And 50%or more of the people that buy GT5, will not use damage. Unless it is mechanical, damage in GT5 is not worth it in my opinion!
I wont be using damage. Waste of time really unless its GTA style. Generally annoys me anyway in racing games.
Agreed. I don't crash. Well, except if I make a stupid mistake or a punter pushes me off the track.![]()
Rrrright...
The fact that he's perfectionist doesn't mean his games are perfect.
^So what I can deem about Kaz is that he is a perfectionist that always seeks perfection, but is doomed to never achieve true perfection because a perfectionist themselves do not know what true perfection looks like?
My head hurts.![]()
True perfection only ever exist between the ears, aiming for perfection and never able to fully realise it is all we humans can ever achieve.
We can get extremely close quite often, but never fully perfect.......( except when we decide to call it perfect, there is a difference ).
Being a perfectionist is therefore truly an awful condition deserving nothing but heartfelt sympathy.![]()
^Deep post.
@Analog: Kaz can dream though.
By the way it's spelled philosophical.![]()
Thanks, I knew it didn't quite look right, Kaz sure can dream and aim for his dream but thank God there's a deadline somewhere....

I wont be using damage.
I hope that we won't be disappointed with E3... I was very disappointed after TGS 09 because game was puled back in 2010... I don't want same at E3![]()
I dream of a deadline..I call it E3 (for short).
Thanks, I knew it didn't quite look right, Kaz sure can dream and aim for his dream but thank God there's a deadline somewhere....

I need a deadline too because I want to book two weeks off work for a good session. Roll on E3 for more info I just hope they don't just show off how move is been incorporated into the game and thats it! that would upset me very much.

It would be nice if the deadline were E3, but I believe they'll be working feverishly some more after E3.
I'm hoping for Kaz to come on stage of the E3 press conference, and say, "At this point in time, I can gladly say Gran Turismo 5 is finished, and will be released the following month"
I'm going to politely disagree. For Sony to get this to press and burn, print, package and ship probably 1m copies for each continent (swag - scientific wild ass guess; could be more) they would have to be doing this:
a) now for a july release
b) June for an august release
c) July for a fall release.
That would mean the code is almost, if not all, set.
And if 3d is a reality, and the TV's are released in June, then it won't be much later than that.
Logical?![]()
One thing I have thought of is that in last year's E3, it had the trailer with the nice rendered damage... Do you think that if there is a trailer this year, it will show the damage that we've gotten to know and criticize, or maybe a current build of damage?
In english?I'm hoping for Kaz to come on stage of the E3 press conference, and say, "At this point in time, I can gladly say Gran Turismo 5 is finished, and will be released the following month"

Does Kaz speak English.
Well think of it this way. Lets make a schedule for Sony:
There are no major titles coming out in June, July or August for Sony or MS (minus Madden). However this is a slow time of the year. The only way GT5 would be released this time is so that it does not interfere with Sony's other holiday releases and would be bundled with a PS3 during the holiday season a la MGS4. Also the PR and dev time cut is kinda short. (probability 10-20%).
September brings F1 2010, TDU2 which do not matter, but Halo Reach and possibly Move and or Natal. The two motion controllers releases will be a pivotal part of GT5 release. Reach will take up a lot of ad time and buyers money. Even though the two buyers are separate it would be wise to wait a bit. What has got me wondering is if Sony will release GT5 before or after move. Will people buy GT5 and see that the PS EYE is a part of the Move Starter Pack and say "well I sure would love to have that PS EYE and Move is kinda cool, might as well get the starter pack"? Or will they buy Move because they know GT5 will use the PS EYE? (probability 50%)
October brings MOH and possibly Move and or Natal. Again depending on the release window of the motion controllers this could be the optimal month. Get the buyer's money before Natal, and COD:BO and all the other blockbuster titles, while giving them time to recovery from Reach and Move. GT5 would have plenty of marketing space as would Move. I would say a late October release. (probability 70%)
November is a huge month with COD:BO, Crysis 2, SOCOM 4, Max Payne, possibly LBP2, Move and or Natal (Natal being more likely). Honestly even GT5 would have a lot to compete with here. November is a huge month for the retail industry. But remember UC2, how it came in before the rush and sold reasonably well but had long legs. COD is a juggernaut in the marketing space and will probably gobble up most of the ad time. Personally I think this month is just too big. (probability 30%)
December is filled with holidays and is usually not as strong as November in terms of sales. That being said there are not many titles scheduled for this time (at least that we know about). Anyways if GT5 is not released in June-November it has to be released in December (assuming that 2010 guarantee is accurate). (probability 30%)
Personally I think you are reading too much into it. GT5 will sell bucket-loads no matter when it launches. Their primary audience has been chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game for years now. Sure, there are times that may be better than others in relation to other games releases, and they will get factored into the decision, but I think the completeness of the game itself will have more of a bearing on when it hits the shelves than market conditions.Well think of it this way.
