@The Real Emil I want to ask for one car, I didn't see the mod's trailer/teaser yet, but there is one car I love and I don't know if that car have any licensed appeareance in any game, but is there any Yugo car in the mod? Or could it be possible to be in? I know some people said to not ask for specific cars to be included, but I have nothing to lose by asking if it is already included

@The Real Emil there's one more thing i wan't you to confirm for now.

In Nathan's Twitter post showing the PT Cruiser for Beige, he showed it next to a Chrysler Prowler. Could this mean a Prowler would appear in Beige Edition? It appeared in Project A-Spec and Nathan said some cars from there would be carried over, and i don't think it wouldn't be too out of place considering the Mustang wasn't cut from the basegame. Would it?

Actually one more thing, would AMC/Eagle cars would be here?:>

No, the A-Spec content is purely limited to the Insight and EV1 that have both had minor improvements made for this. Beyond that there's no planned crossover with A-Spec. I think Nathan put it next to the Prowler just for illustration given the PT Cruiser was originally designed for Plymouth. For an idea of how beige we are going, the Prowler would easily be the best all round car if it was included due to it's power-weight. Nothing on the list tops 305hp base and those cars certainly will have disadvantages.

AMC has a small presence, I've intentionally tried to avoid a lot of the American malaise era as for me it's far too easy to clog the list up with those when the focus is primarily 1998/1999 cars.

On the list thing I don't mind revealing bits and pieces, personally I'm quite enjoying the speculations and people breaking down the trailer to see what they can make out. It's unlikely you'd be able to piece together a full list from what I, Nathan or others have said so far. It would be a bit sad if it leaked but I can't say I'd mind, the teasing and spacing it out is more to keep the community engaged over any form of secrecy.

The return of the mighty Chevrolet Astro from the HIT video game Enthusia: Professional Racing

THE CAR LIST IS OUT YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I've actually wanna make a video speculating what cars would be in the mod, but i 'm too late 😅

I find the mod hilarious and awesome!! (Just my opinion!) Small edit: Gonna definitely see if there is a Ford Windstar. Good ol' van my family had from '98 to late '05 when we moved to Alberta before we switched to a Freestar!

Ah, late '90s V6 Mustangs and Camaros. It'll be like I'm in my high school's student parking lot all over again.

I gotta say, for a mod that's supposed to be about uninteresting cars there's already some really fun and unique choices in there.

I currently have some cars i really wish are in the mod. It's been imprinted in my brain that requests aren't accepted but i'll be ecstatic if you can confirm they are in the mod:

- Some trucks, we already have a alright amount of SUVs and a Hilux or Mazda B truck would be so good.

- Speaking of SUVs, Jeeps could be fine, maybe a Bronco too.

- Normal road-spec version of the Escudo, Cultus, and Espace as a beiged version of the monsters we already have in vanilla GT2.

- The almighty Multipla (maybe also a Panda!)

- 80s Buicks like the Reatta, it appeared in my mind and now i want it.

- The generic econobox Toyotas like the Corolla, Camry and Tercel. (Btw, aside from the nascars in GT5, no Camry has appeared in Gran Turismo, like at all!)

- Cars from the other Korean makes like Hyundai and Daewoo.

- Swedish cars from Volvo and Saab (i wonder what city Sweden would be in?)

- Any van from Ford. Transit, Econoline, Aerostar, Windstar, or maybe all!

- Speaking of Ford, the Taurus. Either the 80s version or the trim-changed SHO already in the game.

- More kei trucks/vans.

- The last and not least, Oldsmobiles!!!!!! :D:D

I asked too much, eh? :]
Sorry for that.....

From the top

- No trucks, no commercial vehicles in general. Most pick-ups we'd want to feature have SUV equivalents that are far easier to balance and fit in the game.

- Jeep is in

- All 3 of those cars are in naturally, ironically the Espace of all of them was a very late addition

- Multipla absolutely!

- No 80's Buick, I've intentionally avoided alot of the malaise era as it is far too easy to make Beige Edition nothing but cars from that era

- There will be Corollas and Camrys, the Tercel didn't make it although I am quite surprised how popular it actually is

- All 3 Korean powerhouses are in (Ssangyong didn't make it)

- Sweds are in, can't not have Saab or Volvo when the oppotunity arises

- There's some new Keis, not so much trucks and vans though

- Oldsmobile yes, quite a few!

Never can ask too much haha!

Never can ask too much hmmm....
Actually one more thing, since i did my playthrough of GT4SII lately, i've been using my FPV Typhoon quite a while, which got me thinking if Aussie machines would be here.

Thank you!:)

No Australian stuff, similar reasons to why there's no Brazilian, Indonesian, Russian cars etc. There was a late 90's Falcon for a little while but that got shuffled out. Holden never considered because alot of what they made by the 90's had roots in cars from other GM brands

Hypothetically too where would you even stick Aussie cars? East City?

Sorry, i forgot about the no regionals thing:(

But the Japanese does get Holdens, albeit very briefly. There's an article on the Drive website that goes into detail about this.

What i'm gonna say is quite vague and weird, i don't know how to word it, so hear me out.

Lately, i've been imagining what a GT4 Beige Edition would've looked like, i saw a comment on Twitter about someone bringing it up and then (idk if it was Nathan or Emile) responded with 'Never' and the original person who commented responded again with a sad Pepe gif. That was hilarious to me.

So here's what i imagine the GT4BE intro would've been like.

The music would be this kazoo cover of Moon Over The Castle.

The Ford GT Race Car featured would be replaced with a Ford Econoline complete with free candy decals. In the orchestral part, it also shows the car going through several backdrops, it goes through the grand canyon backdrop which when i saw it, my mind instantly said "scrapyard."

1000128809.webp

The other cars in the intro i can't really think of but i imagine this Celica in particular as a Volvo 940.

The 'THE DRIVE OF YOUR LIFE' part would have the affirmationed text changed to 'THE DRIVE YOU'RE USED TO IN YOUR LIFE' or something along those lines and the blue would be changed to beige.

That's all i remember, the others i either forgot or i can't word properly. Thanks for listening.

"Ay Tone, there's this new racket, they call it 'Gran Turismo'. All the kids are playing it. Lotta money in this ****!"

Haha! The funny thing is while putting the list together I was watching a fair bit of The Sopranos (I think I got to Season 5 and need to find time to watch again) so it did inspire a few cars you see here Suburban, LS400 and the Seville along with a few more you'll see in due course.

Not everything is here but there's a quite a few if you ever wanted to fulfil your late 90's New Jersey mobster fantasies in a racing game

What do you consider the Malaise Era? I know there's no exact definition, but I think almost everyone would agree it was over by 1988 (when the Reatta debuted) and most would agree it was over by '85 or so.
The '91 Reatta and/or Olds Toronado Troféo would be nice additions visually. I'm guessing they're not great handlers though, being heavy and FF.

I'm using it as a general term for anything American between about 1975-1990, the Reatta and Toronado were never considered. The number of Late 90's cars outnumbers everything else at a ratio of well over 4/1 and in general the cars appearing in the used dealers were essentially the last cars added to the list.

As a result, we had to cast a pretty wide net so there's a lot of variety in there and quite a few odd balls but American offerings <90's can be counted on your hands as with many other countries cars in that time period. Only exception really being Japan as you can take advantage of some existing cars for trim changes

Very excited for this. Will the electric cars just behave like a car with a single ratio as seen in GT7? Same with CVT cars? I don't recall any GT2 cars that were electric/cvt but it's been a while. Excellent work!

Thank you! Yeah it'll be CVT like behaviour, similar to the Prius and Logo already in the base game and the EV1 from A-Spec

Hey, i'm back! And with a new batch of questions:

- Would you consider any Protons/Peroduas in the mod? They're sold in the UK so they wouldn't be country-specific but the problem would be where to put their dealer.

- Are Miatas too sporty to keep? (not that i want it tho)

- Obviously the opening movie would be changed. Will it be based on the vanilla GT2 OP or will it be completely original?

- Are there cars from the vanilla game that would kept in Beige?

I'm just gonna put the rest of the cars that i wish are in the mod:

  • Fiat Brava/Bravo
  • Fiat Panda
  • Isuzu Trooper and variants (Nathan's trailer desc does mention the SLX)
  • Renault Kangoo (passenger version because no commercials)
  • any SEATs
  • Suzuki X-90

I guess that's all, i'm really looking forward to any gameplay videos after the mod released. I especially wish GrogTV would do a video of this, man has been doing funny things everytime an econobox appears in GT games, so it would be very hilarious to see him play a game with only econoboxes in them :)

- Consider yes but they aren't on the list, the trouble with Proton and Perodua is they are basically rebadged Mitsubishi and Daihatsu models so they look pretty similar and would likely be too similar in performance to really be worth adding, even if the different trims and rebadges we have are distinct in stats so they all have their own purpose.

- There's a single MX-5, it's a trim change of an existing car

- You can't change the opening movie directly due to limitations but it will be remade and available on YouTube around the mods release

- Just under 40 cars are being kept from the base game, although with the amount of inaccuracies that Pez2k has found with them, a fair few of them will probably have some pretty extensive changes.

- Yes on that list

It might be possible with some of the STR video tools available, the format seems to be well documented even for the slightly different version in GT1 and 2. I've never tried it though, so you may be speaking from more experience than I am!
