Very happy with this update.

Finally there is something to do in career mode. Also happy to see that they have reconsidered FOMO nonsense.

Besides this, Holden Xbox Racing Team Commodore has been removed from the Forza Specials division and added to the Forza AUS division.

For a future update I would like to see the following:

- Split at Ford
Ford / Ford EU / Ford AUS

- Lexus changing its nationality from USA to Japan.

- Return of modern muscle division to accommodate Camaro, Challenger and Mustang. I don't know why they are in modern sport touring.

So, the new race car focused career is very nice, and some of the tours/endurance races seem nice and chunky (American touring cars has 8 races for example, and the first gt3 endurance race is 14laps at Daytona infield), and the returning tours being added back permanently is great for players who may have missed out the first time around, but...

...are there still going to be NEW featured tours added each month/update?

- Lexus changing its nationality from USA to Japan.
That likely won't happen since the brand was born & created for the American market like Acura, and Lexus did not open stores in Japan until 16 years post-launch in 2005 as part of their desire grow Lexus globally. This saw Toyota phase out some of the Japanese variant names in favor of the US ones.

Can't say I'm too surprised with the Champions Cup thing, I figured they were going to bring those events back eventually since it didn't make any sense to have them be one-offs that would lock newer players out of their content and prizes permanently. Sort of feels like the Backstage Pass system in Horizon as the start of winding down the content updates, but that's not too much of a surprise either really, if it's the case.

I don't want to start a debate, but you think the LFA is American car?

Acura is based in California, focused on the North American market and manufactured in Ohio. In fact, even the latest generation NSX sold in Japan were manufactured at the Ohio plant.
I could understand being considered an American brand, although for me it is Japanese.

But Lexus, even though it was born with the American market in mind, is a Japanese brand. Its cars, since the first LS, have been mostly designed and manufactured in Japan. The brand headquarters are in Japan.

Yes, it's true that Lexus didn't arrive in Japan until 2005, but its models were sold as Toyotas. The Lexus LS400 in Japan was the Toyota Celsior.

As a curious fact, in GT7 Lexus is Japanese.

Sorry for the off topic.

No, I don't think the LFA is an American car the same way I don't think the GT40 is a British car despite the fact it started life under Lola, Abbey Panels, & John Wyer.

After it spent 16 years being manufactured in Tochigi & Suzuka, but you never called it an American car because of the brand.

I worked under the brand for 10 years. You're not telling me anything I'm not already aware of.

Again, fully aware as even indicated in my post beforehand: "This saw Toyota phase out some of the Japanese variant names in favor of the US ones."

Not particularly interested in discussing this, only re-affirming to you that T10 will more than likely not change it b/c there's some case for it.

Because the game has quite the install size, and my download speeds aren't great lately, can someone inform me if this update has added reward cars to Free-play (rental)?

I thank you in advance.

Really enjoying the champions cup so far, I'm finally feeling some type of progression in the career. One thing i miss though is the intros for each tour...It's not "GaMeBrEaKiNg" or anything like that, but these intros always gave me a little extra boost to finish the tour, no biggie though!

Also, did something happen to the people (or person) responsible for making those flashy covers for each career tour/multiplayer events? In my opinion it seems like they've become more "boring" in recent updates. :odd:

The AI is even more competitive now to the point im having to go from level 6-7 difficulty down to level 5. Been having some great battles with them in different divisions and just notice more competitive and cleaner racing overall compared to even update 20. In my opinion I think this a great place to leave the AI tweaking alone in terms of behavior and to avoid reintroducing old bugs. Now we just need to be able to adjust and tweak them in freeplay with options.

Although I appreciate the continuous work of T10 over these past two years, I can't help to think that most of it has been into reversing the original state of the game at launch: graphics, graphics performance, the XP system that few (you three) like, and the AI (I won't discuss the multiplayer side of things, because I don't touch it) rather than truly moving forward.

The wrong initial approach was costly, and maybe a soft reboot (while not necessarily naming it FM 2.0) and relaunch would be desirable in the future: From the top of my head, a real career mode ("From zero to hero"), a comprehensive free play mode where you can create your own tours and share them, a revamped photo mode and livery editor, more real and fictional tracks from past games, new cars and renewed models, of course, and getting rid of Forza aero and the XP system for good.

And yet, I would argue it's the best game of the series.

The Champions Cup events are brand new. (Just have some previous reward cars as prizes)
The returning tours are under 'Featured' and show any trophies you won originally.

They're not in the rent cars tab but they've always been available once you go into the FP options, car tab/select model.

I'm sure the Insiders on here are biting their tongues hard right now but if Champions Cup is an archive of previous career tours it could be what some of us have been waiting for for a long time.
I got nothing but 🤔's for this post so I'm glad there actually is an archive of old tours now even if the Champions Cup is separate. I'd rather be half right than completely mistaken. :P
With the FOMO being gone I feel a lot of stress has gone away from my mind. I hope the game keeps going in this direction! 👍
It's still technically there as the cars aren't available to buy and/or rent in Free Play.
But surely you can win them at any time so there's no need to miss out? It doesn't sound like they're time-limited to me.

The thing I'm most curious about is if you can get a 2nd instance of one of the FOMO cars if you already own one. For the GT2, GT3 and Proto-H cars in particular, I like to have more than 1 variant of each car with liveries that go with particular tracks (i.e. IMSA liveries for North American circuits, and WEC or Regional GT liveries for European/Asian tracks). To that end, I'm definetly eyeing up the possibility of earning a 2nd M4 GT3 and Vantage GTE if possible to satisfy this hyper-specific OCD of mine.

Very very solid update this. I have already been enjoying the American touring cars championship a lot :) This feels more like the traditional Forza Motorsport experience and I am all here for it :)

Like NASCAR, IndyCar isn’t really my cup of tea but it’s still very good to have been added as I know many people were asking for it.

The one thing that’s not ideal is the lack of clarity on the future. A Message to the Motorsport Community would be great, even if it is to limit expectations.

In the meantime, I’ll go race in the Champions Cup and will continue to do my custom free play endurance races :)

The McLaren MP4/4, Ferrari 312T2, McLaren M23, Lotus 98T and Ferrari 641 now have Goodyears!

And in terms of the price changes, here’s what I observed:
  • LMP1 prices raised a bit
  • Most GT3 and GT2/GTE prices became cheaper
  • Most LMP2 prices became a bit cheaper
  • Most 1960s-1970s F1 cars became cheaper
  • Touring Cars became even more cheaper
  • Grand Prix Rivals became more expensive
  • Most GTP/C cars became more expensive
  • Most GTX Sports Cars became cheaper
  • Most Prototype Group Racing cars became cheaper
  • Ferrari 166 Inter Sport’s price drastically dropped
  • All Birth of Grand Prix cars became cheaper
  • Most Vintage Le Mans Prototypes became cheaper
  • Most Forza Proto-H cars became a bit more expensive

With the recent Xbox price rises you're probably better off getting a PC (unless you can find a used bargain).
This sounds to me like a higher entry price but with lower long-term costs. A graphics card costs less than a Series X but I'd be surprised if you can pick up an equivalent games capable PC at the same price or less than an Xbox. Amazon.co.uk are still selling the consoles at the old price (ÂŁ450)... but they're white so will get dirty a lot quicker.

Of course PCs have more capabilities and games available among their numerous advantages over XSX. But I still believe in the immediate term console peasantry provides the best Forza Motorsport experience per buck.

Yea, with Xbox becoming more of a publisher and seemingly focusing less on hardware I'd definitely go the pc route, where you can play most Xbox and PlayStation games, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of PC games at your disposal

For their next console I think Xbox would be better off releasing a Steam-capable console as this would offset the disparity in available games by quite a bit for the fraction of the cost of an equivalent PC. PC is probably more worth it for someone who doesn't already own a PS5 though.

Perhaps if Sony were to release Gran Turismo on PC it'd make the choice more cut 'n' dried but I think it depends upon which games you want to play and how much cash you have available.

The next Xbox console is basically this:

Still up in the air whether they just have more handheld PCs able to brand themselves as Xboxs, or they release their own proper version, but the tradional box under the TV is history. Xbox catalogue emulation, Windows/Steam/Epic integration.
