Thank you Nenad:cheers:
Nice job on the last subaru set. But this really made my jaw drop:

Thanks a lot hgrf93:cheers:
Awesome work, G!
I really need to get a photo shoot in with you!
Let me know when!!! Cheers Zach:cheers:
My favourite has to be the third one due to the mood and composition.
Thanks:cheers:
This gallery needs an update with your latest stuff.

I agree with Nicolas.

Nic & Jérémy - I'm on it, but first something I've been meaning to do since August......

Spa Grand Prix 2014

Now I know that this is a photomode gallery, but I am sticking this in here because it is completely relevant. If it weren't for GT photomode, I just wouldn't have seen half of what was there!

This is my first ever Grand Prix and it is my favourite track - there was always something magical about the Belgian Grand Prix as a kid watching it on TV - very similar to the old Hockenheim circuit - must be the dangerous combination of trees, weather and high speed!!!

After having explored the track on a whole range of driving games, my visit to Spa was definitley with my photomode-head on!! And after many photoshoots and comps, and after establishing the circuit as the Tactical Crew HQ, this post is dedicated to Gary, Paul, the Tactical Crew and all photomoders:cheers:

After driving the 10k from the campsite and finding a car park, the rest of the pilgrimage was on foot through the town of Francorchamps - which is completely F1 mad!!! This is Friday Practice.

And once through the gate, walking parallel with the track down to Eau Rouge, amongst the burger and waffle stands, this was the view that took my breath away!! That's not a corner, it's a mountain!!!

And once under the walkway at Eau Rouge, P1 had just started - my first experience of these beasts roaring up Raidillon!

While all this speed, noise, fuel and carbon fiber shoots past, there is the calm and serene Eau Rouge stream - 'Red Water' which has a browny tint due to the high iron content:

Armed with the circuit guide, we decided to check the rest of the circuit and head cross-country!

Some iPhone shots....

In the trees at the Bus Stop chicane...

What was interesting here was listening to the way the drivers downshift for this corner. Some descended the gears smoothly & equally spaced, others (especially Sutil) would have long 6th, 5th & 4th followed by very quick 3rd, 2nd & 1st.

This shot was taken from in trees here. It has been cropped and little enhancement well within the 2.0 rules!!;)

Here are a few more in-field gems (once a photomoder, always a photomoder!):

For Gary!

Most of us are familiar with the buildings in the circuit. I had to find them and capture them. Sadly, access at Stavelot was limited for spectators - the medical centre after Stavelot 2 was one building I couldn't get to!! Here are some of the others:

In the catch-fencing here and there, there are small holes for budding cameramen. Here's a couple of shots from Raidillon that I'm pleased with. (PMC rules here):

The views of the circuit were amazing. It sits in a natural bowl: downhill from La Source to Eau Rouge, then a steep climb up to Kemmel - which keeps climbing all the way to Les Combes. Then it's back down through Rivage and Pouhon to Stavelot. Then it climbs gently through Blanchimont to the start/finish straight.

These 2 shots show the gradients perfectly:

Other great views:

Saturday Qualifying
It was a bit of a damp morning:

The BBC were there with David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan:

Race Day

Walking through the gates at 7.10am. The clouds are something else at Spa!!! And then the sun shone for a golden sunrise:

Unedited!

What was really funny was watching a bus go up out of Eau Rouge ferrying the marshalls to their posts around the circuit!!! I wish I'd caught that on camera!
However, under an hour later it was very foggy:

These panos captured the weather and the clouds beautifully:

Some other panos from the weekend:

The cars! I tried and mostly failed. Trying to pan the camera is a dark art - and thank goodness for digital technology!! Out of the few hundred attempts here are the handful that worked!
Unedited:

Edited - mainly cropped, minor colour adjustment, subtle vignette, frame, a touch of grain on the first Hamilton shot. Nothing else.

And for me, this one was worth all of the effort!

That's it, hope you enjoyed it!! Spa forever!!
Best wishes from Raidillon! Hallowed Ground.
Eric & the kids!

Love the action shot of the guy running!!! Class!

More awesome shots Eric! Particularly love those LM55 shots! 👍👍

EDIT: woah an update came whilst i was typing! Its my lucky day!

I don't know why but it seems that I missed to comment on your LM55 shots. They're brilliant, haven't had time to shoot it yet but I will definitely give it a go. 2nd one of them is my fave.

And concerning the Supra, the set is nice with some good light and toning. 1 and 4 are the best ones for me.

👍

PMC Tourney Round 2 Rejects

The theme was: Here's My Number So Don't Quote That Song - take a picture of any car which you've put your own driver number on.

So my thinking behind this idea was basically this: to make the driver number stand out, I need a car that you wouldn't normally stick a number on. The Pagani Huayra seemed the best choice for me. Its sleek, sexy, fast and screams "please don't put your number on me!!"

I wanted to use cars travelling in the opposite direction to act as filters for the Huayra and hopefully add texture and un-GT6 colours. Its a great technique that I have used before when I once saw @Kodje Jérémy use to brilliant effect in many of his shots.

I used SSRX as I can max out the car, drive it the wrong way against the flow of other hypercars. I set the time to 14.30 for a good sunlight/shadow combo.

I also aimed to use the cross-processing filters and the EV to create a good range of colours that move away from the plastic GT6 colours.

A warm up shot just to evaluate the light & shadows:

Now that the cars are heading round and I'm heading the wrong way round SSRX we begin shooting for real:

This one has a kind of red filter thanks to a red Ferrari:

In this shot I want the red glow to look like a light-leak:

This one has a superb effect that resembles a flare coming from the front wing - not too dissimilar to Ilya's @ShaolinMasta textures:

This one was taken with the first cross-process filter which added a nice green tone to contrast with the red tones and I loved the textures in front of the image - looks like it was taken through a window of another vehicle:

And the final entry was this one. For me, it had a light-leak in the right bottom corner, heavy blurring in the background and rich reds, purples and cyans - quite an un-GT6 colour palette. The cross-process 1 filter was key here and it helped the black & white of the driver number stand out (as that was key to the theme) and in the composition the driver number is deliberately placed off-centre to catch the eye of the viewer - as well as clashing with the Huayra.

Toyota set is just amazing. i like the most 1,3,4,5 - speed is just great and camera angle.
Great idea with the passing car - never think about it. Thanks for some tips my friend

You and that Supra at Midfield are a golden combination, wicked shots!

Every time I visit your gallery, Eric, I notice that you're incrementally stepping your game up. :) 👍

My favourite from post 319 has to be shot number 2.

Thanks a lot guys!:embarrassed: Much appreciated as always:cheers:
