MR challenge won't exist in Beige, out of the 22 special events in GT2 only 8 are staying and even out of those there's going to be completely different opponent pools for all of them so no event will play like the base game.I've been thinking about the opponent pools, like the drivertrain challenges for example...
...But i'm especially stumped on MR. What would we see in the MR Challenge? Would there be trim-changed MR2s? Are NSXs too sporty to keep? Would it just be kei trucks? There are some entries from America like the Fiero for example, but since malaise-era cars wouldn't be here it won't be here.
All Stars as mentioned above is getting replaced, I don't want to speak on the Gran Turismo League just because I don't want to spoil everything but rest assured it's all new.But you know what i'm the most stumped with? The GT World Championship (and All-Stars!)
Those events are filled with race cars, since this is a mod centered around road-going models, that makes it hard to think of any cars that would be worthy to race there. I do have two speculations. Either,
- Luxury models, like Lexuses, Chevys, Jaguars, Mercs, etc.
- Or, some of the trim-changed sports cars still featured in the mod like the Mustangs, the Camaro, Supra, i also saw a Silvia in Nathan's Twitter (someone even asked about the GTWC there!)
If i had to guess on which of those 8 returning events are, i'd place my bets on these:MR challenge won't exist in Beige, out of the 22 special events in GT2 only 8 are staying

This Gran Turismo 2 Mod Celebrates Automotive Mediocrity, And We Love It
Gran Turismo 2: Beige Edition is being worked on by one of the team behind the Project A-Spec modwww.carthrottle.com
Since they're also there i'd also bet the Minivan Cup and SUV Cup would appear. They'll be fun!Two events I wouldn't be suprised to see are Economy Car Cup and City Car Cup. ^^
I think it would fit nicely!
Thanks for your interest!Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to playing this game lol. Any chance of my daily drivers making the game? 1983-1988 Toyota Tercel SR5, 2003-2008 Toyota Matrix XR?
Not really regarding the mod, but are any of these new car models compatible for GT1? Not talking about only the models that feature in the mod but any model that has been custom-made for GT2.
Yeah I don't like the rubber banding, in general I think most opponent cars will be running basically stock cars unless it's badly needed for some events because I'm not a big fan of the way cars can look slow and then end up being ridiculous to race against- Is the rubberbanding gone? There are some mods for GT2 that eliminate rubberband and the people who worked on said mods also worked on this mod.
Arcade Mode is compatible, every car from that is currently being left untouched and all the data will survive as of now. Truthfully I'd love to beigeify arcade mode but it's much more of an unknown as a lot of the data is different and it's probably only going to be played by an incredibly small amount of players due to having to know how to patch the Arcade Mode with xDelta.- Is arcade mode still with us? Maybe rallying would be gone from there but who the hell does rallying anyways?
I finally remembered my question- i also have one more question, but i forgot what it is![]()
The list is fully finalized and has been since about June 2025 barring a few trim changes here and there. Nathan's idea to get the list finished and cut off early so we have a pretty clear end goal, it means you avoid creep up of content and means that the release of this will be completely the final product with no updates.I finally remembered my question
Is the (currently sequestered) car list finalized or are there more cars added as we speak? I know that fan suggestions aren't accepted but it dosen't seem unlikely that some people in the team may have some vehicles that they thought would be worthy......
Actually, when was the car list finalized? If i'm not wrong the first mention of Beige was from mid-2025-ish when Nathan trim-changed some vanilla vehicles....
That should not be that funny, but it is-
No, the Be-1 was considered for a bit but never actually put on the list. A combination of basically just being a rebodied Micra so it's function in game is limited, they aren't really that beige and the fact they have pretty good representation in other games now kinda killed the idea offIt just keeps getting better day by day!
I'm curious though, will any of the Nissan Pike cars be here? They're from the 80s but they're Japanese so it wouldn't be malaise i think
I see, you (and the team) prefer cars that you'd rarely see in these types of racing games! I really like that! No, the Be-1 was considered for a bit but never actually put on the list. No real update on release date, I'd say 2027 is a hopeful estimate but I wouldn't expect early 2027. My basic plan is the final few months of development are dedicated to testing to make sure almost every bug and glitch is squashed so unfortunately it's the old "it's ready when it's ready" bit.I have a feeling that we would be playing Beige Edition in early 2027. Maybe late-January like 1.2 of A-Spec or maybe all the way up late-February.
I won't reveal too much about the soundtrack just yet but it's set, it's fantastic and unlike other mods that alter the soundtrack the goal from the start has been "would you not go insane if you heard it on loop for 2 hours?" More difficult then you'd think. It's a mixture of 80's synth pop and blues and 90's rock, metal and big beat I'd struggle to call it massively beige because you'd end up with elevator music which would get very tiring after 10 minutes. Also, i'm also curious on the soundtrack. I better be hearing the most mental, deadass tunes while doing 90mph in a Ford Festiva
I don't know anything about music that much, but i think lyric-less instrumental would actually go well even though you play it over-and-over again, not well but atleast better than songs with actually lyrics. One of the things i'm not too fond of with GT2 is that you can't have multiple songs in a race. Everytime i boot up A-Spec and get into a race i can get some pretty alright music (in my taste) and get it looped 3 times. C'mon, i don't wanna "stahp dis song, i'm outta words" 25 times, once is enough! Maybe when i go into a different race and hear the song again it'll be fine but hearing the same song over-and-over again, even though i enjoy it is tiring!I won't reveal too much about the soundtrack just yet but it's set, it's fantastic and unlike other mods that alter the soundtrack the goal from the start has been "would you not go insane if you heard it on loop for 2 hours?" Obviously it won't be to everyone's taste but that's just how music works! You can always mute the music and play whatever you want while playing.
Yeah unfortunately that's a GT2 issue, I feel A-Spec while an improvement over the base soundtrack suffers from the "I'm going insane after hearing it thrice" thing especially in the case of Sabotage and Rusty Cage which hopefully our soundtrack won't do.One of the things i'm not too fond of with GT2 is that you can't have multiple songs in a race.
