

May I admit that I'm so confused by that large mag (I'm really bad at maps) that I still don't know for certain what's going on?

No need to explain, though, just saying.

I really should get better at reading these kinds of maps...

Dear Friend,

Ok... So the opinion of a review journalist should be my opinion? Yes, that makes sense.... I mean that is what reviews are for right? To make up my mind for me? We are basically exactly alike: views, opinions, past experiences.

Just because someone has the experience doesn't mean their opinion is accurate.

Try reading the linked article and see what type of opinion you have after. I quit taking the review seriously after he killed several paragraphs talking about the "mystery" of the Pringles vinyl in the storefront.

Sorry, but if I want to "denounce" a review I have that freedom. I guess you have agreed with every review you have ever read though.

Cheers.

The Giant Bomb Preview was an interesting read.

Although, one part caught my eye:

Why would it feel 'dramatically different'? It's a game simulating the exact same thing the last 3 have. Off course it's going to be similar. We already know from MildAshers in this forum that sim steering makes a huge difference and the rest is really the improved visuals and added features. What more were you expecting.....arcade shooter battles in space?

WTF? It doesnt have coop shooter mode? 👎 I need to cancel my pre-order...

Ok for real though, besides a few new things, a draceing game is a racing game. I can say the same about NFL games from EA over the past few years. Or take about any FPS series, Mario Karts, etc. etc. Besides some new details/features (like the no assisted steering), and prettier looking graphics, what do people expect?

Let's just let this one go, guys. 👍

Not feeling dramatically different from one of the best games ever is hardly a bad thing.

What does the reviwer mean by that, by the way? Physics? Career mode? Atmosphere?

I'm confused.

The Seatbelt!!:drool::drool::drool::drool:

I have not seen that detail in any racing game, ever. Amazing.

They didn't fix the 'ring.

Turn 10. I am dissappoint.

Where did you hear that?

Watch the Nurburgring video.

Link?

Of course it did.

Saw nothing there about the Ring. No video or comment.

Untouchable.

FYeah, I knew DeLorean would make it.

So, 2 American cars, one of which is a Hummer (while I like Hummers, they are far from rare). That leaves the Ford GT. Oh well.

I read an article somewhere about how Autovista cars exceed well over 1,000,000 polys, which is double the amount then GT5 premiums.
I wonder if that detail stays during races.

I'm sorry, but the in-race car models will not be Autovista level of quality. Not a chance.

Any chance we can get a direct link to that UNCHANGED Ring video?

I've noticed the fog on the Top Gear track as well.

Maybe for some tracks instead of weather we get Fog depending on time of day.

Here you are bogie.

The heavy fog really seems to give some sort of personality to the track, definitely a nice touch.

Sweet, thanks! Checking it out now.

Edit: Wow did they make some excellent changes and improvements on the Ring. Not to mention, loving that glare from the sun. OMFG, that is a very nice Ring!

I'm a bit disappointed there is no ZR1 in Autovista.

So are we getting a wet track for top gear?

Agreed. Looks really nice.

They still haven't added some of the bumpiness that the track should have though. It looks much too smooth still.
