What could the customization refer to?

Has any thought about sort of works body kits and performance upgrades.

sort of like this:
1. Lamborghini murcielago-->Lamborghini murcielago sv--> (maybe a race upgrade) Lamborghini murcielago rsv

2.Ferrai 599-->Ferrari 599 GTO-->Ferrari 599 FXX

3.BMW M3-->BMW M3 GTS--> BMW M3 GT2
That would be sweet... but it sounds more like something that'd be in TDU2 imo.

Yes, it was mentioned. However, that seems unlikely since this is PD we're talking about. If they have the kits and parts to change a Murci into an SV, you can bet that PD would do it themselves to pad the 1000+ car list.

Would be easier to click on the model variant in a drop down menu maybe, than trying to duplicate 3 or 4 cars. The basic shape of one model doesn't really change that much, so cosmetic changes here & there & it would be done i guess.Beware i'm drunk, so probably won't work.

I must say that Slip is pretty heave handed in his posts if you differ with him too much. Like, see a facet in a car body in a GT4 pic, and he'll say it looks utterly unrealistic. And he'll go to great lengths to explain why you have poor vision or poor judgment if you disagree. ;)

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you're running in to White-Knight Seth, since you both take such pride in hyperbole-filled inaccurate quotes attributed to me. Especially since you suggested a "truce" less than a week ago.

Take a look at my posts before either of you continue spouting off nonsense. I'm one of the ones expecting a livery editor, not otherwise. And I'll gladly admit to holding both (actually, any) games up to the same standards. You wanna call a certain game "half-assed", it applies to both. I understand being able to appreciate more than one game, for different reasons, might be hard to understand. I'm not going to pledge allegiance to any one game, because that's stupid.

...

Dave's got the right idea. We might see all those variations of 599, or Murci, or any other cars. But we probably won't see them due to some bodykits; they'll just come as separate models. It makes sense from a few points of view; PD gets to bump their car count up, and it'd be a lot less difficult to sell people on there being numerous Murcielagos in the game than just one, that requires some upgrades to turn into other trim levels.

I'd be very surprised (and disappointed) if PD doesn't actually showcase some of this oft-talked-about customization at one of the two major shows left prior to release. Most of the other big features have at least been teased, this one gets mentioned specifically at the end of the E3 video, but almost nothing has been said about it (and all we've seen are the mysterious Tuscan, the odd orange Civic, and that strange Mini).

Slip, where are those images you mention?

The mystery tuned cars?

I have literally nothing to do at work, so I can go hunt them down

(EDIT)

The Mystery Mini:

Orange Civic:

The Civic is hard to make out, and I wish I could find where we discussed it a long time ago. There was a video which makes it easier to identify, but I can't find it.

The Tuscan is pretty easy to find evidence of :)

Slip did your feelings get hurt? Two people agree that you blast other poseters that differ in opinion with you and you gotta have a reply for that, again- bashing us. Paint option has been in GT since day one. I guess you didn't own GT1 did you? You could choose between different paint jobs for your cars. So like I said, paint option has been in GT since day 1. You also say that you agree with me but then bash my post yet again. How about that for 'flip-flopping'? The modelling in GT has never been half-assed because they are accurate. I'm not talking about the graphics, or your beloved 'lines' in between the panels. I'm talking about the general shape and look of the car. Forza 3 has it wrong, totally wrong and disproportionate with more than 1 model. That's the accuracy. I don't have a problem with other racing games but you can't say that the GT models in the past have been so off in the shapes or sizes of the cars. In other games, such as Forza 3, you can. Even if it's just one car, who's to say that isn't your favorite car in the world/game? You know and love that car then you play your game and notice that the bumpers, hood, windshield, fenders- the whole car is off. That's a disappointment that GT hasn't had. Sure the graphics in the past have been a little blotchy, but it's always 'up to date'. No game that has released around the same period of time has looked better. That's not an opinion of mine, that's of many, not just GT fans, but magazines, gaming sites, racing fans, racing drivers- you name it, GT has looked the best in terms of graphics not just for racing games, but games period.

And I don't expect anything grand in terms of livery editor but I expect the normal paint option, and perhaps stickers.

You know both the Civic and Mini have the GT banner on the top of the windshield right? The same banner that is on the GT-tuned cars in Prologue. I'm not sure those are livery edited cars, but rather GT concept cars like we've seen already in GT5P.

If this has been discussed already, which it probably has, then nevermind. :p

1) NOBODY here is discussing paint choice on purchase. Nobody is said you won't have that feature so don't go blabbing and finger pointing about who owned GT1 because your point is mooter than Mr Moot wearing his mootest hat to Mootstival.
2) GT has been inaccurate on 1 or 2 cars in the past.
4) Please provide a quote of the "blasting" or bashing you received here from Slipztream?...

The racing version of the murcielago would be the murcielago GTR ran and developed by Reiter engineering.

You are ALL wrong.
GT5 track editor, too good to be true.
Customization means that you can customize your car on the inside( engine, turbo suspension, wheels etc...) like in previous GT´s
This isn´t trackmania WAKE UP!!!
I love if it was true, and if you guys can prove it I withdraw my word but until then, no.

wtf are you talking about? you came out of nowhere to join an A and B conversation, you should C your way out of it. lol- my point is moot? I said I don't expect anything grand besides the normal paint options and maybe some stickers for your cars. Slip got the wrong impression that I was saying we could paint our cars since the beginning. I didn't mean that. I hope we can but I don't expect anything grand.

Who? The 90% who agree with you in the poll?

I have a feeling you know as much as we do.

Okay, okay. "Claws Sheath." ;)

Aftermarket Tuning , Maybe just one big Racing Car update from the dealership of your car , like Gran Turismo 2 👍

Seriously... Kaz confirmed body kits already, it was in an interview, and now people have seem to forgotten

You know there have been so many hints that say yes and many that have said no that i am just gonna wait and see if i can make MY r34 race car

Im just thinking that IF theres Bodykits, those will be Premium Only..

So practicly, I believe its goign to be GT4 All Over again, with 1086 Hp Turbo Volvos that looks like your moms car...

Y'know, I was going to just let this drop, but I'm genuinely curious as to where you're coming up with this? Well, I'd love to know where I apparently said we wouldn't even have multiple paint options for cars.

Real_tron actually brought up some interesting points, and they're all valid, but the accuracy issue is probably best left to other threads.

I still am hoping for one of the shows to actually have some sort of dedicated portion for customization. Was it FM2 or FM3 that had an early teaser involving a Z being completely redone? I wouldn't mind seeing something like that for GT. Something a bit more low-key and less flashy than the mega-vinyl'd Z, but still something that shows us a hint at the myriad customization possibilities we have. Sony's shown how important it considers the ability to create and share for individuals with titles like LittleBigPlanet, I expect they have at least nudged Kaz about doing something similar, while staying within the realistic spirit of GT.

If true, all cars wil have bodykit upgrades:

Your personal collection will come from a couple of different areas, two of the main ones being Dealers (for new cars) or Used Car Dealers. But regardless of where you purchased, every car will be more than welcome to enter the Tuning Shop for body and suspension kits, exhaust systems and more performance parts than you can shake a stick at.

If true, all cars wil have bodykit upgrades:

Body in the whole context of this embargo lifting is used together with chassis. As the picture above shows, body includes the pieces replaced in the weight loss stages. Nothing about body kits. Then again, that is GTAuto and not tuning shop and I don;t know if both are under the same main "tab".
But trust me, I'm hoping for as much customization as possible.

As I wrote in the news thread, I hope that there will be a comprehensive description of what each modification/upgrade does.
I mean in-game, not in the Collector's edition 300 pages guide.
