They even modeled the rear mirror on the Chariot :D
(i also noticed the exhaust hole, on the Chariot too)

Also, it seems that some of the 3D models that had been imported to the game look slightly, slightly distored. They still look very good, but just a bit off-puting.

Can you elaborate on that? They look like every other car we've added?

For the one on the Chariot, i'm just pointing out it's details. I love how they even take time to model the rear mirror, and the exhaust opening in the bumper was also textured, it's honestly one of the best you guys came up with as custom models go

As for the distortion, the newer modeled cars feels a bit off-putting and less solid compared to the earlier models when put into the game, not to say their horrible, it's actually the opposite of them being better than ever, it's just they kinda start to look more janky and distorted than their models on Blender when they were still being modeled, but maybe that's just me, they're fine, yes that's just me. I don't know what they should look like anyways so i'm just gonna call it that on this one :/

Can you please go into more detail, we all think the cars are looking better than ever so I'd love to see any examples you have of this if you can call it out in the pictures?

About the distorted cars i don't really wanna talk about it anymore, it's just my mind at the time of writing, yes, there's nothing wrong about them 👍

I do think i'm getting my point about the Chariot, it's a good model

But something i do have to say is that going forward, the colors feel more vibrant for the cars nowadays. Back in earlier days, the cars are quite drab even though some are quite vibrant, now even for drab colors like beige or brown or navy they still look quite saturated and vibrant, it's just the lighting work i guess, i think those are real color options, i do believe you guys, but they're quite well vibrant, i may get something wrong here, maybe nothing changed, it's just my feeling again

To be fair that's more on me selecting the brighter colours for the illustration, general rule of them for colours is find IRL references and use base game colours where appropriate. For example the Grandis makes use of the Galant's green, the Galaxy has the Cougars blue etc

The best example were those Audis and Mercs, they had very, very vibrant colors.

Also, one question, how do you got the colors for the most obscure cars from the deepest depths of Beige? Take the newest Familia Pepper for instance, i only managed to find a single image of it, it's blue, and no other brochures too. How far did you guys dig? It's amazing to think this list has been finalized since last year, which brings me to another question, how long did you guys take to finalize the list? With how many cars and how obscure these cars are in Beige, it's amazing if it only take a week or two.

Ironically enough while they are rare the Audis and Mercs did indeed come in those colours. If anything if they wern't 1999 models they'd be even brighter with the likes of the tropical green. Below are the Greens from the A4 and C180. Obviously there's some differences as shading and reflections are very linear in GT2.

Colours primarily come from brochures unfortunately it's a lot of VPN's to Japan and floating around flea markets for them. Google Lens can also a pretty helpful resource, if say you find a very low quality image of the brochure you can use that to try and get higher quality.

List was in active development from I think about November of 2024 up to June of 2025. There's very small alterations now and again if certain trim levels weren't documented correctly for the model year but that's very rare. Once it's all said and done it'll be fun to look at what got dropped and what was very late. If you want a fun fact: the Corolla Spacio that was a centerpiece of the trailer was a super late addition to the list!

Okay, so it took months, that's far more realistic considering the scope of this mod

I guess the trick for looking for these obscure oddly-named Japanese trims are to search for the entire model year's brochures instead of the specific model itself, you'll find better images and more info.

Also, is the color diagram custom? Did you make it yourself?

Nice new Cars indeed for Gran Turismo 2 Beige Edition.

Can be, some manufacturers have this awful habit of splitting trims into seperate brochures (looking at you Mitsubishi) which does make things harder. In general we are grabbing colours and refs as we go and if we find one while doing something else we'll keep that in the back pocket.

Pinterest can be a great resource too, this account https://it.pinterest.com/stufisheer/ has tonnes of content pulled from Japanese brochures if you ever want to lose an hour or two looking at the Nissan March Juke or the Toyota Estima Emina as examples

Oi-oi-oi, bless ya Emmie!
Massive thanks for introducing me to that guy, i checked him out and there's a lot i found i didn't even know existed, it's great!!!!!!

You know what i actually went to stufisheer's Pinterest page and actually looked for that March Juke

And i was absolutely not dissapointed :)

There's a bajillion Marches/Micras i found from that collection alone, it's baffling to think what would happen if Beige would feature all of them.

There were even a lot of versions of one trim level, take the i-z line for example, Beige features the Safety Grip Package but there's also the standard i-z and the i-z-f, there's also more trims like the Autostrada, Mia, A#, G, G# (the trim actually featured on vanilla GT2), Collet f, B b, Vibe, Miami, not even mentioning the classic styled packages! I totally understand why they won't feature all of these, that space could be made for other more distinct stuff........

As for the Emina, well, it is definitely JOYFUL CANOPY.
