....Not sure where this "news" belongs in, but...

Shankaracharya Swaroopanand says women entering a Hindu temple increases rape. Social media anger ensues.

And no, I didn't randomly type a name up. That's a real name of a 94-year old guru in India...

My favorite bit:

....temple officials, in the past, had claimed that the ban was actually "to protect women since Shani emits radiation which can harm them and cause deformity in a foetus if a pregnant woman enters the temple".

He kind of (for once) has a point though... although good luck persuading any celebrity to be part of a targeted anti-ISIS broadcast.
That and the fact that ISIS have a twisted view that they're doing God's work. Well certainly the 'soldiers' on the ground, not so sure the ISIS leaders strictly have that particular agenda, even though I'm sure they say they do. Unfortunately unwavering fanaticism cannot be embarrassed or humiliated, certainly not in the way Bono believes.

....:odd:

An unusual form of animal cruelty?? :dunce:

"A two-year-old gelding destined to race in Australia has been saddled with the name Horsey McHorseface" (sic).

BBC.

Probably because the SS Boaty McBoatface wasn't accepted.

If we ever get to vote for a new planet's name, I'm voting for Planet McPlanetFace.

Remember that episode of "The Simpsons" where Bart places a collect call to Australia, racks up a $900 phone bill, and we decide that the most appropriate punishment would be a kick up the backside with an oversized boot?

Well, just like the time they predicted Donald Trump would be President, it's coming true.

I watched that on the news this morning, it's cringeworthy. Forced as part of the reparations for ze crime?

I'm not sure, exactly. The whole farce has been overseen by Barnaby Joyce, the newly-elected leader of the Nationals and newly-appointed deputy Prime Minister. This video was released on the same day that the senate rejected a key piece of legislation, handing the government a double dissolution trigger that they are widely expected to take. With the government floundering over several major policy areas so that exit polling puts the government and opposition at an equal share of the votes, and the four major figures - Turnbull, Shorten, Joyce and Di Natale - all being complete rookies at leading their parties through an election campaign, I wouldn't be surprised if this video is a product of Joyce trying to establish a reputation for himself as being a strongman since he's largely regarded as a lunatic.

Have you seen this man? Let's face it, you'd probably know if you had...

BBC.

...Your link's gone a bit funky there. It's taking me to Walesonline.co.uk, not BBC.

Sorry, correct link, wrong site description :D

Ever wonder what might happen when a bible thumper who only believes in ancient Mosaic law clashes with the new rules and regulations of modern society?

Now you know.
