There is a minivan around here that has 'PMS 666' I don't think its a custom plate either...

A guy with a really nice Corvair has 'F Nader'...

Will try for pics...

There's a Maxima around here with V33 TEK. I don't think it's custom, just coincidence, since the recently issued plates have been similar to that. (I have V22xxx and V41xxx)

Tags of that format are issued in Miami-Dade. You're right - it was randomly issued. Lots of weird stuff can come out of Florida, including A55 RGY, with the orange in the center serving as an O making the tag into "ASS ORGY."

^. I think that one wins. Best use of random letters/numbers and plate design, hands down.

I always felt that the single best random-letter plate was this one:

"One hundred bucks." I saw the plate just after it had been issued in 2003 and then again in late 2004. I think I've seen it a couple of times since, but not recently. :(

^How do you know that's random? I'm 99% sure the A55 RGY one is, because it's tough to plan that out, and most Lincoln drivers aren't the type, and I knw V33 TEK is because my plates are similar.

In Colorado, all personalized plates are flat (since 1998), like FLED CA and DOUG I posted earlier. Embossed plates are over-the-counter issues. Furthermore, they won't issue vanity plates in that format since it may conflict with regularly-issued plates. Another example of a good over-the-counter plate:

I suspect some funny business with that one though. I never saw another Lexus with LEX plates, and when MDX came out, I never did see an Acura MDX with one, though I suspect there must be a few based on probability. The "BMW" series was issued in a county where I'd be surprised if any BMWs are located, and though "CLK" was issued, I haven't seen any on CLKs although I'd bet there's one or two. And a final example:

I've also seen 666-GGG. Those are just luck - DDD went down in Summit County, Colorado, which is the Breckenridge area, and nine lucky people got six-character tags with just two characters on them!

I swear ive seen that picture on Snopes!

I've seen a Porsche Cayenne around the area with the number plate 'UGLY'...at least they recognise the fact.

I've seen here in HK...

Oh my god guys, I've seen the funniest plate a couple times last year. Imagine--a first generation Honda Odyssey minivan. A tall, skinny, late-teen guy driving. And a plate that says "1337 HAX". I about wrecked the first time I noticed it! I've only seen the van twice though, and I've never had a chance to take a picture.

And thats on an LS1 powered FD!

Those who watch South Park will find this funny:

👍

Brilliant - took me five minutes to find a way to describe that plate without just repeating it.

Spotted today on some nondescript hatchback - GLU6G with a strategically placed yellow washer in the middle of the 6.

a917 fan--1337 HAX means in English 'leet hacks'. leet means in 13375p34k (leetspeak, a kind of computer slang) "elite". HAX means hacks. These two expressions probably originated from video games

eg:
Person one:"Woohoo, one hit kill!"

Person two:"zOMG! 1337 h4x!!"

Troux--yeah, I dont get it either.

I've been considering getting one for a while now.

DRFT BOX
LOL AE86

For the Supra:
HLO KITY
BAD KITY
LOL RED
BPU FTL
YUM SOUP

I've seen LINX USR and some other geeky plate around town.

I always get a lot of compliments on the plates I've got on my S2000 when I'm driving around and everything. There seems to be a lot of interpretations for it but I'm sure a lot of car people can catch the reference and where it actually was inspired from.

i've had four custom plates so far:first on my 89 crx was TAS73Y then i got HELDUP, followed by V8ETER on my ITR, then TYP21R as it goes with the car(#21 of 200)

My Plymouth Voyager had "XV-397", which made it sound like a factory prototype. ^^

All these plates aren't really that funny when you compare them to my mum's...

... KY55 AXG!

^ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
