What could the customization refer to?

what exactly is racing modifications other than body kit and spoiler? the last icon looks like racing design

Racing Modifications are a carry over last seen in GT2, in some cases they where race car versions of the car you where starting with, sometimes they where as simple a livery, In GT5 the interior of cars will most likely have roll cages, racing seats, etc.,. Race Modifications in GT5 may only apply to Premiums since the way they where modeled.

If PD stays true to form & does something like they did in GT2, you might be able to get Kaz's Lexus IS F that he raced at the ring as a race modification.

Hello separate icons for bumpers/sideskirts/wings, and the actual race mod option :D

So the Tuned cars from GT5P won't be in the game then. I mean what sense would it make to include them as separate cars when you can just buy a base car and mod it. Of course the Opera Z tuner car will return.

That's what I was thinking too. I always hoped they would be a preview of a more robust customization process as opposed to completely separate cars, as in Prologue. Guess it's likely now... I wouldn't mind a copy of my Tuned Viper again, only this time applied to an ACR base :D

I want a picture of a body kit on a car... I hope it's a geniune kit, not some crap like from NFS. but it looks like they have proper wheels now, my favorite is there already, CE28s, I can even paint them black! :)

Yea will be great to see what they have put in the game. Im hoping for Genuine bodykits too. Not every car should have a full bodykit option either

Looks like I was right about the Citroen GT being a race car and not a tuned one. I Figured it was because of the huge rear wing and the center lock wheels. Not sure if tuned cars can get center locking wheels. Those are usually reserved for racing cars or some special cars (Gumpert Apollo)

There will be a decal number system in GT5 judging by all the blank white spaces on the Stealth cars, Citroen GT race car etc

I bet they unveil the livery editor in the next coming weeks if they don't ill probably cancel my collectors edition GT5 and just buy the new NFS game coming out

I think Adobe Photoshop might be more your thing than a racing game if thats going to put you off it !

It's interesting that you can paint a car a different manufactorys colour,

so does any one have any cars they will paint someon elses colour, I think I will paint a r8 v10 (of course) lambo green.

If they've improved the E46 M3's Laguna Seca Blue so it's actually the right colour and not a light, baby blue like it was in GT4, then I'll be using that on a lot of cars.

Well in real life this is also a possibility with certain hues being linked to a specific brand but used on other brands ( when repainting ).
I have to say that the inclusion of a paintshop made my day and it even extending to the wheels is just the icing on the cake.
And ofcourse bodykits and race-mod returning will make the whole process of personalizing or customizing much more thorough and deep than GT4 ever was.
No more limited colour schemes on some cars ( for example Pagani Zonda in GT4 ) although I do expect not all cars will be able to be repainted or fitted with new wheels, etc. ( for example those classic Le Mans racers ).
Although I would like to mostly be able to decide myself which cars I would like to repaint, sacrilege or not.
For example, I always preferred Giallo Fly ( a specific Ferrari yellow ) over Rosso Corsa on most supercars and racecars by that brand, hope I can create this one ( apart from those wheels maybe ).:)

It does... you mean you hope it looks like its been adjusted on the home screen.

well in GT4 and GT5P (i keep comparing so sorry), when i lowered my car for a better center of gravity and adjusted my camber angle to a negative for those twisty turvy tracks, i dont see the changes, only feel it.. maybe im expecting too much..?

But you do see them? Just look at the replays, even when you go on chase cam you can see the cars been lowered and has a camber. I know in prologue, none if it can be seen in the home screen though. But yeah I swear in GT4 atleast you can see that your car has been lowered and the wheels have had a camber angle.

lol in that case im gonna play gt4 again (when i find it somewhere in the garage) and try it again.. thanks! maybe i didnt set the camber enough to noticeably see the difference.. thanks for the heads up!

So.. who else is pretty content with the level of customisation we already know to be in the game? Painting cars and wheels is pretty great news. That plus the return of race modifications (in whatever form), AND apparently buying spoilers, skirts and other body parts separately is basically all I wanted. Only thing missing is a full livery editor, but with all of this, I can wait for that.

I'm pleasantly content with the customization, because it's more than I expected PD to do. I still want a full livery editor, but at least this way I'll conceivably have a unique car when I enter into spec series online. Like you said, I can at least wait at this point.

The biggest surprise for me was the ability to paint wheels. Didn't see that coming!

One thing I did notice.. or rather, didn't notice... Where's the wheel shop? We can paint the wheels, sure.. but can we replace them? That's been in-game since GT2, I'd be surprised if it were removed. Or am I just not seeing it on the menu somewhere?

I share the same sentiment, pleasantly surprised not only by the ability to paint the wheels but the fact we can paint the cars at all.:)

How about the wheel-icon in the menu screen? ;)

What's the engine logo for? Is it engine re-builds or maybe engine swaps (my money being on the former)?
