Gold in the tests

I found the coronas part easy, the landing had some voodoo thing against me.

The time was only a problem with me once, I got everything perfect and was wondering why I didn't get gold, I was off by half a second! I was really peeved, but luckily I golded it next time around :sly:
 
coronas were easy once i discovered the inside view, then i switch to 3rd person to land lol, its not that hard just practise landing for fun then do it for real
 
w00t! Passed Pilot School with all gold. Watch out San Andreas, Shannon has a Hunter. :dopey:

That damn Circle Airfield And Land took some practice though. I worked out that getting off the acelerator (or throttle, whatever the hell it's called in planes), hitting the landing gears and turning just before hitting the last corona helped line me up on the runway and land perfectly.

I used to do that, but switching from 1st (in-cockpit) to 3rd person view stuffed me up as the views go like this: 1st person > Cinematic > 3rd person. By the time I switched from the Cinematic to 3rd Person my plane was all over the place. 👎

Now I just need to get gold in the Land, Sea & Air test for the Boat School to unlock the Jetmax and then head on over to the bike school.
 
Congrats on getting all gold on Pilot... funny that you've managed all gold on the hardest one... but the two easiest you've not made yet!!

I've got all gold on Bike and Boat and silver on Pilot... need to donate some serious time to getting them to all Gold... I want the Hunter so that I can do the Vigilante and get my Armour up... Can't be bothered to do it in a normal cop car... and I don't want to use the "burger shot technique"!

I've golded the Driving School too. :p

Well, actually I only went through the Boat School quickly and haven't really bothered with it much, and I don't think I've even unlocked the Bike School yet....
 
as far as i know once LV is unlocked the bike school is unlocked, the only schools that got hinted to me in the game was air and car school. boat and bike i discovered.
 
If you've got Pilot school you've unlocked Boat School... you don't get told about it (like Boat) it's just open when you get to LV...

EDIT: DOH... he posted at the same time as me (Took me about 15 mins to write post!!! (Was doing other stuff!!))

Wow. I didn't expect the Bike School to be that easy. :eek:

That's 3 schools golded now (Bike, Driving & Pilot). I could go do the final Boat School one right now, but I can't be arsed.
 
Nice work... It's not tricky at all is it?!

The hardest is the jump and stoppie... and the other stoppie one... but other than that I think I golded all the other tests first try.

With the Pilot School, I have the same troubles as Blake. But I should Gold it when I get around to it, as it's not too hard. I can't do alot of thigns in First Person. It just doesn't sink in well with me. 3rd Person is the only way I can play GTA.

You might make an exception with the loop and barrel roll tests--- Its easier to tell when to come out of your loop/roll when in first person--- golded each the first time when I switched to first person view 👍
 
Ahh, I never thought of doing that. I had no trouble passing it, but for Golding that could possibly be a big help. Thanks. 👍
 
Adjusting the camera does a good job of overcoming those problems, I've got alot of time clocked up on a demo of a flying game I've got, did it all in 3rd person, I find that easy to fly with.
 
Yeah, I adjust the camera a heap, but I noticed it's easier to straighten up at the right point in 1st Person.
 
Loop the Loop was easier in first person... Barrel roll I couldn't quite get in first person... but I got Gold on those the first time I passed them... and I Golded all the Hunter missions first attempt...

Just the first few lessons that I need to get... and the Parachute one I keep landing about a mm too short!!

I love Parachuting. I love Base Jumping in Los Santos. Some fun, although once (sort of intentionally) I hit the building near it. :lol:

I think I Golded the Barrel Roll first go.
 
Base jumping is awesome, i love that you can do it in so many ways. Jump from Juank Air Airlines, Mountains, Bail from Planes, jetpack, cars and bikes, Jump from Skyscrapers. :)

The first time I tried to jump from the high building in L.S. with the parachute at the top I landed on the floor below, with the safety rail. :lol:
 
The buig pointy building in SF has a parachute at the top, have'nt tried jumping form the top yet but i imagine it would be sweet!.
Need a chopper or the jetpack to get up there though.
Has any one tried a base jump of the Gant bridge yet??.

I believe you can go inside the big pointy building and appear on top (at least this is what I heard).

I haven't tried to jump off the bridge yet. I also think you can jump into water from any height and you won't die. Don't even need a parachute for that. :) That's what I like to call a H.A.N.O. dive. (High-Altitude, No Opening). :lol:
 
I'm so close to getting all golds on the flying tests. I only have to get 100% on the Circle Airstrip and Land test. I've figured out that I need a time of 80 seconds or less as well as landing in the middle of the marker. I've got 80 seconds once, but my plane was off-centre. Grrr! I want that feckin' Hunter!

After you beat the game (I'm not sure if it's there before) there is a hunter in the Easter Bay naval base. Somewhere on the south side I think.

I almost have all gold in every school. Just have boat school. I can't get the jump one.

Yeah it doesn't hurt, I've done plenty of "HANO" dives in the water.
 
To Small_fryz or RancidMilk, did you have all gold in all schools when you got 100%? I think I got an extra 0.5% or so when I completed all golds in flight school but I'm not sure. I was at 85.5% and now I'm at about 86.1% and I don't remember where the extra % came from.

You can go inside the Big Pointy Building. I didn't realise you could jump off it though.

Interestingly, I was reading a book to kill a Free Period today, and I came across an old book from the 80's on the Tallest Buildings. Both the Los Santos building (that you can jump off) and the Big Pointy Building were near the tallest at the time. I think the Los Santos one is bigger. I wonder if they re-created that properly?

I wouldn't mind knowing what the tallest building in the game is.
