There are drivers who subscribe to this site and also record video of their fast times in GT5 seasonals. If you don't believe me check YouTube for Gran Turismo 5 videos. Most of the top guys record their laps. See for yourself. I respect those guys and ignore the cheaters. Whether the cheaters post those times out of protest(not going into the why's on that) or jealousy is irrelevant. This type of behavior is present in just about every online gaming arena. This doesn't make it acceptable. It also doesn't invalidate all the effort of the best drivers. Back to my original point: simply look up the fast guys on youtube(OR watch/ use ghost replays when available on seasonals). That's your proof.

Well said! 👍

Hahaha! Thanks! I've been meaning to do a video for the Lexus LFA time trial which ended over a month ago now, might get it sorted this week! 👍

Looks like the cheater times have been removed. :D:tup:

So have they removed all the cheaters or just the obvious ones? Presumably there's nothing to stop someone driving over the line and waiting eight and a half minutes and then going back.

Subscribed to you on the Tube. I'm always willing to network with other racing enthusiasts!

Thanks! 👍 Should get a video out this week and then not sure after that as I have exams but definitely by the start of July I will post some more videos. :) And might do some for the Academy as well :)

Good deal.👍 Glad to see the people that deserve to be in the top spots are there and not pushed back 30 spots by cheaters. Good job PD.👍

And some other idiot has set a cheat time.

Hopefully PD will just keep deleting the times and maybe ban people. Don't know why they can't implement some sort of filter to not except times under 8:20 or something.

Yeah! If they set a time under 8:20 then instead of getting the car they get a clown hat as a gift!

Just randomly clicking through the top 250, I counted more than 5 who have never even made the top 1000 in any TT and a few who have no TT record.

Well I didn't want to accuse anyone of cheating with no evidence, but there's a lot of names there I've never seen before. If I had a legitimate top 250 time I'd certainly be having a look at a few replays.

Just seen the top 6 or so are at it again. PD just needs to fix the ability to cheat if they can otherwise its just going to keep happening.

Conspiracy theory; they are all Microsoft employees.

I can't see why anyone would bother cheating like this - it's blindingly obvious, the time will be deleted by PD and possibly result in a ban, paints a bad image of the game's userbase, wastes PD's time where it should be better spent and is a total nonachievement to everyone other than the handful of other cheaters. Totally pathetic, worthless and pointless, it truly baffles me.

I believe that the only way they could do that is to shut down the TT itself.

I can't see that they can ban anyone for this, any more than for wall-riding or corner-cutting. It's not as if they've hacked anything. They're just exploiting a mistake that PD have stupidly made in their special 15th Anniversary TT. I'll bet there are some red faces at PD HQ. It's probably mostly kids doing it just because they can. PD should either fix it or just let it run and remove all the silly times at the end. By removing them and allowing it to continue they are just making themselves look even more useless.

Yea, I'd hate to see them shut it down because like I've said before, you then would be denying people the prize car that haven't yet golded it or otherwise haven't had the chance to even do the event. Its just a damn shame that these people even have to search around for these exploits in order to cheat their way onto the leaderboard. In my opinion, it proves nothing except how big of idiots that they can be.

What kind of cheat is it?
Is there a replay?

Best thing to do now is just let people cheat and then delete them all after they shut the TT since it finishes on Thursday. Or just shut it early. :indiff:

I've not seen it myself but apparently you cross the start line, stop and go back across it. If it's still going on tomorrow I'm going to have go at it but, park up, go and have my dinner then come back and reverse back across the line for a ridiculously slow time and see if that gets deleted.

hope they don't shut this tt down be a shame for guys who haven't run it yet I only run it for the first time today luckily I golded it including a spin and 3 point turn which didn't set of the red lap

30mins session is only 3 laps and a bit laps

wow - I am so slow... Compared to the 0.034 lap time.

Does put into doubt any time, if the times are all over the show.

But first run for a few weeks. I was mentally up and down when I did the event.

GREAT - No SRF

BOOO - TCS

GREAT - I can turn that off

BOO - ABS is on too

GREAT - I can turn that off

BOO - You can't alter your Brake Bias.

--

Actually you may be able to before the race, but mid lap you can't alter it.

Still ABS=0 and digital brakes (On or off) and "Maggie Thatcher" mixed tyres (Not for turning - added understeer.)

I wondered just how ropey I was, the car felt 'different' to drive. The 4wd makes the car a bit of a brick but a brick that is very spin resistant. I didn't know if my lap was going to be good or bad... was the Gold time hard to get... or way too easy?Came onto Dottinger Hohe with 8'20 or so... faff... missed the gold time... got to the line with 10 seconds to spare... Would have been nicer to have a Gold time a bit more to the pointy end rather than back in easy mode... they could have gifted the Car for bronze (For true fans) and then made Gold a reward of a tasty paint chip or what not)

Well all too easy it seems. Glad I made it a handful with my Flatspot-O-Matic brakes.

Only got a 110% payout... so I lost out on 1.4 million kazulas.

Got a Black Black tuned GTR though... which is nice I guess. May paint it GTAcademy Aurora Blue.

I hope it is a PD glitch that caused some sort of clock smash that made the leap to warp speed.

Cheaty players? But no one can be stupid enough to cheat to 0.34 seconds to lap the full fat version of the ring ... can they?

Didn't read the whole thread, but if it was a fluke track glitch which could smash the clock and give you a time in error - then I would have expected these times right away... not clsuters several days into the event.

Y'know, I never EVER thought to use a ghost car like that! Gonna put that advice to use tonight!

Thanks!

Do you have to complete a clean lap before you get a ghost car? I tried and couldn't. This car is weird. I'm barreling down the last straight at like 175 mph and rather than put on the brakes and go spinning like a top I just take my foot off the gas and it gets all jittery. I downshift (even before the turn) and try to just touch the brakes and there it goes, spinning fast enough to generate my own gravity.

Thanks!

Wow, just checked the leaderboard and its back up to like 26 glitched times again. Pathetic, just pathetic.

hey guys, i think the glitch has been sorted. itssomething to do with the first line, watched him do it and tryed it but the lap is invalidated as soon as you try and do what they are doing.

actually skip that it invalidates when you apply any pressure reversing or accel after doing a 360, so in theory sitting on the line and just easing off the brakes would still make this glitch available. no doubt people are still going to try, i think ill just try and get a good time instead of putting effort into cheating.👎
