I might still have the Road & Track issue with that car on the cover somewhere at my parent's place...

That's one odd looking car with the bumper extensions in place. Similar to the Lamborghini Countach.
And the front lights, odd they needed to change them.

Can anyone shed light on aluminium panels and rear brace? Why were these needed for the US market? And tyres is an interesting thing to have changed too.

Thanks @RocZX. I knew America was good at either not letting cars into the country or modding them to comply but I never knew they managed to ruin the best super car ever. Well this is my idol car so to me it's painful to see.

Ruin it they did. Although I believe that car got sent back to Woking to undo everything ASAP, because aside from those pictures I don't think I've ever seen it with the 5mph bumpers and the storage bins. It even had a "Jesus Fish" on the back!

(Also quite funny is the excerpt about the Hennessey Viper catching fire and a second one breaking the engine, as if it was a sign of things to come)

That's not the same car; that's chassis #042 that was repainted to Rosso Corsa to match the owner's Enzo. The car resided in Midland, Tx until around 2006 to California.

The car for sale was originally a Massachusetts car. I can't verify if it is indeed the 1st of the 7 Ameritech cars though, considering #042 above was also an Ameritech car.

The 1st McLaren F1 imported to the U.S.
The 1st of only 7 fully federalized, U.S. road legal McLaren F1

These are the parts add by Ameritech to make it legal in the US.

I believe this is the one owned by Herb Chambers. Owns a large dealership franchise and always hosts Cars & Coffee events in Massachusetts. Of course, the very last C&C that happened was the last time he'd show it before putting it up for sale. Missed out on it. :(

A Carrera RS Clubsport for sale. While it is a rare car it's surprisingly not super rare to see them for sale. What is surprising, though, is one for sale in the United States. Never being sold here it has to be 25 years or older to drive here, unless of course it's "show and display" import, which this one is. It's the second RS I've seen for sale here, but first Clubsport version, both imported from Canada (which is much better with their import laws pertaining to cars). Estimated at about half a million dollars, some lucky jerk is going to buy this and put it in a garage. Probably.

Also, a 993 GT2 for sale, also in the U.S. Super rare to begin with, even rarer here in the States. Unless there is another white one here then I think I saw this one not long ago at Lime Rock Park. Neat! Edit: Nope this ones different then the one I saw, since it has clear turn signals. Also neat!

August 18th gonna be a busy day; I believe RM & Bonhams are expected to start with Mecum that day, all in California.

Side note: that F1 is expected to need a minimum of $15m to hit its reserve.
