Read the previous sentence so you know what I'm referring to.
I did read it. What was wrong was that you said GT5 wasn't as detailed on the interiors. That's just not true for the cars PD decided to fully model.

If anything T10 has finally made their cars as detailed as some of GT5's, but even that really remains to be seen; many cars in the FM series have had slightly off details in the past.

Shot 1) Not the best photo taken from GT5's photo mode. Lighting kind of sucks...

Shot 2) Proof the FM4 shot isn't rendered? The GT5 shot is from in-game. (not photo travel)

Shot 3) The GT5 car is a standard model...

Shot 4) This one is very close. No winner here IMO.

Shot 5) Rendered vs. in game?

Shot 6) Ditto...

There are already a few gameplay videos up...

Look up. Read my post. Dan showed in-game footage when they interviewed him.

This is suppose to be the best track in Forza4:

Not that impressed. Looks exactly like Forza 3, to me. Also, did anyone notice the massive dead zone in the wheel the guy was using. There was a couple times he did a good amount of sawing back and forth and it didn't seem to translate to the car.

And...yes...GT5 has better lighting...but the PS3 has always had better lighting....but...again...this comparison is purely graphical. These two games are completely different.

EDIT: He also seems to be nearly flatout on every corner. I mean...the sense of speed seems WAY too exaggerated.

These video exposes Forza4. I don't know is it just me or the replay is just bad. lol

Compared to GT5:

Probably rally makes GT5 more dramtic and cool. But this video also looks very beautiful

Kimi, that Focus video looks odd when the car lands at the very beginning. The reaction of suspension seems nil.

All the vids look great to me though.

Yeah that F4 replay makes it look alot closer to F3. Also Forza has never been good at creating dynamic, interesting and varied camera angles on their replays... for some reason.

It is straight on view, probably they could exaggerate it. But the problem with Forza4 replay is that it is not even following the car properly let alone trying to bring the beauty with depth of field or camera panning in and out or other things to make it look more immersive.

The track is not bad and lighting, car models helps a lot but I think the camera angles in that replay is not good either.

Forza has a mode where you can walk around the car, open the doors, look around, get in, etc.

It is a fair assumption that, based on the 2 interior screenshots on that video, that the cars in FM4 that will feature that mode will be more detailed than GT5's, since GT5 does not have this mode FM4 is implementing.

This may end up being true, or not. That's why I said time will tell. I don't think I said anything crazy, and there's at least a possibility that it'll be true.

Forza 4's scenery and cars looks nice so far, but they really need to change the driver models. They look awful IMO and they remind me of this old computer game i used to play back in the early - mid 2000s.

Finally a fAir comparison... Not gunna lie the forza cars look fantastic... But kind of too polished... Thr ford gt picture.. All you see on the top half of the beauty is the reflection the clouds... A WAY better comparison though great job!

Wheel rims look a bit better in GT5, but the environments in FM4 destroy the cardboard cutout GT5 backdrops. And some of the rounding on fenders in a couple of the GT5 shots was pretty jaggy (FM covers this with reflections); as for the reflection/too shiny argument: Anyone who has photographed cars at a show (i.e. have been freshly polished and detailed) will tell you that the reflections in FM4 are not too far off. Apparently in the Forza world your car is detail-fresh all the time, which is not an issue to me.

Honestly, about the only difference in the above video is where the light source is between the two. Also, why is the wheel cutout so much bigger on some cars in GT5 than in real life?!?! The CRZ looked like it was twice as high in GT5 as in the real pic, and so did the Ford GT.

A much better comparison, this is what should've been released from the jump.

In my opinion GT5 still has the better looking cars and Forza 4 has better looking backgrounds. As of now, Turn 10 still can't seem to get rid of the plastic/unrealistic look of it's cars, they look nice, just not GT5 premium model nice.

Forza 4 is still in development, so all this could change (whether it be better or worse).....only time will tell.

I don't like the graphics of the 'reality' screenshots.

I have never bought Forza and all the GT versions from GT3 on. But this time I'm also getting interested in Forza. GT5 looks great but in this comparison, Forza looks even better. GT5 looks as good as Forza in most screenshots but never better. Forza looks as good as GT5 is most screenshots but the other screenshots of Forza look even better than GT5's.

These screenshots comparision are worthless. The user can make either of them look good or bad. Gameplay and replay videos give better idea.

This is NFS shift replay and this one too looks good too compared to Forza

I need to get Shift2 lol but may be later. I will definitely get F1 2011. Codemasters do a pretty good job in that respect as well

The XFR is rightly included, they put stupid standard cars in the game, so you can't avoid them just because they look sub-par, fact is most of GT5 looks sub-par. Some of it is amazing granted, but it's a minority.

It's just the same as modeling one absolutely 100% perfect car , then rushing all others, then when comparing graphics, only using that one amazing car. (this is exaggerated obviously, but the point stands) It's just silly.

Standard cars bring the game quality down, a lot.

They should of had a more realistic development plan.

Unfortunatly I have sold GT5 and will sell the PS3 very soon, due to, only really playing GT5, but getting sick at how stale it feels. Sticking around though to keep in touch with the rather amazing D-Max drift team I was in / am in.

I don't have an issue with them comparing standard models, but they are comparing bullshots released by turn10 vs in game photos of GT5. If you can make any one of those Forza shots look like that from in game photo mode, then I'll be impressed.

Both games are good to the point where you can't really compare, because the lightning in each picture is completely different, making it impossible to tell. In every case with the Ferrari, neither looks close to the real life picture. For the Mclaren I would argue the GT5 one takes it by a smidge. The Subaru pics at the end made me giggle, the car classed as reality is a computer generated render too, not a photograph.

To be honest, graphics wise they are both good, it's gameplay where it will matter. The physics/driving engine in the Forza video looks less on the sim side than GT5 to me.

All the GT5 shots in the latest video are post processed... from the description:

Forza Motorsport screenshots were officially released by Turn 10, and probably enhanced a bit, so we enhanced Gran Turismo photos too. But only contrast, clarity, brightness, saturation and vibrance was changed, no bluring jagged edges or anything advanced. Just cosmetical changes.

I would wait until actual in game images from FM4 come out before doing a comparison, comparing edited photos is kind of pointless...

Both games look great, and I'll be enjoying both of them regardless so these comparisons don't matter to me.
