Something about the 100 million units sticker in particular feels really gauche to me. A little too self-indulgent.

$130 CAD. Probably get stick drift in a couple of months too.
A GT-edition Edge would be an instant buy with the back paddles and replaceable sticks.

Half red / half blue I think would have looked nicer and more original than a white controller with some decals slapped on it. Keep the carbon fibre center. Track pad could stay white with a 30 number plate on it.

Edit* had nano banana create it. Could use some more race decals subtly here and there

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 30th Anniversary DualSense Revealed, Launches December 10

Coinciding with the announcement of the first part of the Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update that’s coming this week, PlayStation has revealed a new piece of Gran Turismo merchandise that will kick off the celebrations for the 30th anniversary year of the series.

Several times there has been a special edition console (or just cover plates at the least) to go along with these special controllers. I wonder if there'll be a 30th Anniversary GT PS5 announced for part 2 of Spec IV in December.

I would totally buy those new face plates if they made them available.

But I came here to point out the 3 new cars in the video. The Mustangs are in GT blue and red, and numbered "97", which is the year GT1 came out, and "27". I am not sure why they chose that number. The Ford GT is also carrying a new livery with the number "30". I'm expecting these livery options will be made available. They rarely show something in a video that doesn't appear in game at some point.

Also, I am adding this to my Christmas wish list :D

EDIT: "27" Oh, stupid me, 2027 is the 30th anniversary year. That's why one is "97" and the other is "27" - Also, this goes to my point about PD and Sony caring about the 30th anniversary.

Kinda looks bad, like someone stuck decals meant for a model car on a controller. Too literal rather than being inspired by something.

"It’s a limited edition model, although PlayStation hasn’t actually revealed how many units it’s limited to."
They never do, they kinda just slap on the "limited edition" thing to sell more units. you can still buy older limited editions from 2-3 years ago for close to retail at a few stores. I imagine this one should be no different. Correct me if I'm wrong though!

I don't mind it and I think it looks pretty cool, but I think they overdid it with the stickers and it looks a bit messy compared to the clean aesthetic of some of the other controllers. Better than nothing I guess, I just wish they had added more colour. I had a rough 10-minute go at a redesign, someone let me know if I did better? I'll have to see how the real one looks in person, maybe the stickers look better IRL?

Too French for me....

Controller looks great for a Gran Turismo 4 collectors edition, just maybe not GT7 in my opinion.

Been hearing a lot about PS5 controller stick drift.
Is this a big problem with them?
Honestly don’t know because I’m still using a PS4 to play GT7. 😅

I've never experienced stick drift. Definitely not in GT7. Maybe I don't go slow enough. ;)

Also, is NO ONE else going to mention the cars? Granted, this isn't a big addition, but they are additions. Sony has never shown a GT promo video with unavailable cars IIRC.

You can't get the GT LM with this specific skin and...

A Gran Turismo controller feels like the most useless theming ever for a dualsense.

Depends on the games you play and how you play them.

I've had a PS5 since the year of release and 2 controllers. Both of them ended up with stick drift after a few years mainly due to the games my son would play.

Wouldn’t PD just make a silent update to the liveries like they did with the Gr.4 Mazda 3?

Actually that looks quite good in my opinion. I’m sure the 💩 emojis are people against AI. I don’t mind having it slap some colours in a controller. I like the red stick and blue stick.

You forgot the 30 for 30th anniversary.

Yep. It’s AI and therefore it inherently sucks. So the poor emojis are well deserved.
It does however look better than the one Sony are putting out.
Which tells you how low the bar was AI had to clear…

I pooped on it for that nurb map on the touchpad.

The nurb map is like... i dunno. Support the troops stickers.

It just gets annoying seeing it everywhere, and I assume its used by people who really just try to pass through as 30+yo racebois.

Doesn’t look that bad to me and probably only took five seconds. They probably had a team working on the new one for a few months.

Didn’t notice that. Yeah, I think any track on it doesn’t make sense. Feels like saying only race this track.
