Awesome time...I set a 50:396 in my lounge earlier with sagaris around on my 3rd flying lap...Its ofcourse about having a good race pace which is where points are picked up...You looking at a one stop strategy?

3:52.0 is fast. 3:50.3 is ridiculous. Glad I got my first win last week because I'm not winning here unless you guys make a mistake or I find a golden setup bullet.

I sure would but I dont think you will go 10 laps with heavy fuel so im guessing 2 stoppers for us all....I also just realised 20 laps in Sarthe is pushing 90 mins and with 70-80% of the track full throttle....which subsequently means keeping your thumb or right foot firmly pressed down for 63-72 minutes....Good luck keeping your right foot awake to the wheel users and good luck keeping your thumb from deforming to the DS3 users...:scared:

won't be a problem for me, i've done 30+ lap races here multiple times, can't wait for this race.

king will be attending this weekend at le mans:tup: lets go team nismo

Now we need Terrible1Fi to show up for team Nissan. It would be nice on a large track like this to have a full grid.

EDIT: Messed with my "A" setup (over and over) and ran 3'51.452. There's no way setup "A" can go 10 laps without being on rims. Setup "B" is a bit slower, but can be dragged out for 10 laps.

EDIT: 1000th post! 👍

heyhey 1000 comments....Just shows how popular this series is....
anyways...Gamestaa, Whats the plan in two weeks time when F1 takes a trip to interlagos? The race start and the Nurburgring 24hr qualifying is at the same time.....I know you're a close F1 spectator as well as many others in this series.... I'm cool with whatever you decide...

YEs, I will most likly post pone the race 1 week or hold it later in the day after F1.

If you postpone a week, moving last race to dec 11, you eliminate me for sure as I'm away starting Dec 10.

Since we have moved the season finale twice now... Once for the last time you couldn't race and once to add spa, we are moving out of my window with one more move. I have travel beginning Dec 10 thru end of year.

Honestly I may miss anyway for skiing, but this just makes it certain. I'm ok with delaying one hour for sure, but others may have conflicts.

Or you just use a dvr and tape delay f1 until after our race like i do every week  a total point deduction if anyone mentions the results during our race.

I'd hate to miss the finale, but I might anyway so just do what's best for you and other drivers. Adding spa put my finale in question, but it was worth it!

Yes, I will check to see if I can get a replay or what not of F1 first before I decide to change the final around. The problem I have is that Speed's Broadcast of the race gets blocked out due to a contract between the BBC and a Canadian sports channel so if that specfic sports channel doesn't give me a replay iw ill miss the race entirly ( no DVR,PVR or VCR lol). But luckily I live in Montreal so I have the French broadcast aswell so hopefully they will give a repeat. But of all races I do not want to miss the 24hrs of Nur and I would really like to have as close to a fulll grid there.

Gamestaa-One option is to postpone qualifying by 90 mins or so...If anything it would make things easier for the north american drivers since they'll get extra sleep...The only other non american drivers are me and TJ...Im cool with the 90 min delay, just depends on whether TJ is cool with it or not...just a thought

+1 . 👍

I'm easy going & that's not a problem for me . :)

( no DVR,PVR or VCR lol).

:boggled: don't remember what life was like before dvr. Can't watch anything live anymore and hate commercials.

TSN doesn't do repeat showings of races, but RDS does it very often. You'd probably have multiple chances to catch the race later in the week.

I have a practice room open this evening. Anyone is free to join :)

Here are the points total and Team Points total in cluding Spa and all penalties all of Hydro's points he gained with team Honda/Lexus stay with that team. Remy's points do not count towards team totals as the teams were not finalized.

Gamesta... I don't mean to be a pain in your side, but you've got some mistakes on here again.

Forget the team points for now, but if you just look at the drivers points I've highlighted what I believe to be the errors with documentation:

Suzuka: See your original post:

This is the points and Penalties for Round 2 of the series. Non Negociable and remember that the points can be made back with one good race.

DragonGT83 - 5 Points Pit lane infraction
Kingsbestjr -5 points Avoidable collison

6224931379_019336fcf5_b.jpg

In your original tally after suzuka you forgot to subtract the penalties and you've forgotten again. Dragon came in 3rd and won pole = 61 points. Minus 5 points for his pit line infraction and that's 56 points. KingJr got a 5 point penalty and a DNF which is -5 points. And the drivers who finished below 20 points all got the wrong point totals. TJ should have 18 and not 16, Gamesta should have 16 and not 14 and Brettcee should have 12 for 9th. Terrible1Fi should have 40 points for suzuka (and none for Laguna so those are just flipped).

Laguna

Terrible didn't even run Laguna so should have 0 as pointed out above. TJ should have 18 and not 16. There were no penalties at Laguna:

There will be NO penalties issued for Laguna Seca.

6261824400_7c0fb3c4df_b.jpg

Finally, you've got the headers swapped for Indy and Daytona. The first race we ran was Indy and then Daytona... Remember, Dragon got his 20 point penalty there for speeding on pit road and got 81 points. The points are all correct there if you just swap the column headers.

Once those are fixed the team totals should auto update.

Really you should switch to the google spreadsheet. I can turn it over to you or share with you if you have a google ID and you can make edits yourself... But it'll get rid of the math issues and tracking multiple versions, etc. Plus, if you make changes in one place (raw data) all the other tables and calculations are automatically updated. Believe me it's faster now that I've put it together and you can use it for future seasons (just make a new copy each season).

Ahhh Dag nabbit lol. Ok I am gonna look at this again as I had to edit the latest one like 6 times either thanks for catching it again WRP. I have no Idea why I keep making these errors but I will get it sorted out.

I appreciate the hard work that goes into the series & I know that keeping on top of the points can be a pain too .

We'll get there . 👍

I was a bit mystified in losing 4 points in the table & agree that WRP's totalling of 130 for me is correct as I finished in 6th 3 times in a row . 👍

He here is my latest attempt of getting the points sorted

missed the race by 1 min....... sry to my team m8s had a suprise visit from family so i had too wait for them to leave... watched some of the race and it was lookn pretty good. really wish i could have been there with u guys

I guess it wasn't a good race for me. Countless errors during the night, three more during the sunrise/day. It was not pretty. I consider myself lucky to have finished as the top non-GTR. Could have been so much better though.

Apologies to everyone I hit, though they were all minor scuffles bar the shunt I gave Hydro on lap 1. After checking the replay, it was definitely my fault as I had ample time to brake but didn't. During the race it happened very fast, but my concentration wasn't fully on the car ahead of me. I'll take any penalty given.

My race report:

I thought I'd write it since its still fresh in my mind..

I got off to a relatively good start and was right on WRP's rear wing. I had to brake early to avode collecting WRP which led to being taken around the outside by some in a Takata Dome (sorry dunno who it is) and I lost a fair bit of time in the first sector which meant I couldnt get into WRP's spipstream. I'd closed the glap to 1-2 seconds just before arnage until i'd been side swiped by the same takata dome driver (must have been a mistake). On the second stint I attacked the hell out of the tires and towards the end of the stint I was 7-8 seconds in the lead. But then disaster struck in the shape of a SMALL fuel tank:lol:. My 7 second lead dispersed when WRP followed me into the pit and was right on my bumper as we rolled down the put entry at 60mph. I refueled 58L!!! as I didnt want another repeat of what just happened and I later found out it was 10L or so too many. I eventually left the pits 20 odd seconds behind dragon with 6 laps to go. In the end I finished 12 seconds behind WRP and 5 seconds behind dragon.

Excellent work on the race win. Faultless drive. Good job to dragon on making the 1 stopper. Great race everyone, I'll shut up now...

See ya'll at Nurburgring...

Don't sweat it 👍
I saw the replay, and it wasn't a hard hit, just a very timely one :)
Admittedly, it pissed me off pretty bad, and I ran hot (and all over the place ;)) for a few laps, but in the end it's racing, and 🤬 happens sometimes.

Still had a great time, and had fun taking back all the positions I could, but KK, Dragon, and WRP were their usual consistently fast selves, so 4th was all I could manage.

Lap 2 I blew the final chicanes, and ran an odd line, forcing TJ out, but I ceeded the position gain, and I hope it didn't affect his lap / race much.
I wasn't trying to pass anyway, but I screwed it up none the less.

Had some great fun with Terrible in the final stint. 👍
This track is awesome when you are running with other drivers closely.
I tapped him in the Porche curves (I missed the brake point), but he held on, and made an amazing recovery 👍
Sucked that you spun later, that would have been a great racing finish for both of us.

My race report:

I managed a good quali lap (3'51.586) on my first hot lap (even though I had to pass someone on the quali lap). Being on pole was key here and I knew it would be. I thought I could run 3'51 flat, but made a mistake on my next quali lap. At that point I just watched the rest of quali waiting for KK to run a 3'50 and knock me off pole. Lucky for me it didn't happen.

I got a very good start from the line and a clean drive through the first chicane and entire first sector. I saw some carnage behind, but Dragon escaped and was right behind going into the back straight. He slipped on the outside rumble and hit the wall and that opened the door for me to brake the slip. Positions 2-4 battled through that straight and I extended my lead to like 3 seconds. I thought Dragon would go to the back for sure, but looking at the replay, his car hit the wall and just righted itself so damage was not as bad as I expected. It would have been a completely different story if he had spun backward. Dragon and Hydro would have been racing the initial laps together.

From there it was just about maintaining my pace and keeping the gap just large enough to avoid anyone catching my slip. The pack settled behind with KK and Dragon following at about equal intervals ranging from 2.5-5.0 seconds depending on the lap. I was planning to run a two stop 7/7/6 strategy and wanted to maintain consistent times and not kill the tires so I ran aggressive, but safe laps until my pit.

KK pitted a lap earlier (after lap 6) so he was able to make up some time on his out lap while I was on old tires. His pit was also faster because he added no fuel and I added 18L knowing I was going to do another 7 lap stint. When I came out of the pits KK got in front of me and Terrible split us. I thought that might cost me the race as it allowed KK to keep me out of his slip. Terrible spun going into the back straight, but KK had already gotten away and I was still trying to warm my new cold tires. I hoped to drop the gap steadily since I was on 1 lap fresher tires than KK, but as it turns out KK was on lighter fuel so I couldn't do much with the gap. Near the end of the stint I started gaining and had the gap down to 3 seconds when I caught some grass in the Porsche curves and slid off track. Luckily I didn't spin or do any damage, but it cost me 5 seconds and at the time I figured it cost me a shot at 1st place. By this point I knew Dragon was on a one stop strategy so I still had to push.

I was more conservative for a few laps and KK started to get away a little. His fuel weight was next to zero and I just couldn't match the times so there was no point in crashing. After lap 14, as I approached the pits, KK was just sitting there blocking the pit entrance and out of fuel. I had to literally push him to the pits until the AI took over. It eliminated his gap to me, but also let Dragon gain at least 3-5 seconds. I took on whatever the AI recommended for fuel (plus 2 liters for insurance) and got out of the pits a lot faster than KK because he had an empty tank and he took on too much fuel.

At that point, barring mistakes, the race was between Dragon and I. He had about a 7 second lead after my out lap and with warm tires I could carve 2+ seconds pretty easily per lap versus his 6-7 lap old tires. So with 4 to go I knew the race was mine if I didn't make a mistake. I caught Dragon around lap 18 on the back straight and we draft passed eachother a few times. My strategy was just to be ahead going into the technical sectors at the end of the lap and then let my tires do the work. I knew from race practice that following under draft made the car push badly in the Porsche curves so I just needed him behind and not beside. That worked out and after one run through there I had a 2+ second lead. From there I just ran very conservative laps and extend the lead by 1-1.5 seconds per lap. I knew Dragon had to be careful as KK was closing in on him also. One off and he could easily lose 20 points in the championship.

The last few laps went without incident and I basically coasted through the final lap and especially final sector not taking any chances and didn't celebrate until I was straight and pointed at the finish after the final chicane.

Great race! I got lucky with KK running out of gas (Nissan team orders and all), but had he fueled properly in pit 1 the entire race would have been different so who knows what would have happened. KK would have had a slower first pit and been slower through that 2nd stint with the extra weight and had more tire wear... I think it would have been *very* close... that's for sure. But I'll take the win anyway I can get it. And I'll take 20 laps around La Sarthe, much of them in the dark, with only one mistake that cost me 5 seconds any day.

I'll post the live leader board video later today and update the splits quoted above which are just from memory at this point.
