Marches for March! Splendid! Are those remodels, or maybe just the lighting/textures that make the model look way better than the basegame ones?
Partial remodels, I think these are using the GT4 models as the base and then essentially being downgraded into this and then from there getting the respective front ends (the base car and 2nd facelift here have never been in GT it's only been the first facelift).

You guys are still scratching the surface though if you're coming to March body variants, so far you've only included the Box, the elongated wagon, but there's also the March Cubic, a sedan version of the March that's exclusive to Taiwan. But since Chinese/Taiwanese cars aren't your priority, there's also the March Convertible! The later K12 had a convertible too since the 2000s was kinda a boom for the hardtop convertible, but the K11 looks way better, and it's inclusion would be fitting too since Beige has a habit of making the basegame cars (notably the sportier ones) into convertibles!
Yeah definitely cool variants although as far as the K11 goes this will be it, the convertible is cool and was considered but would have been at the expense of the Safety Grip Pack which being a used car has the edge on use case.
One more thing? Last March as in, March 2025?
As in there's one more Nissan March to follow!
The estates are insane. I miss the wagons of Gran Turismo.
Same honestly although it does have to be said an awful lot of the base game wagons are Japanese, obviously here we will be expanding that to more fairly represent wagons from around the world!

I thought this was gonna be a quiet month but we've managed to achieve quite a bit, there's a few more cars in the works at the moment (including the last March) that you'll hopefully before month's end!
The Nissan March Collet looks really nice addition indeed to GT2 Beige Editions! 😊

Hey guys, i've been watching the teaser trailer an unhealthy amount of times to search for first instances of cars in Beige. And while doing that duty, i found a pretty interesting discovery......

As you might know, most of the cars that have featured in the trailer appears again in the 120 first cars video. Emphasis on 'most', because i found some cars that aren't in said video. They're mostly incidentals, but some may actually be very may be intended for the mod.

The most see-able one, is this Nissan Micra that appears in the timestamp 0.59 - 1.00 in a field of other subcompacts that did reappear in the first 120 cars video. Recently, we have some Nissan Micras showcased to us in this thread, but this one predates all of them. It is of lower quality that the recent ones and is just a carbon copy Nissan March G♯/Nissan Micra SR '97 found in the basegame.

One that could very well may be included in the mod is this Toyota Prius '97 copy. It can be spotted in the timestamp 1.42 alongside the Peugeot 106 Electric '99 and Dodge Caravan EPIC '99. It being spotted alongside the two could potentially mean that a competition for electric/hybrid vehicles would be in the mod (props to them if they're calling it "Going Green").

VideoCapture_20260324-062631.webp

In the timestamp 0.51 - 0.52, you can spot a Daihatsu Terios Kid Aerodown '98. This car has been downgraded into the CX AWD '99 and also had a sister model, the Toyota Cami P '99.

VideoCapture_20260324-062422.webp

But the here's weirdest one i spotted. The timestamp 0.37 - 0.38 shows a brief scene of a Plymouth Voyager '99 in Trial Mountain. There are also other cars in the pack, one of them is a Shelby Series-1 '98. What the fluv is it doing here?! Well there is an explanation. Back when this trailer was made, the mod was quite early in development, most of the new original, custom car models were just bare bodies on top of existing basegame cars. There are also cars that still stuck to their original bodies, this Shelby was one of them. What it has become now is pretty much impossible to know, but it still interesting (and funny) that a 300+ horsepower supercharged coupe can't beat a Dodge Caravan!

The trailer has a few placeholders this is one of them, this particular March has been directly replaced by the March Collet and won't be seen in the release.

The Prius is one of the 35 or so base game cars that will be sticking around, this has been updated in game to be the 1999 model although there was no changes between the start of production and it's replacement by an updated Prius in 2000.

The Terios Kid is another car sticking around from base, it's the kei car variant of the Terios/Cami which are longer. Aerodown to keep it's visual identity to differentiate between the three cars.

OK then, cool i guess.

Also forgive the lack of context for the Shelby spotting, lemme fix that for a sec...

OK, context for the Shelby is here, @The Real Emil what would you like to say?

I don't think it needs an explanation surely? The mod is far from finished, and removing all of the original cars up front would be more work than replacing them as new cars come along. It's not great to nitpick tiny oversights in trailers.

Interesting spot, pretty obvious that won't be in the finished product. As Pez said there's quite a bit in that trailer that's placeholders so while it's a good insight if it's not a new car/trim then don't expect it to feature in the finished game. 36 cars are being carried over but even those have some small revisions (model years, correct colours, trims, wheels etc)

So that's a bad thing? Well sorry then :guilty:

A bit of news from myself.

I am displeased to say that i will be stopping progress and delete my thread, "Vehicles confirmed in Gran Turismo 2 : Beige Edition". Why the matter? Well other than me losing motivation to continue it, i've felt like it has ruined my focus on other things in life. I'm afraid if i simply took a break, having it up without any progress will be off and even in the break i'll still feel the looming dissapointment of not giving you guys any more insights.

I know for most of you who've been following the thread it will be dissapointing and quite sad, i know that, i also feel that way. But what must be done must be done. If i'll find some motivation again i may do it again in a different form (if i can find one), but for now it's the best i can do for myself. (aw man that wording make me feel selfish.... i'm trying my best to not do that......)

I'm currently reporting the moderators to delete my thread, they'll eventually take it down, but enjoy what's left before that happens...

Apologies, and best wishes,
Dex

No worries. I used to create mini RPG projects back then and I would pass days on them without doing much other things.

The last one I tried to do was in 2023. I decided it was taking too much of my time plus I'd never finish 'em. The final one was gonna have Coco in it as a cameo.

Shame it was a fun thread to see the speculation on what's coming but needs must, look after yourself

Well, thanks for understanding :indiff:
(that emoticon is supposed to repersent that i'm well, cleasy)

Even though i'm a bit more jumpy and got some energies after a nap, i'd still think i'll be back to square 1 after continuing again. It was fun at first and not gonna lie i felt proud of what i wrote, but kinda puts my life off. I always woke up with a head full of concrete and i've felt a bit lethargic and uninterested doing my things, i too don't know if it's because of my mindset towards the thread or i just got bored, yeah.

I'd still love to pull off another list but maybe there's a better way, before the thread thing i tried making a slideshow infografic list using Google Slides, but it ended up not looking how i wanted it to (and slides is pretty janky to use on a tablet).

My dedication for the mod is, i think pretty sizeable if i'm honest. I literally had to download the hellsite they call 'X' (but i call 'Twitter') to get updates because they won't let me use the site if i'm not logged in. I scoured every nook and cranny in the world wide web just for cars. I go hella crazy if i know i'm waiting for something.

There like fully fledged games with code right? That's actually pretty cool!

Yes, i do have a lot of ideas and projects i'd love to do in my head. But everytime i execute a part of me just keeps the thoughts back and dosen't let me do anything and procrastinate. I got an decent video idea of a recreation of the Just a Day music video, but the people are replaced with the cars from the GT3 intro in my anthro style, currently doing the animatic using Flipaclip to get a sense on what to do, planning to animate the full video on Prisma3D (which is just knockoff, mobile version of blender), but considering that part of me, that will never be finished.......

Hey

A few nights ago, i suddenly remember the time that Emile puzzled me with a Beige Edition website on his answers on my usual questions spree. He said that he wanted a website for the xdelta file instead of a Discord server, of which i added more to that idea suggesting the theme being an early Geocities page.

And on that very night, i decided it would be cool to make my own concept of how said site would look like. And here's what i came up with.

Considering my efforts and what i made it in, i'm pretty proud of what i've done! I was trying to capture that look of personal GC pages (and early websites in general) being crusty, rough, and some degree shady and suspicious, but also kinda comfy and welcoming in a way, i also looked at not so personal sites during the period. I personally think what i've done skew a bit more to the later '00s, but it still feels retro compared to the modern sites.

I tried to capture the aestethics by having the icons being 3D-ish, the stock font for the promotion text, and the images for some of cars (which may or may not be in the mod) being shown as transparent images since those old sites have some funky images/GIFs. Is that enough? Possibly overwhelming? IDK.

I wanted to make some of the other webpages too, but i just don't have an idea of what to do with them, so for now i just did the main page.

Please take note that as i'm not in the team or related to it in any way, this is purely unofficial. Please don't take it as the Beige Edition website since that obviously dosen't exist yet since the mod is far from finished. If the team would wanna use this design when the time comes (or maybe just take some cues), i'd be more than happy. Just ask me and chuck my name in the credits. Granted the chances of that could've been zero, but hey, a man could dream!

Haha that's very cool, you've definitely nailed the 2000's minus the clip art and none loading Flash graphics!

They do have real images sometimes from what i've seen, but yeah they're mostly clipart

I mostly tried to use brochures/promotional images since that's basically the equivalent of clipart in cars

It's a great effort! I have noticed two cars you've included on the right that haven't been announced yet so your guess work on those is good (although they won't be exactly the same spec and in the case of the Nubira it's a different body style!)

So the Nubira is wagon-only like the Marea Weekend, good to know

Also i have a request, is there a way to adjust the chase cam? The A-Spec uses the original chase cam from base GT2. That game adds the two big cars: the Ford F-150 Lightning and the Jaguar XJ220 Test Mule. Using the chase cam is just pointless since you can't see schnid. Since this mod has a lot of those type of cars? Maybe make the cam more far and/or higher? It may look out of place for the regularly shaped things, but will be great for the bigger stuff......

Also happy April Fools Mr. Emile! Saw the Awesome Tuweezmo thing, what a really big leap we got from Epic Turismo to that.

(no no that dosent mean my request is a joke, i do really need it :scared:)
