Gold in the tests

lol, to be honest i never had enought time to find that out, i think i got it first go

I can't do that stupid 90 into park thing...do you use the handbrake, brake or both? I've gotten 97% so far on that test.

I've only got all golds in the bike school. As far as I know, you don't need all golds in the schools for 100%, just to pass them all, so I couldn't be arsed. I might get gold eventually but I'm not concerned right now.

As for gold in the last bike test, I found it easy enough. It doesn't matter where you land or how you screw up the stoppie, all you have to do is not bring the bike to a complete halt before you drive into the final position. I landed the bike, did a 1 or 2 second stoppie and finished at right angles to the end position and several yards off course, but I had 3 or 4 seconds to drive it around and park it pointing the right position and in the right direction. Just keep the bike moving.

The really big thing that messes me up is that the view doesn't stay behind the car when you turn. I hate having to take turns that way. And pressing the side-view buttons to bring the view straight again is just too annoying.

For the 90 Degree Parking, use both Handbrake and Brake at the same time, but don't over-do it. Find a "Start Braking" spot, and stick to it. Keep at it.

For the Jump and Stoppie, you can also fall off and no percentage is deducted. Blake also found a glitch I believe, which I can't really remember well. But I think you can Wheelie instead of Stoppie.

Ah I rule! :D Did the gold tests for cars...Now I think boat school can be accessed so it's time to get some cool boats.

Yeah for the bike on just duck your head down as soon as you start then you'll jump far enough that all you have to do is brake when you land and you get gold. So just jump and stop in the designated area.

Yeah, that was what you did, but when I tried something like that, I missed by about 15%. Maybe I just wasn't riding fast enough. Anyway, it's a good idea for anyone really stuck on that Test.

I hate the Pilot School with a passion. Who said the Driving School is the hardest? I can't even pass the Circle Airstrip And Land test, nether lone get gold! :grumpy:

Got all Gold on Boat on the weekend... that was easy... I found the hardest one was the first test!!

Other progress is all gold on Bike and at least Silver on Pilot and Driving...

That one was the hardest for me too-- try to hit each corona as you are turning so you can see the next one off in the distance-- helps line them up-- I didn't use my rudder too much but it does help tighten your turn if you need to. For the landing part-- be careful on your landing (to avoid damage) and make sure you are pointed east (toward the city) when you stop to get the full position points.

When you do the roll and loop tests--- put your view on first person--makes it alot easier.

Use your minigun on the hunter test to blow up the targets.

Getting all gold at the flight school gives you the Hunter so its worth it.

The Circle Airstrip and Land test was certainly the hardest. I always had trouble getting the last corona where you change direction and altitude slightly, and then straightening it up for the landing. I passed the test easily, but Golding it will be fairly difficult. I can do it with some patience.

I kept stuffing up the landing, I kept forgetting to straighten up my landing with the rudders, not the analogue stick. My landings were shocking for a while there.

Yeah, that's a problem I'm having. I keep trying to straighten with the Analog Stick, and I forget about the rudders until it's too late. I'm getting the hang of it, but I still forget it fairly often.

I breezed through the Bike School. I can definately say it was the easiest school for me.
Yeah same for me.
But this car one is qiving me grief, just need 3 more golds and there all on the hard ones. i.e the reverse 180, P.I.T and the final test with the Super GT.

I have'nt tride gold ontplane or boat school but i imagine boat won't be too hard but im thinkin plane will be difficult.

I got gold on the Burn and Lap today with 35.839 seconds. :dopey:

KM.

yeah i got uner 36 seconds too.. i started getting frustrated at first but took a break came back to it and got gold first try (i love it when that happens :))

with the circle airstrip and land, if you dont do it already let go of x right before you turn and press it again when you start coming out of the turn with very very slight analog stick movements in the desired direction... at first i had a lot of trouble with this one and the one not involving landing also... just move the analog stick in very small increments using rudders to turn sharper if necessary... when landing you should put your landing gear down right after you pass through the last corona... then press and hold square about 1/3-1/2 the distance from the beginning of the runway to the red circle you're supposed to stop in.. after you get the plane pretty much leveled, you shouldn't need to use the stick at all, just the rudders

Hey Jimmy, have you gotten the Burn and Lap yet >? I just can't get it either, I've gotten 98%....oh well, back to lapping

no but i know it has to be around 84 seconds to gold it. IM sure you have to be faster than 85 or so but im not positive, i golded this one and golded it for my mate as well so im pretty good at it now.

No. :grumpy:

I haven't tried again though, but I will in time. I probably will go back there and get it with relative ease. Just my luck, it is.

My brother is a "Pro-Burn and Lap-ing". He did it in about 3 attempts, then he did it for me in about 4 attempts.

He told me: "Use R1 to slow down then turn without doing 180's"

I think it may be the key to gold it o_O

I got it on about my 4th attempt. It's not that hard really. I just figured out that when making the 180 turns, it'd be much faster to cut the inside line of cones as tight as possible and to go nowhere near the outside bend. As soon as I realised that after a couple of crap runs, I made a sub-36 run easy.

I have all silvers now, I just have 3 or 4 of them to get 100% in (including the last one). But at least I have a Bullet within a few hundred yards of my save point in Doherty.

City Slicking is easy (that's the last Driving School Test). Just remember that the time shouldn't give you much trouble, so don't try and drive as fast as possible. Also, on the last turn, don't 180 at a high speed. Slow down a bit, so you can let the tail of the Super GT flick out. If you don't let the tail flick out, the car will stop and you will fail the Race. Be very careful with that corner.

Also, watch the first turn as cars love to drive right in front of you.

So you don't have to get a good time you just need to stay undamaged and dont stop?

I'm almost positive I remember the target time for that is 80 seconds (to get the full amount for your time)-- the circle airstrip (without landing was 60 seconds).

Also for that landing test--- I wait a bit to lower my gear since it slows you down (so you might not meet the target time) but line up with the runway and fly pretty low on your approach, then just lower your gear and cut your speed and you land pretty easily--- then just taxi over the target spot and stop without turning your plane. I had more problems getting all the coronas then the landing (not that it didn't take me a few tries to get the landing, but getting all the coronas kicked my butt alot--I did that test easily 25 times).
