I wish I could race with you guys next season. Most likely it'll be over the winter so won't be able to commit every weekend. If there is an open grid spot I may request to join every other week (or so) in whatever car happens to be free, but will watch from a distance if you are full. I'll be back for season 5 if there is one.

But this season is only half over and a lot of racing left. 👍 Looking forward to Spa of course, but La Sarthe after that and the return of KK to the series. I've never raced in a time change event. Raced at night and at night in the rain, but never in a time change scenario. How does that work? Does it cycle through 24 hours during the course of the race?

Always good to race you mate . 👍
Agreed +1 .

I presume Gamesta will start us underway in daylight , the track will turn dark & we should hit daylight again near the end . Depending on the speed of the time changing settings that is . If it's set on 1 , it's 1:1 minute ( Real Time ) . If it's on 60 , then it's 1:60 , ( 1 hour every minute ) . 👍

Yes, Last season We started at dusk drove thru the night and ended in the day. It's to give the whole 24hrs race feel also adds a whole new dimension to the race.

I've had similar races before .

Night time is a whole different ball game yep , it's always fun to make use of your lights though . Very handy if you have to lap someone too :)

Le Sarthe is a beautiful track under dusk conditions too.

It depends on how long the race is and at which speed you set the time to...You can also set what you want the time to be at the start of the race...

I was completely blown away last season...

It is great isn't it ? The normal daytime version doesn't look anywhere near as good as Le Sarthe at dusk / sunrise in my opinion .

;)

Free Practice room will be open in 1 hour and 14 mins

👍 Thanks Dragon. The first (however many) laps were just intense between you, Hydro and I. Great battles and clean driving. Of course the occasional taps by all of us (including me), but nothing that cost much time and of course no way to avoid when driving that close on this track. T1 and T3 were just amazing catch up draft spots and it was impossible for any of us to get away. That one battle between you and Hydro at the end of T1 on Lap 7 or 8 was the only thing that let me slip away.... and then 2 laps on really warn tires played to my advantage.

In the 2nd and 3rd stint you were gaining on me with cold tires and then fresh tires for 2-3 laps, but I think my tires held out better (for once) and later in the run I was able to open up the gap again. But it wasn't big enough that I could relax until the last couple laps. I knew if you got to my slip that it was going to be all out war.

I was being extra careful on Lap 17 not to repeat last weeks gift spin.

Glad to finally get the monkey off my back and get both a pole and a win. Looking forward to more battles the rest of the season and KK returning to the grid. Hope Terrible and King both show up the rest of the season as it's nice to have a 12+ car grid and provides battles all over the track.

Great win Tim 👍
Really well done. Amazingly consistent.

The first 9 laps of the race were easily the closest, and most intense racing I've ever had :D

Running with You and Dragon was just incredible fun 👍
I watched the first 10 laps from the trailing Cam view of my car, and it was awesome!
Here's a pic from lap 5 (or 4, or 6) that sums up how close it was:

Look closer - there's 3 of us!

My switch to the Yellowhat has worked out pretty well, but I destroy the tires using the setup I have, and my low tire laps were very tough to stay fast.
Lap 10 I almost spun in the straight following Malmedy, then after I recovered, I almost immediately spun it again :(
From there, I never really saw you two again.

Check the replay on lap 10 - your tires were in great shape compared to mine, and Nepalii's, with Dragon's in between.
It looks like the tires you had on lap 10 matched mine on lap 8-9.

👍 Gamesta for adding the Spa circuit.

hey guys just watching the replay now and wow, some really good battles up front. wrp, dragon and hydro u guys ran a tight ship the first 7 laps... i was really impressed on how clean it was considering how close together u were.
i got a couple good photos so far from the race. not sure how to upload them but if any one has interest i can send them over psn. tried to get some photos of the cars in the pit but the walls r too high :( i have done if before on fuji and it turned out pretty good.
this was first time i have ever done a race online that was more then 10 laps. im a little disappointed with myself but had lots of fun non the less. my goals for this race were 1) to finish and 2) not to be lapped.... well i failed both lol. well i look forward to next week great racing with u guys and thanks for letting me take part. hopefully i do better at la sarth lol. i will have practice lounges open through out the week if any one wants to join

I'll definitely look for you online 👍
Myself and WRP are usually in a lobby somewhere practicing, as that is really the key to this series - Practice.

We often run mini races to better understand drafting, and the effects of close racing. It seriously paid off today.
I must admit, my heart rate was up a bit until lap 10-11. Chasing those two so closely, and then having Dragon in my rear view for a whole lap was the very definition of Intimidation :nervous:

BTW - Just start up a free account at Photobucket.com, and you can link the pics to this, and any thread.

Congrats to WRP on his first win this season , it's been steadily getting closer for him every time .

Great racing today , clean & competitive . You GTR boys had a great battle today . 👍

Congrats to dragon and the podium finishers. I had a good race; I had to stay consistent and kept it on the road to beat Gamesta. Like TJ predicted, top 6. Happy with that.

No spins today and no excursions into the sand box, but I cut Radillion on worn tires a few times because of the momentum of the car in my poor line. I also had to take a few wide exits in La Source, Pouhon and Blanchimont. Spa is forgiving in these places, because you only lose a few tenths when you make a mistake on worn tires; other tracks (like La Sarthe) aren't so forgiving.

Terrible start though, I found myself in last coming out of La Source. I had to avoid Nepalii off the grid and then took La Source with a tight line because I didn't know if anyone was outside me.

I must apologize to Brettcee for smashing into him on lap 1 at Les Combes. I backed off to let him keep the place, but it still lost him time. I also tapped him when I was too aggressive in Les Fagnes, apologies for that as well.

Here's the leaderboard video for Round 6 - Spa:

The lead swapped back and forth just about every lap at the beginning under draft on the straight after Eau Rouge for the first 6 laps. Any lead gained on the technical second sector was reduced in the high draft sector 3 and then slip stream passes were possible in sector 1 of the next lap.

The turning point was in Lap 7. I drafted past Dragon at the usual spot for 1st and Hydro followed me into 2nd. I then pushed as hard as I could thru sector 2 on worn tires, but significantly better condition than Hydro's fronts, gaining 1.3 seconds in that sector alone.

My lead at the line going into lap 8 was 2 seconds which was just enough to keep Hydro out of the strength of my slipstream. Coming out of Eau Rouge Dragon drafted up to Hydro, but couldn't complete a clean pass soon enough to sling shot up into my slipstream. Dragon and I ran almost identical times through the rest of lap 8, but Hydro had a couple wobbles in T2 putting him back another second and out of Dragons slipstream.

At the line going into Lap 9 I was up 2.6 on Dragon and 4.5 on Hydro. That was enough to break the slipstream completely and allow me to pull away by 1.3 seconds in Lap 9 and 1.6 seconds in Lap 10 when we all pitted. I came out of the pits with a 6 second lead.

The final two stints were basically about running 20 time trial type laps without making a mistake and letting Dragon or Hydro in my slipstream and getting by lapped traffic clean. This time it all worked out and I crossed the line after 30 laps with an almost 10 second lead. I ran alone for those 20 laps, but Dragons arrow wasn't far behind and the pressure wasn't off until the final couple laps.

Check the replay on lap 10 - your tires were in great shape compared to mine, and Nepalii's, with Dragon's in between.

Yes, you are right. Here's the tires from the same time on Lap 10 before we came into the pits:

Here's an HD video of the battle between the top 3 yesterday over the first stint (10 laps). Warning: it's long (20+ mins) as there was nothing I wanted to edit out.

great pic on that tire wear, i've used a similar setup at spa as I have at all the other tracks I've had good tire wear, and well was that a failure here. your tires were way better considering your lap times were that much faster then mine. great setup wrp.

big thx to that video, the racing was great between us.

I didn't change my setup at all. In fact I'm still using the same setup I used all season which is the praiano stock setup. Only thing I ever change is final gear for each track.

As much as anything practice this week was the difference. I put in more time than any other race this season because I loved the track so much (and it was new). Although now I'm starting to get a little Spa-burnout... have to tough it out a few more days as I have a race there on Wednesday. Then it's on to La Sarthe and some night driving. 👍

That was an awesome battle for first...I bet your heart was in your mouth at lap 4 turn 1...Bring on Sarthe!!!!

Yah, that was really my only slip-up the entire race and didn't end up costing me much of anything. I got back on the gas really well getting out of turn 1 and thought I had it lined up perfectly to just touch rumbles, but the car just pushed like crazy to the outside for some reason. Luckily I had enough practice to know not to try and whip it back too fast. That green stuff is nasty slippery.

I was pretty impressed with Dragon's driving at the end of that 4th lap. With three of us going into the final chicane it was very tricky. The lead car had to *not* brake early. The 2nd car had to brake early enough not to tap the front car and not too early to get rear ended by the 3rd car. And the 3rd car had to brake *way* early and try to guess where the 2nd car was going to brake and then feather the brake to close the gap by apex. On that lap, either Hydro missed timed a bit or Dragon broke a little early, but after getting the tap off line Dragon kept his cool, bypassed the chicane and got right back in line. Didn't end up costing him much as he passed me for lead two laps later anyway. That's definitely a model for the way to handle a situation like that.

Also, you'll notice from the leader board video that we weren't running at the limit the first 7 laps. When I was leading by just a car length or two going into T2 there was no point in trying to kill the tires and get a second lead. It was next to impossible to pass in T2 and impossible to get away in T3 with the draft so I just ran a good reasonably fast safe line and didn't push too hard in that section. When behind I did the same and just tried to get to T3 with a less than second deficit. As soon as I was in the lead and saw an opening to gap them after T1 on lap 7 I then really pushed hard for the rest of the laps in the stint. Running a 2'14.609 was pushing as hard as I could on 7 lap tires.

I think we all pushed harder in stint 2 and you started seeing the 2'13 laps pretty consistently for all of us. I ran a 2'13 pace for four straight laps from lap 12 to 15.

Nice Pics Gamesta. Hey, I've been working on a general points document using google documents and figured I enter the information from this series to test it out.

Check it out and let me know if you would like to adopt. It would be easy enough for me to send this to you gamesta so you could update or we could just collaborate on it. Should make the points tally pretty easy and even includes a place to put penalties. Basically all you have to do is update the "Raw Results" worksheet with the results from the latest race and the points table refresh automatically. I've got spa results already put in, but filtering them out in the tables until they become official and any penalties applied.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...GMdExtRExsZXlMRzdBcy1LWktzeDAybEE&output=html

You'd need some sort of google ID to edit good documents though (gmail or something).

PS> I'm getting slightly different totals for a couple drivers and team totals... they are close... maybe I'm missing a couple penalties or something.

That is simply amaizing WRP!!!

I have finally decided on a Prize Structure for this season.

Drivers Championship
1st Choice of Premium Super GT
2nd Choice of Premium Super GT
3rd Choice of Premium Super GT

Team Championship
1st Choice of 250,000cr Premium Car
2nd Random Car
3rd Random Car

Anyways everyone will be getting a prize if you partipated in 4 or more races within the season. If you did not participate in 4 or more you will not recieve the prize.

EDIT:Also the Review is 50% complete and so far so good will have the results by tomorrow Evening

great pics gamesta. and nice stuff as always wrp, nice to see you got all thie info from each of our races this season.

also with circuit de la sarthe. alot of places people can cut and gain alot of time. please be sure to keep it where the track is, at least two tires where the track is suppose to be. can see people using runoff easily and whatnot. i've posted times in the 3.56 range, think I got alot i could make up.
