Seen Cadillacs lately? Or many new Chevrolets?
im unimpressed by the new chevys. pretty much all of them. truly middle of the road, and
nothing revolutionary about them. the mazda 6 is a revolutionary product, because it looks good, performs very well, and created an immediate lift for the brand, even though it is a midsize bread and butter car. thats what i call a revolution. sadly i dont see any of
that spark from any chevys; range vs my pick in that category/ price range
corvette 👍
vette
the SSR is nowt but an overpriced albatross that isnt selling well; a gimmick that didnt work.
boxster. or something classic, like an old galaxie or cuda or something. no use spending 40K on a wanna be truck that can only tow a jetski.
the lumina/ monte carlo are just more of the same; not exactly the receipe for revolution. (bah humbug and 👎 to a V8 FWD.)
chrysler 300
malibu compares nicely to a 5 year old accord.
mazda 6, accord, legacy, camry passat, bus pass
cobalt doesnt take any luster away from the mazda 3 (my pick of compacts) or even the civic and corolla. and it looks dull. again.
mazda 3, civic, corolla, forenza, focus
the aveo is cheap i actually like it, but i think suzukis are better value.
close call to forenza or used civic
colorado. not quite. good effort
frontier (new one) or
tacoma
big suvs, tahoe and 'burban 👍 but thats old product
armada clsoe second is 'burb.
silverado i dont like them since the more angular styling a few yewars ago. shoulda stayed the same. (i have no use for a full size pickup, but ifi did i would prefer the
titan followed by the cummins dodge.)
chevy equinox 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 my pick of small SUVs although it hasnt really stolen the limelight from CRV and RAV4. escape still the sales king.
equinox
trailblazer. yuck. especially the long wheel base models.
murano, (new)
frontier
HHR actually looks better in the flesh than in the pics. at least in 20 inch wheels, and fab paint car show trim. we will see how it does and compares. get a regular car or an actual classic.
venture. puke.
odyssey, the kia minivan
bar the vette and equinox, there is a competing model that
I would prefer in every category and price range. and a second or third in most other categories. as you can see ive listed some. and some i wouldnt touch with someone elses ten foot pole.

as for the caddies, yeah, cadillac came out swinging. but im convinced the germans are still making superior product, albeit at a much higher price.
my ratings
cadillac escallade and EXT- no valid comparison
cadillac SRX.- porsche and X5 compare favorably against it, albeit them being smaller and more expensive. lame duck M class no compatition for SRX. 1) porsche 2) (tie) bmw and caddy
CTS- compares very favorably with C class, 3 series, S type etal, but its slightly bigger. not superior to Eclass and 5 series which are almost similar size and a lot mroe expensive. superior to Xtype, lincoln LS et al. 1) 3 series 2) cadillac 3) C class, or 1) Eclass 2) 5 series 3) CTS
STS.- compares favorably with 5 series and E class. 1)benz 2) BMW 3) caddy. not quite with S class XJ8 and 7 though. also a tweener when it comes to sizes likes its smaller sibling.
DHS (do they still make it?) please retire already. not quite the image cadillac is gonig for. i think.
XLR. less than competitors. not at SL, porsche 911, BMW Z8, spyder levels yet though. better than the dated XK and IMO about the same as SC430. great product in a niche led by outstanding products. 1) 911 2) SL500 and co 3) Z8 4) maserati spyder 5) (tie) XLR and SC430
