Yeah we do need some more guys. We have over 80 members, I'd figure we would be able to fill up a lobby.

Perhaps the deadline for qualifying should be shortened by a day, so we can use that extra time to have qualifiers confirm their entry into Saturday's race. Provisional spots should also be confirmed beforehand as well, so we all have a better idea of the amount of free spots that need filling. Spots can then be given to the highest qualifiers who can and who will actually show up. That may go a much longer way toward guaranteeing a full room.

In the grand scheme of things, we can grow much stronger as a club if we included some additional events aimed toward a wider majority of our members. This can be done in terms of skill, experience, and maybe even time zone. So far, the Saturday event seems like great training ground for our top 10-20 drivers, and will go a long way toward preparing teams for challenging top drivers from other clubs. We also need an event that caters to our drivers who fall more around the middle of our pack, who have potential to become faster and more competitive, as well as our bottom of the pack members who wish to brush up on their skills and learn proper track etiquette. The sooner we get some more events organized and get more people of all skill levels involved, the sooner having 80+ members will actually become an advantage.

Not sure how confirming is going to fill the room any more. The most we have had is 12 and today we only got up to 9. I have made it quite clear that everyone has the opportunity to race and that there has been plenty of room in the lobby every Saturday. Confirming to me would only be required if we started running out of room so we have an idea if we need to start thinking of having 2 rooms going (1 for qualifiers and 1 for the rest). Right now we are far from needing that.

This is one of the reasons for the weekly qualifying event in rivals mode during the week. This allows everyone to get in on the action without having to be set on a strict schedule. If you have any other ideas feel free to PM me so we can try and come up with something. I'm definitely interested in finding ways to make our entire team succeed in having fun and improving on our club ranking.

Nice pics. That's me in the dark blue car. Led a few laps but then got taken out by one of those green ones:indifferent: Anyways I'll be brainstorming some ideas about getting the whole club involved and I'll shoot you a PM Chris.

And this is why I thought the idea of implementing a simple, laid back form of confirmation could help you out. It doesn't have to be something big and formal, it can be as simple as just keeping note of who says they aren't showing up. Those who cant show up will have their guaranteed spots passed off to the next eligible driver who can make themselves available. We all understand that being in top 12 of the club leaderboard for a rival event doesn't mean that you can or that you want to take part in a race on a particular Saturday afternoon. Passing on guaranteed spots to others who as a result may be more likely to stay home and show up, could help to encourage a slight increase in the number of racers you host each week. It certainly wouldn't hurt the numbers. If anything, the idea of being left to drive anything called "the loaner" takes care of that for you. :) jks

The best idea I have to share at the moment is the need for the members list to be purged, so we can get a better idea of how much people actually have the intention of playing the game online, other than participating in rivals mode. It would even help if we had a better idea of everyone's skill level. Maybe I'm missing something, but I wouldn't mind seeing more activity going on in game and on this forum to suggest that we actually have over 80 active members. It's important that we understand who we need to organize different events for, in order to get everyone interested involved.

Do you really think a 15 laps race is better than i.e. two 7 laps races?I think the last laps just spread us.
I liked the special event because non tuned car are more realistic in my opinion,i never know if the tuned car races are won by the best tuner or the best racer (as in gt5)

I would have joined in, but I had to work. I don't have much free time for gaming on most Saturdays.

I still don't see how making members confirm whether they are going to race or not is going to make more people show up. :odd: If anything I think less will show up. We don't even have 16 members online (at the same time) most of the time Allot of members may look at it as an added hassle.

Why haven't you been racing the last couple weeks? Would a confirmation system made you show up?

Another problem imo is where this thread is located. I have inquired about this section being moved to the FM4 sub-forums but I got no response from Jordan. At the moment though i'm not sure if that would even help since it seems activity on the entire site has died down a bit since it was soft-launched.

As far as "The Loaner" goes, that is what it is. The name is just meant to be funny. It has been getting used. If I didn't put that car there we would have even less participants because some members wouldn't have a car to use if they didn't have a chance to buy and upgrade a car in time to race.

Purging the list how? I think that's easier said than done and once again I don't think that's going to fix our problem. We already know mostly who is active and who is not for the most part. We just need a few (4-6) more. It's just getting the best time for everyone. I'm in the US and we also have allot of members that are over seas. Some members just have other responsibilities to attend to at the time of the race and some are simply playing other games that have just released (BF3 & GOW3).

We have a good turn out for qualifying but that's because it's not a strict schedule.

7 laps is only 3 more than what we run on all of our other races which makes "the big race" less significant imo. The 15 lap race with the Supras last week went really well and we had a pass for the lead with one lap to go and we also had 3 separate battles going on on the last lap. Also I led the first half of that race and im not a tuner. I didn't use any tuning at all. I just carefully selected what parts I wanted.

The Astons were more spread out because of the type of car it was (more difficult to drive fast consistently) and also because we didn't have a big turn-out. If we had 5-7 more cars on track that would have created more wheel to wheel racing and filled those gaps we had.

I probably won't use that type of car for our race again for awhile or at least not until we get more people racing. I will stick to lower class cars that are easier to drive for everyone.

Sorry, that was me.. :( You went off track a bit coming out of a corner, and I was on your right, you came back on track so hard I couldn't avoid it..

Yes,perhaps lower class cars that are easier to drive for everyone.
:D

Meh, I think R3 class is the best to do a race with. 15 laps is perfect, or 20 for a shorter track. We did it in 27minutes last race..

Oh and Chris, when I pm'ed you that I went for a break, I couldn't join. Connection failure all the time, didn't matter on who I joined..

You know I had the same issue, I had to re-start my router, perhaps his NAT or our NATs weren't open.

That wasn't the 15 lap Aston Martin race by any chance, was it?

No, Forza doesn't allow you to quite out and then save the replay unfortunately.:grumpy:

I have my console hooked up directly to my modem so I doubt it's a problem on my end. I haven't changed any settings at all since day one of having it. Hope you guys can get those issues resolved. If there is anything I can do to help just let me know.

Agreed this place seems dead.
Always around 60 viewing but no one posting.
Shame really. I suppose it's because there are more well established Forza forums about. Good thing about this site is that we haven't got any idiots posting crap.

Hmm, could be.. Same thing happened today..

And Chris, I'm sure it's not a problem you can do something about. I tried to join the game through different people, but no succes.. I'll check my settings when I get back from the Casino. Wish me luck boys :o Maybe after that I can hire a guy to look after my problems........

Agreed!

I'm thinking things will pick up once the full launch of the site is up. Anyone have any idea when that is supposed to happen?

Jordan said this-A News Blog & Library

ForzaPlanet will include its own News blog and game Library, just as GTPlanet does, but these features take time to design and implement. What you see is certainly an unpolished work in progress, so expect many changes, tweaks, and other additions in the coming weeks and months.

I’m very excited to launch this new community, and I hope you all enjoy the site!

I believe I mentioned it before, but I will most likely never be available for the weekend races at the current time, just since I'm at work during that period. It's going to actually be extended to even later in the day for the next few weeks after an idiot co-worker got black-out drunk and fell down a flight of stairs. So I'm covering shifts.

Doesn't help I had a small injury while preparing dinner last night that involved a sharp knife, and a now very strangely shaped thumbnail. I'm assured it'll grow back just fine, but for now, the controller is fairly uncomfortable as putting any pressure on the steering stick hurts the exposed section. It looks just like someone took a half-circle clean out of the top half of my nail!

I try to take part in the qualifiers, for fun, but I know my spot will always be up for someone who can make it each week 👍

Rivals mode has been pretty good with this club, every time I log on I have at least half a dozen rival challenges. Trying to find a good time for everyone to race will be tough, but at least in Forza 4 we can still go after each others times. :)

Chris, it was my mistake to even make any suggestions. I somehow pushed a wrong button with you that made you feel you had to get all defensive about things, even to the point where you cant take a friendly joke about a car.

I will let you do what you do, and stick to rivals mode in the mean time like most of the other members, and get in a few club races with anyone interested in running a few laps.

Sorry for taking up your time.

I, like some, just have different times that I am able to play. I did get a few BAD races in on Saturday, I am in dire need of my own collection of tuned cars as I have been concentrating on a select few.

For me, I feel the team is a great collection of people but shouldn't be looked at as just a 'Saturday Race Only' Club. If I had some more time to devote to the club I would suggest starting a sub group of people who like racing F, E, D and C class cars on short tracks.
