@TJ - Thanks mate, i'll get there, good race i saw you up in 4th at 1 point how many pit stops did you do?, i did 2 thinking others i was racing would get me with the under cut, but could of & maybe should of done more laps on each set.

I pretty much fall under the expert tuner category . I saw CSLs GT 500 Tune a while ago & in my opinion it's incorrect.

It runs a front rear toe of 0.00 / 0.27 for example . And that's just wrong on any car in GT & won't make it's driver quicker , in fact it will do the opposite.... 👍

Ran with a 0.00/ 0.34 setup today. ;)
I know it reads weird, but it all comes down to preference, and driving style.

It made Degner exit, and Spoon entry considerably more stable, and increased camber helped as well 👍

.. I had a very late night , which became even later as I was defending this thread from a grumpy troll...

Long story for those who didn't get the chance to read it.......

Good on ya!:D
But what did we miss?

@ Ohno , no worries mate . I did 2 stops to maximise tyre performance . It was a good run for sure......

@ Hydro , interesting choice of set up for stability , you will always be faster , ( In my opinion ) with rear closer to zero as there is less friction with the tarmac , but that's all relative lol.

There was a guy who posted a live feed for a GT500 race on this thread , after posting it in the motorsport section too. He wouldn't listen when I asked him what it had to do with an online racing series , and it just went on & on from there lol.

I got the mods involved to settle the dispute , which was pretty funny btw , & they deleted his spam posting from the thread.

Like I say , long story.......

 nice 1 mate, shame i missed it. ;)

Totally off topic, but what do you reckon we'll get if Vettel doesn't win the F1 championship?:D

Missed the entire thing!
Good job TJ 👍
I was really interested in where the posts went
Mods always come through....Weird what people post in threads sometimes, even this series started off with few really odd, and unnecessary posts. But a mod straightened it out 👍

A rear setup like I ran with will obviously have the tire running against the grain versus a 0.00 setup (although I've never noticed a significant, if even noticeable time drop), but 0.00 will create more oversteer (esp. in the NSX's I'm finding out). And I had to go a bit extreme for this race.
It will be interesting to see if it works out week to week.
I imagine that I will continue with safer setups, as opposed to "Go for the Pole" setups, as I really can't argue with today's results.
If I'm going to spin, I'd rather it was down to driver error than a car that's setup in an unforgiving manner.
I can always learn to drive faster, as long as the car stays/goes where I want it ;)

A melted chocolate bar with a RedBull logo that you can't trade, and a new batch of Nissan 370's - all standard.

Fyi... Those pics were made and labelled clean by a GTPlanet super admin (EDK) not me. They are the rules for the official time trial of GTPlanet- GTP_WRS.

But Gamesta sets the rules here so I abide by what he says when I drive in his series. As TJ said every series is free to set it's own regs. Gamesta made it clear he wants two tires inside the white line, but not half of the car.

I fully understood where you got the picture's from & wasn't questioning or making a succession, i watch too much F1 so tend to use their rules, sorry for late reply.;)

Thanks Ohno & Hydro. 👍

The internet can be a weird place lol.

Looking forward to race 3 , Killa Kandy is on top form . I've seen very quick drivers before but his speed is awesome to have here. It shows us that no matter how quick we think we are , there's always someone quicker . Great win mate , now we just need to find someone to beat you !👍

Laguna will be a very challenging race , tight , twisting & sand traps ready to dig you in on every turn. The winner here is going to need a perfect race run , any excursion into the sand will lose you alot of time and a couple of places.

The corkscrew , a dangerous place to overtake , I think I won't risk an overtake through there on Sunday as it's so easy to get it wrong under braking.

Before we close the book on Suzuka, take a look at this. I do this kind of Fast Foward Leaderboard for a series I run and the drivers find it useful to review the race in 5 mins or less:

Best Lap was 1'55.975 by KK... quite the lap. With DragonGT close behind with 1'55.985. The best I managed was 1'56.478

Sorry guys, i'm retiring from league because of my new work shift at sundays... Sorry, good luck on grid to everyone ;-)

That's awesome WRP ! And I watched the full clip too lol.
The next best thing to a race highlights video , I like it. 👍

Was good racing with you Karolinho , sorry you're leaving.

thx wrp, i was really really struggling in the first half of that race, came back from 44 seconds back to like 30 at the finish, good stuff killa, beat my lap by .010:tup:

My race log. Which is an advantage of video capturing the live stats board with me in the small video window. I can watch at 5x in video editing software and see what I did right and wrong in about 10 minutes for entire race 👍

Lap 01: Passed by KingBestJr on start, he later goes wide and I regain position. (3rd to 4th to 3rd)
Lap 01: Battle with Terrible entire lap and got passed before Final Curve (3rd to 4th)
Lap 02: Turn 1, too late braking under draft from terible1fi, go wide into grass/sand and lost 2 spots (Hydro, TJ) and lost 5 seconds (4th to 6th)
Lap 02: Passed TJ between spoon and final curve (6th to 5th)
Lap 02: Final Curve, wide on exit, slipped on rumbles, lost control of car, missed braking for chicane, let TJ pass. Lost 1 position and 4 seconds (5th to 6th)
Lap 04: Final Curve, under draft from TJ, way wide on exit, spun out hit wall, lost 6 seconds and position to Gamesta (6th to 7th)
Lap 05: Pass Gamesta while he is off track (7th to 6th)
Lap 06: Passed DragonGT and TJ who were stopped on s-Curves after incident (6th to 4th)
Lap 06: Final Curve, wide on exit, slipped on outside rumbles, crash into wall, lost 2 spots and 13 seconds (4th to 6th)
Lap 11: Caught TJ & DragonGT's battle for 4th. Passed TJ when he went wide on Final Curve (6th to 5th)
Lap 11: DragonGT pits after Lap 11 (5th to 4th)
Lap 12: Pit after Lap 12 (no fuel, passed by TJ and Dragon while pitting) (4th to 6th)
Lap 15: Pass DragonGT who is stopped on track in S-curves (6th to 5th)
Lap 16: Pass TJ between spoon and last curve (5th to 4th)
Lap 19: After 3 laps of continuous pressure from TJ, go slightly wide on Dunlop and TJ passes (4th to 5th)
Lap 19: Pass TJ between spoon and last curve (5th to 4th)
Lap 21: After 2 *more* laps of continuous pressure from TJ, spin out on S-curves and into wall/sand, drop 2 spots (TJ & Dragon) and lost 20 seconds (4th to 6th)
Lap 24: I pit after Lap 24 (add fuel), no change of position (6th)
Lap 26: Run my fastest lap of race (not draft assisted) 1'56.478
Lap 27: Pass terible1fi just before Final curve (6th to 5th)
Lap 29: Passed by terible1fi going into turn 1 (5th to 6th)
Lap 29: TJ goes off track on Turn 1, terrible and I pass (6th to 5th)
Lap 29: Pass terible1fi just before final curve (5th to 4th)
Lap 30: Passed by terible1fi going into turn 1 (4th to 5th)
Lap 30: Go wide into sand at Degner trying to pressure terible1fi, out of sand and crash into opposite wall. Lost spot to TJ and 19 seconds (5th to 6th)
Lap 30: Pass TJ who is on gravel just before final chicane (6th to 5th)
Lap 35: Finish 5th, 1:08 behind winner KK.

I went off track 6 times (7 if you include the time I crashed into the opposite wall trying to get out of sand on lap 30). Lost a total of 1'07 to those incidents. Lesson learned... keep it on the darn track!!!

I lost it on exit of final curve 3 times in the first 6 laps... I almost never lost it in practice there so that was inexcusable.

If I was to drive the way I drove in that lap in free run mode, It would have been a high 1:56...I was especially confused with that lap because I was being pressurized by Dragon and I kept watching my mirrors...Yesterday in WRP's lounge I gave my absolute all and I only managed a 1:56:493....

Great log WRP . 👍

I also liked reading the continuous pressure from TJ parts. :)
May the wheel to wheel battles continue !

How badly would Heavy damage have hurt you?
That's a lot of walls!
(I highlighted the part I agree with most ;))

...Do the physics differ in the race to free run?

You know, I've wondered that myself.
When I practice online, but in "drive" mode I can get better times than when I run a 15 lap race, even though all race settings are exactly the same. :odd:
The obvious answer is that I run better laps when there's no pressure, and I never check my rear-view, or the map in practice (actually, I never use the map except for online races).
I suppose lack of distractions helps, but I'm not 100% certain if there is a difference
It certainly seems like there is a slight difference..

I agree. I'm always slower in my own lounge with same settings vs gamesta's or hydro's. I never run a 1'56.2 before today. And that lap wasn't perfect.

Guess I'll just have to practise in Gamestaa's lounge from now on..:P

I felt that on the first lap of the race , on cold tyres , that there was a lot less grip in the first few corners than coming out of the pits for free run quali . I actually almost dropped it completely at one point as I misjudged the grip levels just before the crossover and went skidding through the grass.......

I'm just gonna guestimate this but I wonder if the tyres in " Free run / Quali " mode are pre heated when you exit the pitlane , as opposed to a cold tyre race start ? Really not sure about that one....

On the laptime side of things in the race , in clean air I was running the same practice times . And my best lap was draft assisted courtesy of WRP's shiny rear wing.

Hey guys it sucks that my power decided to have a glitch for a split second it just cut off and right back on and it cut my playstation off. It definetly p'd me off run that many laps just to be erased lol. Well anyways i got on and ran a few laps at laguna seca was just wondering what you guys are running. Best i put up so far was a 1:21.2 but can run 121's pretty consistently. Hope yall wont be running 119's or something lol.

Great race this past sunday. Great wheel to wheel action with Hydro and WRP, good stuff guys.

tire wear could be a problem, i think the track tears em up worse then suzuka. tires not warming up though could be a an issue in the game, i've noticed the track i have already set for my lounge, when i first go into it and run that track it seems like my tires never warm up and stay dark blue, but when i switch tracks in lounge and go back to it, they're warming up finally, idk if this is an issue with other people but its just something i've noticed.

Yeah its the same for me too...The tyres not warming up has been fixed...So has the tyre wear..I was driving like a throttle wh0r3...what times have everyone been doing?

I ran a 121.2 last night about to get on now and run a few laps if anyone on and wants to practice some

@killa Are u on gt5 now still practicing?

I've heard about that bug/issue before. If you stay at the default track for your lounge the tires don't heat properly. Instead, set the default track to something small and quick loading like Autumn Ring Mini and then change it to whatever track you are running once you are in the lounge.

Im in my lounge practicing some now if anyone wants to join your more than welcome. If not on friends list just send friend request to KingBestJr.
